  1. Ultimately it is in the police's interests for away fans to win, go home happy and reduce any disruption. By giving these fans 1/2 the whole end gives away fans a good chance of doing that. Having said that we have only lost once at home so far so obviously it boils down to more than just away fans. I do remember when every PL club was given £200k to spend on their away fans, which most clubs used to subsidise travel or tickets, and Saints used that money to improve the concourse for away fans or something
  2. I don’t know if I would have preferred this tie away, WHU will generate a loud atmosphere, perhaps even larger than if they were at home. Before our win over these on Boxing Day, we hadn’t beaten then in the last 8. However, we play on the Friday night, they play on a Sunday afternoon, so this game will definitely be on the Wednesday. We will have 2 more days of recovery too, so no reason not to play our strongest team.
  3. Correct, even Palace’s Holmesdale “ultras” is as far away from the away end
  4. My word what an interesting team, I hope we haven’t just thrown the FA Cup away with that line up. These lot will be up for it, and equally I’d say it will be very difficult to come back for some if they can’t beat a Championship team. However, I’ll reserve any criticism until the end, only because the post will be digged up later otherwise. Let’s hope this team has built up some chemistry over the fortnight.
  5. Roy Keane agrees

    2021/22 Kit

Yep profit is a bit vague really... Obviously they won't release their margins but I suppose if they say there are only 500 it gives it a bit more of that novelty factor.
  7. I've only watched highlights and any other clips that appears on my feed when something controversial happens i.e. referee blowing whistle early. To be fair I did look at the scores and hoped Djenepo would win the thing. What is odd is that whilst people say the AFCON deserves greater recognition, I wonder why no one says similar for other continental tournaments. I, and a lot of my friends certainly don't know when the Asia cup is played or who last won it etc, and same goes for the Americas. However, I think some have an idea of who won the last 2/3 AFCONs.
  8. I think we should offer all players 4 years + 1 year option to automatically extend if we want to. That gives us potentially 3 seasons out of any "unearthed gem" and we can still sell high/profit.
  9. Could we not just accept its 2022 and now the desire for hooliganism has reduced and that home/away fans are able to get away safely without trouble anyway? Other sports allow fans to sit together, I'd really like some more detail to know more about why they can't be housed in the corner and the ramifications. Or, I'd liked to see it trialled to see what it would happen if we put them in the Kingsland North corner. Those who go looking for trouble usually aren't at the game, sure it's organised elsewhere.
  10. There should be a stream for sure, it is being shown on the following channels apparently:
  11. He won't be entirely free. I think Liverpool have to pay a compensation fee which is agreed separately at a tribunal.
  12. Great effort for this game has sold out. Now that transfer window has "slammed shut", this is a huge game to keep the magic in our season going. This is the team I'd play: Forster, Yann, Bednarek, Stephens, Perraud, JWP, Diallo, Walcott, Elyounoussi, Adams, Adam Armstrong That team should be more than good enough to win I hope, I know players have had 2 weeks off but we have tough fixtures with Spurs and Utd away next so keep Romeu/Broja/Stu/Salisu/Redmond fit for those 2 games in quick succession? I hope Shane Long gets a bit of a runaround too.
  13. Newcastle's only games to rearrange is us and Everton. Both us and Everton are still in FA Cup, so can't re-arrange that weekend. Perhaps Everton didn't want to arrange in the week before the 2 week break, but really that was the only time they could have definitely played it. Obviously we can't play them on the 5th Jan if they have an outbreak on the 2nd. It is ridiculous of the PL not to organise some more games by now though, I can only assume they are waiting for FA cup fixtures to be fulfilled to see who is in it, but not ideal for fans at all.
  14. I'd probably let Djenepo go on loan if possible, assuming it is 2 players for each position then we have Redmond/Elyounoussi/Walcott/Stu. Armstrong to cover the wide number 10 roles. Although, I'd only send him on loan to an environment where he will succeed, or to a club who we can get at least £7m/£8m for... from an accounting perspective that would be a profit on a registered player so gives us room FFP wise, even if we did spend £14m on him. We all know selling at the right time is just as important as buying
  15. tbf though we've only been shafted because we were due to play them at the beginning of January... Ultimately, we'd already played them in August where we didn't win... if the fixture list had us down to play the second fixture in April as opposed to January would anyone be complaining? It is what it is, I still want them to go down and I'd love for the PL to enforce a rule whereby January signings cannot play, and I'm still more than annoyed we lost a weekend fixture, but I don't agree when it says "it isn't fair on anyone". The January transfer window exists to boost their squad, just a shame when given the chance to capitalise on it, it was taken away from us by some accepted shithousery.
  16. What's stopping him from joining Liverpool then him being loaned out to clubs our size though? In the future, Liverpool might not want to pay an exorbitant fee so from their perspective, and perhaps his, might be better off joining Liverpool now. He might impress in training, learn a few things off the current wealth of talent they have. I don't think this will stagnate his career unless Liverpool do just leave him on the bench. He could join us and not do well, and then he may find it unlikely to ever get a contract at a big 4/6/CL club.
  17. In other news, Manchester United have had to issue a statement as apparently Mason Greenwood has domestically abused his girlfriend. If true, then what a waste of talent, he may just well have thrown his career away.
  18. Depends really, Shearer didn’t score for us in the Premier League. Jimmy Greaves has the most top-flight goals.
  19. That’s because next weekend is FA cup weekend and as both teams are knocked out, getting a game in there means all PL teams still get their two weeks off.
  20. Yes... why not...
  21. I have to admit it seems like the first time in a while where we're being linked with all these players, usually our transfers are kept on the quiet side and no one has a clue a day until it is done. Is it a new tactic to ramp up pressure, or are the media just enjoying this new scattergun approach of "linking players to clubs with new owners", or have we got a scout who isn't doing a good job at keeping secrets?
  22. I'd like to think the same 1k-1.5k or so do go to every away game perhaps? I don't think it is an issue this season thankfully as every away game has gone to members this season except Arsenal, but perhaps for the future if demand for away games rise, it would be nice to recognise members who've gone to say at least 5 away games to get priority for those away games in the 2nd half of the season once enough away matches have been played. Or, it would be nice if the club kept back say 300 tickets guaranteed for members (when it eventually comes to them) and keep the format as it currently is.
  23. I wish the club started giving some priority to members who have done say 4/5 aways already over a season ticket holder who has done none.
  24. City also did it for Iheanacho, sold him for £25m and had the clause set at £50m. I don't think any of those players mentioned though has the ceiling that Broja has, but equally I can't comment on the contract situation for either players
