  1. Indeed. I was using the Waze app to navigate and it initially sent me down the M11 and then said the M25 was shut due to an accident so re-routed me round the North Circular. Back to Aldershot at 00:20. Next Question: Do Cambridge always have the goal posts that far away from the visiting fans, or was it some attempt to be cunning and shorten the pitch?
  2. In an ideal world we would be able to buy a 'Saints Pass' and get to see all 38 Saints games on tv (or an online stream). I suspect they'll play silly buggers with the timings again so lots of random kick off times. (I quite liked the 6pm KOs as you could watch the game straight from work and still have the rest of the evening free)
  3. With the announcement of 2wk quarantines for certain holiday destinations already I can't see clubs allowing players to leave the country. There's 7 weeks until the start of the new season, if a player has a 2wk holiday next week and a 2wk quarantine then they are only back in training for a couple of weeks.
  4. Any news on tv coverage for the final day yet? Everything I've seen says TBC... Are they waiting for Tuesday's games to finish to see if there's any relegation battles worth covering?
  5. Anyone know when the tv coverage of the final day's games (26th July) is going to be announced?

    Arsenal build up

Answering my own question: it looks like it will be on Radio 5 Extra (I'm sure it wasn't listed when I first checked).

Is there going to be any (national) radio commentary? Looks like Radio 5 are covering the other game and I can't see anything listed on the Talksport site.
  8. Was it just urban legend that he kept the original, comedy, Ted Bates statue after he paid for the replacement one?
  9. Do Saints get a massive fine if some Chelsea fan manages to get a ticket in our end? Is that why they are not letting people get additional tickets on top of their one per Customer Number?
  10. Indeed. That's the main reason I'm going. If you go for the cheapest tickets (£30 + £1 fee) it's cheaper than tomorrow's game at St Mary's.
  11. I think it is fair to rank home/away/cup games as equal for Members. I'm another non-member crossing fingers it gets to us. But that's the risk of being tight and saving the cost of membership that is not much use the rest of the year.
  12. Did he?
  13. Oh well, there's always next year....
  14. There was some regional football show around that time that was set in a pub. Can't recall what the name of the show was.
  15. Or relatedly, if we finish with more points than this season but in a lower league position, is that an improvement or not?
  16. Every other Alfa sold in this country has experienced epic depreciation so it may well prove more expensive in the longer term than a 'duller' choice such as an M3/M4 or Merc E63. Otherwise fill your boots, as they look and sound excellent.
  17. The only reason would be that his football knowledge only extends to the Premier League of recent years, so has heard of Pompey but not of any of the many other 'sleeping giant' clubs elsewhere in the lower tiers that would appear to be better buys.
  18. Plus some of those 'clappers' that Leicester issue.
  19. Also these rich folk have their money (especially inheritances) tied up in various trusts to keep them away from the taxman or just exists on paper as unsaleable shares in family/unlisted companies so they can't spend the money even if they wanted to.
  20. The authorities only have themselves to blame. That we can't legally watch every Premier League game in the UK is a disgrace, and I don't see in who's interest it is that we can't, other than 'tradition'.
  21. I like the '80s style wide white centre panel design as it is more unusual than common-or-garden red'n'white stripes that other teams (eg. Stoke, Sunderland, etc) use. Plain white is a good 2nd or 3rd kit choice, with black as the alternative (have we sold more black shirts than the previous yellow or bright Green shirts)
  22. I shall be calling in at the Waterloo Tap for some extree expensive and fashionable craft beer.
  23. I'm travelling in from Aldershot, so hoping trains on the Alton branch line will be quieter. Might be another option for people in the Fleet/F'boro area.
  24. I'll happily admit to being a part timer (only 2 home and 1 away so far this season) who'll be looking for a Wembley ticket. :-) I also accept that there are thousands of other fans who deserve to be ahead of me in the queue so I won't take it personally if it sells out before I get a chance to buy.
  25. There are a lot of 'daytime homeless', people who live in temporary accommodation (B&Bs, hostels etc) but they have to leave them during the day and have nowhere else to go other than sitting around in public. I read recently that one of the most common reasons for rough sleepers not accepting accommodation is that they have a dog that they don't want to be parted from and there are very few hostels that will accept animals.
