I remember WHU signing Felipe Anderson for £36m though and he didn't really pull up any trees, though of course managed to score against us at St Mary's. Glad he started though, good for match fitness and to get some more minutes in the legs. If we can race to a 3-0 lead by say 60 minutes then get Aribo and Djenepo on for Adams and Stu it would be ideal.

I get what you mean but my guess would be that lower level PL clubs have a lot more money than those from mid-tier smaller clubs in France/Spain/Italy etc, so probably less of a bargaining tool and harder negotiating with PL clubs Still, Raphinha managed to join Barcelona this year. Or maybe those clubs would prefer spending silly money on the likes of Camavinga, Tchouameni etc because they don't like giving money to the English clubs. I suppose a few German clubs are picking up a lot of our English players on the cheap knowing they could profit in the future.

I don’t seem to recall our fans gesturing against Sunderland fans when we beat them 8-0 in the following years afterwards.

It was meant to be a great time to play Everton last season as well first up with a squad in disarray and a fan base who didn’t want Benitez. We’re just the perfect team that Leicester will want to play too.
