  2. Now Sterling scores… ffs
  3. ABK what a tackle, timing perfect to stop Sterling. Literally the art of defending shown in that play.
  4. Looks like we are playing a 4231 with JWP in the number 10 role? Okay start I guess, Sterling had one good chance which on another day he could have converted. KWP final killer pass or ball is lacking at the moment, but otherwise looking good
  5. A good thing too that PSV didn't make the Champions League, less money in the coffers. Gakpo would very much be a marquee signing. I remember WHU signing Felipe Anderson for £36m though and he didn't really pull up any trees, though of course managed to score against us at St Mary's. I guess I always fear if these signings don't come off, will we be hampered again like the Gao years...
  6. Reminds me when Ibrahimovic said to his agent something along the lines of “the best you can do is Southampton?!?!”
  7. Yep, we'd probably give an allocation of 10k seats if we could too. No other club bends over for the opposition like us.
  8. Am going for another admirable and hearty performance, only to lose 1-0 against the run of play.
  9. Yep. However if he had said “I read it on Twitter as reported by Jacob Tanswell from the Athletic”, then I’d have been more inclined to hear what Martin Semmens would have had to say. Some of the questions at that Forum was really playing into Ralph/Martin’s hands ie. That guy who said “i went to all away games, is it worth me going to leeds and city” to which Ralph pointed out we got decent draws up there…
  10. Ralph Hasenhuttl says Southampton "will definitely not sell" striker Che Adams this summer. Adams, who has been strongly linked with a move to Everton, has also been of interest to Leeds United and Nottingham Forest. Speaking to the media, Hassenhuttl addressed the rumours and said: "I can categorically say that he's our player and he's staying with us. "We will definitely not sell him this summer." On the Scotland international's start to the season, he added: "He has a big impact when he comes on. "He showed against Cambridge he can score goals. It's a sign of him feeling confident." If this isn't definitive I don't know what is.
  11. Please make it £10 for adults and £1 for kids, pack it out and who knows how far we’ll go.
  12. Sheffield Wednesday at home

    Nathan Redmond

Wouldn't get into Villa or Wolves first XI. WBA or Birmingham City?
  14. Agreed - I think this is best too. Also the only way to set up a poll is via a brand new thread, so makes sense to do this so we can vote for our man of the match. Also means Lighthouse/mods only need be around at FT to lock main thread up. (Thanks in advance for your work) I'm sure others can chip in to create a post match thread with a poll
  15. If we lose on Saturday I’m blaming the title of this thread.

  20. Glad he started though, good for match fitness and to get some more minutes in the legs. If we can race to a 3-0 lead by say 60 minutes then get Aribo and Djenepo on for Adams and Stu it would be ideal.
  21. Here you are lads tried my hardest to convert and show the goal FullSizeRender.MOV
  22. You can only beat what is in front of you.
  23. I get what you mean but my guess would be that lower level PL clubs have a lot more money than those from mid-tier smaller clubs in France/Spain/Italy etc, so probably less of a bargaining tool and harder negotiating with PL clubs Still, Raphinha managed to join Barcelona this year. Or maybe those clubs would prefer spending silly money on the likes of Camavinga, Tchouameni etc because they don't like giving money to the English clubs. I suppose a few German clubs are picking up a lot of our English players on the cheap knowing they could profit in the future.
  24. I don’t seem to recall our fans gesturing against Sunderland fans when we beat them 8-0 in the following years afterwards.
  25. It was meant to be a great time to play Everton last season as well first up with a squad in disarray and a fan base who didn’t want Benitez. We’re just the perfect team that Leicester will want to play too.
