Liebherr’s Southampton shareholding diluted - The Athletic Katharina Liebherr no longer owns a 20 per cent shareholding in Southampton, reports Dan Sheldon. She inherited the club from her father, Markus, after he died of a heart attack in August 2010 and maintained full ownership until selling an 80 per cent stake to Chinese businessman Gao Jisheng in 2017. And when Sport Republic bought the club at the beginning of the year, it did not include Liebherr’s 20 per cent. However, following the group’s investment over the summer, when it injected millions of pounds into the club, her shares have been diluted. Though the exact stake has not been disclosed, it means Liebherr no longer owns 20 per cent of Southampton and her shareholding has decreased. Due to the increased capital put into Southampton by Sport Republic, her shares — even though they no longer total 20 per cent — remain at the same value. On the pitch, Nathan Tella continued his excellent form for Burnley in their comeback against Sunderland after joining on loan from Southampton in the summer. The 23-year-old has scored six goals in the Championship for Vincent Kompany’s side and his form has not gone unnoticed on the south coast. The Premier League club inserted an option to recall Tella into the deal when they sent him on a season-long loan but are unlikely to exercise it as he is settled and flourishing at Burnley. Tella recently moved into a new apartment in Manchester and is enjoying working under Kompany’s management.

An Arsenal friend messaged me to say he’ll refer us from now on in as “Stokehampton” Glad to see that physical side from us, especially DCC and Lyanco.

That is why Ralph will play Moi, great tracking back there, definitely runs more than Aribo.

Come on Lighthouse, we know football clubs are corporate businesses and will want to constantly make money but they are slightly unusual because they are also established communities there to provide joy for its fans, not customers. I can give a number of reasons why the club over the year has been considered soulless and bland, and I'm not just talking about the shite we are witnessing on the pitch: 1) As mentioned installing padded seats on Block 31, forcing loyal customers out unless they pay the price rise and then charging fans £60-£90 on matchdays. I doubt any fan even requested that but the club thought let's see if we can milk the fanbase more for it... 2) The Block 1 fiasco - the club riling up our own fanbase, accusing them of "27 missiles" or whatever it was and now relocating season ticket holders and dampening the one of few sections where we had an atmosphere 3) Away tickets - constantly taking the smallest allocation possible and making us look as small time as possible, all because we fear we might have a 100 unsold tickets 4) Charging £5.50 for a pint for which we we have to queue 40 minutes for - I believe we are 6th highest in that regard and most expensive outside London 5) The Gasworks rubbish - how did we ever want to charge our fans £200 or whatever it was for exclusive access to an overrated sports bar and then charge £30 for some "Hampshire burger" and other stupidly marketed items? To the clubs credit fine they've removed the membership but I know the prices haven't changed. 6) Matchday prices - our prices are ridiculously high and we are possibly the only club where we have about 7/8k tickets go on general sale every time. How about the club half those prices and enforce a postcode rule with collection at SMS or a proper purchase history that is monitored to prevent any away fans coming into the home end? 7) General feel of the club - why not put on free pints or free coaches for its fans? Would it kill to lift the mood once in a while? Instead we probably make sure the away fans in the hospitality are well fed. All the above is exacerbated by being crap on the pitch and Semmens smugness at the fans forum.

We have zero off-the-ball movement

@trousers would you like to post your league table? With Villa, Leicester and Leeds now winning we have dropped into 18th

I think we should have played Larios over Elyounoussi There is no pace in this team. Aribo looks like he is jogging up top There is a huge difference in the way we press and Saka/Martinelli is pressing, coaching and automatisms all gone wrong today.

1-0 Arsenal... it was coming
-
I genuinely think it has been over 10 years since we won a game in some proper rain.
-
I am fairly sure we are one of only 3/4 clubs where every game comfortably goes on general sale for home games. In fact even our games vs Utd/Liverpool go general sale to anyone with purchase history which ain’t that hard. Almost any other club would require a membership to get a ticket. No shock though when you charge stupid prices like £70 for Block 31 and £50+ in the centre seats for Category B games

A win over Chelsea papered over the cracks.

West Ham missing Zouma, Ogbonna ans Dawson, we should capitalise on this.

Depressingly even though they play Thursday night, there is no doubt we will look the more jaded and tired team out there. I’d like to try and play a 4-3-3 with JWP, Stu, AMN midfield 3, and a front 3 of Armstrong at left wing, Aribo up top (he played ST for Rangers), Edozie right wing. Get some blistering pace on there, and stop playing direct long balls. I think Bazunu’s strength has turned into our overall weakness and has changed the way Ralph now sets us up. Prediction: Saints 0 West Ham 2 (Paqueta + Bowen to score)

We can’t say “a caretaker didn’t work before in past” and as a result never use that option again. It would be like me saying “all our Serie A transfers have flopped, so we should never buy from the Italian league again” I’d be in favour of a caretaker, whether that is Selles or anyone for a few games only because there is a possibility of a new bounce as they might try something completely different tactics/formation wise for which opposition managers would find harder to prepare for.
-
But then why not just sack him and let the caretaker run the ship for a while if we are waiting for a preferred candidate?

Sorry for the non response mate - I’ve managed to sort out two tickets myself now, was waiting on the other one hence the delay. Enjoy your time in Manchester

Hello mate, just saw your previous posts - is your ticket available?

City won’t even need to get out of gear 1 to do us over by 4 or 5 anyway.
