I have no issue with this anymore tbh. If a loan player fires us to 6th place and then leaves so be it, it means we've had the service of a quality player for 1 year. We might even get first dibs if said player enjoyed his season with us too. For me the only danger, is that similar to the Euros, anyone can input a negative result into the govt website and then the Covid pass comes up. You don't even need to do a test, just need a QR code from a lateral flow test, and it lulls everyone into a false sense of security. Happy to see - there was a tweet the other day which said Palace were in at £12m + add-ons, and I was wondering why we didn't enter the bidding at that price. I guess we must have done or we have thrown Obafemi in which swayed it, or perhaps Armstrong simply preferred us to Palace and told B'burn he wouldn't sign for them. Whatever the reason, I will wait until I see him holding the shirt but I am happy if this goes through.

Yep, I'd hazard they have a net spend far higher than we do - I think in terms of major sales they've sold Ayoze Perez, Wijnaldum and Sissoko but again they are nowhere near restricted the same way we are. I don't wanna play into Turkish's narrative that we are the softest fans in the PL but we've never voiced our disapproval in the same way WHU/Everton/Newcastle fans have, and as a result media attention on our plight is low.

I think we’ll all have to wait, we are proper hagglers and any transfer we do will probably go down to the final day. If I remember correctly that’s when Mane and Alderweireld came in. I wonder how much Graziano Pelle would cost now - when we purchased him, he had scored 50 goals in 57 league games for Feyenoord in the Dutch league. These days if someone had that sort of record it would be £20m+ surely. Anyone we do buy, I just hope that it is someone who has a knack of scoring, someone who has found the back of the net or has shown a 15+ season at least once before - not a Carrillo for example! I was keen on Armstrong for that reason, but obviously I am aware that having one, or even two good seasons in other leagues doesn't translate into proficiency in the PL - see Adams at Birmingham or Werner at Leipzig
