Indeed. So, one minute Fratton is a fortress that makes other teams up their game and the next minute no-one fears Fratton so up their game...
-
Whilst there are definitely times when 'small teams' are more up for certain games and put in more effort, it shouldn't happen every week and if you keep losing to 'small teams' then you aren't a 'big team', you are a 'small team' with more fans.

I do wonder if the players are advised not to turn up at the ground in any supercars they own, but to instead come in their Daily Driver, so as not to annoy us fans (especially if we lose).

Thanks. I installed Flashscores on Friday and it's already proved helpful as it beeped on Sunday with a goalflash from the Ath. Bilbao game...

Now then. I had been using the 'SKY Sports Score Centre' app to check on the scores and coming fixtures, but they seem to have updated it and it has lost a lot of the functionality. Any recommend something better to install? (I'm using an iPhone if that matters). Features I'd like: Easy to tell what/when the next Saints game is. Check on all scores happening 'today'. Way to see what games are being played on a particular day (current day and future dates) All Saints fixtures listed at once. Much obliged.

Quite Rightly so, Carrots are the worst of all the vegetables.

Anyone know the timetable for tonight? It says "Kick Off: 7:30" on the ticket and I'd normally ignore the pre-match build up in favour of beer and pie, but I guess for a testimonial the Build up and team announcement is part of the show. Will things like the Penalty Shoot out be the half-time entertainment (longer than 15mins?) or before/during/after the match.

Remind me. If things remain equal, does this go to extra time/pens/etc or is it on Away Goals?

...ahead of Liverpool and Chelsea in the league for a start. In related news, Pompey are a mere 18 points behind the league leaders in L2.

Joking aside, the only way a 'fan owned team' can grow is for there to be a cash injection from such 'owners' each season rather than just an initial donation.

In Happier News, it is also my birthday on that day.

Did they also get the money there and then instead of being drip feed via the mortgage (or equivalent) ?

His shoot-to-kill comment (and the one about military action being a hypothetical question) just show he is not a natural politician.

Which games, if any, have not gone to General Sale this season? I used to be a member back in the pre-relegation days in the early '00s as very few games made it to General Sale, but this season it looks like there's no need yet to join the scheme.

Is it on the telly? My tv guide just says "Europa League - tbc"

Done it, not sure how much will be of any use...

"The Betting Room" I have one of their pens in front of me. I didn't mind them, their staff overpaid my winnings one time.

UKIP will remain a force upto the in/out referendum when either the outs win and there will be no need for an anti-EU party, or the ins will win and leave UKIP defeated and without their charismatic leader to keep them in the news.

That's the best part....

I still watch SoccerAM if I'm around on a Saturday morning. The biggest sign from this week's episode that how out of touch/out of date the concept has become was how they were showing the LvG 'Queens Park Raisins' clip a week after everyone had seen it online.

The answer is, of course, either tonic water or lime-and-soda, both are non-sweet and not as easy drinking as coke (and as said above, you get a huge caffeine buzz if you keep pace with the drinkers). The problem with tea/coffee is that is takes the bar staff ages to prepare which makes you the most unpopular person in the bar.

Brewdog NannyState. If you want something with flavour, rather than just cold and fizzy.

Future Classic Cars from the 80's and 90's...
Guy replied to Unbelievable Jeff's topic in Motoring Forum
I think the Nissan 200SX would be a better long term bet than a 300ZX due to their cult status amongst the Drift fraternity. I don't think the 850 or SL will be super desirable as they were never poster cars of their day - the previous square shaped SL is the favoured version as it has more classic looks but is modern enough to drive. The obvious 80's choices would be either a Peugeot 205 or Golf GTi but they've started to become collector's cars already so you might have missed the boat, maybe buy a (poorly) modified one and revert to standard over time and sell on for ££££. The Corrado (and indeed the Scirocco) never seemed to be as cool as the plain old Golf GTi, so might not have a market outside of the Veedub fanboys. I reckon there will always be a market for good quality MX5s, they have the potential to be a cult classic like the (original) Mini or Beetle. Longer term you always have to look at what was popular at the time that youngster lusted after but couldn't afford, so Imprezas and Evos will be the thing in 10yrs time. (Of course if you buy now, you can't just drive it about for 10yrs, it'll have to be in storage)
