Looking on Wikipedia (so it must be true), Clifford owns the brand name "Futebol de Salao" where as "Futsal" is the generic term used by FIFA.

The whole football world seems very conservative and reluctant to change, but I don't think Clifford is in a position to claim any high ground about whether his methods are/were superior. I do think (and am I'm probably in a very small minority here) that there would have been merit in Woodward and Clifford having the reserve team to show what they could do. But, not at the salaries they were offered, and not for the tiny number of hours they did and definitely not with Woodward also being a divisive Director of Football. Clifford seems a Chunter-Monkey of the highest order, if he had a bit of humility and could show that his methods could make a lower (or non-) league club punch above its weight (and that's the level where training methods would make the most difference) then people might start taking him seriously.

As fans of Woolwich Arsenal have just seen, there's always a bigger club somewhere... It's only worth worrying about players leaving if you have no hope of replacing them. Currently Saints have both the funds to go to the market and are also a club on the up that players would want to join.

They were amongst the loudest voices campaigning against the PLC structure which did give rights of 'transparency' to shareholders (and therefore the fanbase as a whole). They got their wish with a private takeover and the lack of comms is just the cost we and they have to live with.

Just spotted this thread... On the assumption there aren't many people setting themselves on fire in the same area, this was a mate of mine. He was a great bloke and not someone you'd think would do such a thing. As Mikey suggests he did have some gossip worthy things going on in his private life but nothing worth topping yourself over. What a ****ing nasty way to go though...

I've got one of the eBay sourced copies, there's a handful of pages that are printed much lighter than the rest, but still perfectly readable. Perhaps there's a duff batch of copies hence the low price. Overall it's a amusing enough "bathroom read" but the content is a bit amateurish and the layout is plain, just text and a few black and white archive pictures.

I can't see BNP winning anything under the current first-past-the-post system, the constituencies are too big for their core vote to make an impact. People are also more likely to make protest votes in local or Euro elections rather than a GE. There should be an un-official list of candidates on the BBC Elections website, but I think the nominations are still open for a few more days.
