Haven't won at Goodison Park since 1997, got walloped 7-1 in 1996, and before that we last won back in April 1992 in the old First Division. Awful record up there

Southampton 0-1 Newcastle League Cup Semi Final 1st Leg
nta786 replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
Yep, I think I can say with certainty that unless club puts on free coaches or subsidised flights or something, this will go general sale. My appetite would decrease massively if we were to lose 4-1 at home as we did in the PL game. -

Frantically trying to take some time off, but equally I'm debating If I would be a terrible fan were I to wait until after the first leg to make my mind up! -

It's a joke Newcastle are allowed to put the fans up in the Gods despite a PL ruling that some portion of the away fans have to be near the pitch i.e. on the lowest tier

and with the greatest of respects, he isn’t a miracle man. He did exceed the metrics to get this role though.

Also it's perfectly conceivable for players to enjoy training at the time of posting, which from the videos at the time looked lively and proactive from NJ. Now that results have turned as well as fan mood, very easy for the players to down tools.

but with the greatest of respect…

Sack him please. Just haven't warmed to him at all, nor to his press conferences and what is worse is the stuff on the pitch.

FULL TIME - SAINTS 0 - 1 FOREST

Pisses me off we wouldn't take a player like a Boly, Saiss, a Dawson, Evans, or in yesteryears Cahill etc at the back because they'd have no resale or something yet its exactly what we need. Gone downhill since Fonte left
-
Honestly the likes of Jones, Lampard, Gerrard etc etc really don't deserve a PL job without at least achieving promotion from the Championship or decent success in a top 5 league abroad. Arteta can be the exception to that

"Nathan Jones you're a wanker, you're a wanker" "Sacked in the morning"

Here is a selection of comments from the fan forum which show how we have lost our way but also the arrogance of Semmens: Ralph: Finally, and this is the most important thing for me, we should never lose our DNA and our DNA will always be to be active and to be a pressing team. I think we were famous for this in the last four years. It was what made a lot of big teams struggle sometimes against us and this was our way of being active on the pitch - pressing high. I think there was a clear identity when you saw a team from us playing there you knew it was Southampton because it was active, always on the front foot. But the DNA must be always there and I can guarantee you that even if we are now discussing about a back five or whatever, one thing should always be the same. That you see a team out there that us running more than the opponent, who is is fighting more than the opponent, who is sprinting more on the front foot and we try to give you the best effort that we can put in the game. And then we all hope that this is also a successful way of playing football. Semmens: 90 per cent of what you see in the media is not true. The fact that Everton are trying to take our striker on loan - it’s not real, it won’t happen, don’t worry about that. From our perspective, we are massively comfortable with everyone we bring in. Everybody's here and we look forward to working with them First of all, we have a really good squad. We can't get into the individuals and talk about people's future but both those guys are fantastic people Semmens: I also go to 30 games a year on the weekends and miss my kids and you know, we get it. I drive back from those games disappointed too. For me personally, I don't think it's ever a lack of effort. https://www.hampshirelive.news/sport/football/football-news/che-adams-future-southamptons-striker-7449055

We are the PL's laughing stock and felt obligated to help Bourdeaux with their financial woes. Yet happy to haggle over Orsic or Gakpo I'm sure of it.
-
I can imagine the presser already where NJ absolves himself of any blame by saying something along the lines of "you can't give away silly goals like that", yet this is entirely on him for a) picking Lyanco and b) spending 7 fucking weeks with the team and seemingly coaching no patterns of play or a distinct style into our team.

Right on queue - DCC comes on for ABK
-
Anyone that says DCC hasn't trained properly is full of sh*t - if he is on the bench he is good enough to be called upon. There'd be more sympathy if he wasn't in the squad.

Forest 1-0 up. ffs
