In fairness last season it went to general sale, but perhaps that was because it was a Wednesday night kick off. As for the seated only question, Spurs’ away end has installed railings which are suitable for standing up, however there is a really tiny section of the away end by block 118 which doesn’t have the railings. Last season everyone was still standing up by that section anyway though.

The sad thing is that the best thing for him would be not signing a new contract, playing amazingly this season and then almost force our hand next season to sell should he have suitors. If he has an average season then we'll still probably offer him a contract anyway next year. Ideal world is he extends his contract and plays out of his skin to give us some more bargaining power, but I would be willing to accept a reasonable compromise of putting in say a £50m release clause if that will entice him to sign.
