Are the new sponsors actually putting any money in up front, or just giving the club a cut of any sales made to supporters?

Hugo Shecketer - player liaison officer?
Guy replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Although, there are not many professions where there are rich but incapable staff members needing such assistance (except perhaps the Royal Family) -
It seems to me the two best ways for an independant Scotland to succeed long term would be a) become a tax haven and encourage London based companies and High-Net-Worth individuals to base themselves in Edinburgh on paper (sort of like a more rainy Switzerland) but this goes against the traditional Left Wing stance of the SNP, or b) dive headlong into the EU and take on the Euro and style itself as an English speaking centre for European business (sort of like a more rainy Belgium) but that seems to defeat the idea of 'independence'.

Ethiopian Yirgacheffe beans and an Aeropress (which is easily the best coffee gadget ever) plus a dash of milk. Probably cheaper than buying Nespresso capsules as well as being nicer (unless you like frothy milky faux coffee drinks)

Betting at SFC now.. What a total pain in the butt!

It wouldn't be so bad if was a brand that had High Street stores, but to only claim online is ridiculous. I'm sure they'll live without my £5 wager though. -
Sunseeker set to be sold to Chinese property group for £300m

I can see them ending up knocking out the hulls and main superstructures in China and then doing the interiors and other customisation work in the UK. -

You might have stumbled onto a genius idea, selling replica STs in the shop that look like the real ST but don't work the turnstiles. People can then pretend to be a ST holder in the pub, or if you are a genuine ST holder you can throw the replica ST on the pitch in disgust and still be able to attend games.

Now then. My current car is a personal lease. The first time I've done one. The thing to watch is the mileage allowance. I went for 15k a year as I'd done 12-14k for the past few years on average but due to being busy at work I've not had so many weekends away so have only done 8k in a year, so have 'wasted' some money that way. I got this car (a Volvo V60) as it was some cheap 18month deal as they must have spare capacity at the factory or something. The price has gone up +50% per month since I got mine. You'll also pay heavily if you want any optional extras, so mine has no foglights, light washers, parking sensors and a dashboard full of blank switches. In comparison, I previously owned a similar Volvo (S60) which I did the traditional sensible thing of buying at 3yrs old for 50% of the list price and running for 6yrs when it was only worth a couple of grand. Adding roadtax, tyres, servicing and a single breakdown that cost a grand to fix the monthly cost averaged £250 versus the lease price of £330 a month. Was it worth a saving of £80 a month to 'own' a banger rather than rent a newer car? I'm not sure.

The only thing you lose from Camelot if you refuse publicity is the support of their Press Office, so if/when the papers dig up the dirt on your past then you are on your own. I'm still not convinced it is worth the hassle of going public, as there's so many big winners these days that it isn't news-worthy for papers to track you down.

Whilst they are swotting up on their Dickens they should note the advice of Mr Micawber in David Copperfield: "Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery."
-
And, of course, the Lefties don't like that as everyone would pay the same rate and they want 'The Rich' (whoever they are) to pay more.

I too reside in Rushmoor (not the posh bit). A large number of the recent Nepali arrivals are oldies who rather than sit around at home (like native OAPs might do) seem to enjoy strolling around the town (I suspect most of them are in better health than similarly aged 'Brits') so they are quite noticable. The younger Nepali community is, according to a recent newspaper report, the most economically active demographic in the country (something else a number of 'native' Rushmoorians could do with emulating).

How many times a day do you look at the League Table?
Guy replied to Tamesaint's topic in The Saints
Yesterday, I even cut'n'pasted the table into an Excel spreadsheet and calculated the potential maximum points for all the other teams and then greyed out all the ones that could no longer overhaul our current total. Very satisfying. -
It seems I've ordered my tickets too late to get them posted out and have to collect them from the Ticket Office. Anyone know if there's any timelimit on when they have to be collected (eg. more than an hour before k.o.) ?
-
Indeed. I booked some tickets on Monday via the Online Booking system and it took several attempts to find a block with empty seats.

If we get promoted, I wouldn't mind if Pompey do manage to avoid relegation, it just means they are more likely to lose every week in the Championship than in League1, prolonging the entertainment for another year.
-
A colleague (a Nottingham Forest supporter) made the suggestion that Pompey wouldn't be demoted that far down as it would be a Health & Safety issue when hundreds of away fans turned up at these tiny non-league grounds. I could do nothing but laugh.

Buy a whistle and keep it next to the phone.
-
There's currently no premier league team in the south outside of London, so there is a potentially large additional audience (outside of existing local supporters) for any team who make it to the top level (but 8mil is over estimating that by a long way), but Pompey are easily in 4th place in the race to get there behind us, Reading and Brighton. You could also say that Swindon and the Bristol sides have more chance in the medium term of making the top end of the championship than Our Friends to the East.

You also need to list the average for 3rd Place +1pt as that's what you need for 2nd place, so will probably be a couple of points less than the 87 average that 2nd place ends up with.

I shared a house with a chap who reffed Sunday league games and he had a round red-card in 1993.
