For what is worth this is my view - We are far too lightweight in midfield Gaston is nowhere near fit When he is he should not play wide but down the middle Morgan and Davis can only pass sideways or backwards Ricky looks like he has lost interest We have no cutting edge

Well said that man

I think the problem with Punch stems from his lack of pace and reluctance to beat his man on the outside. A number of times on saturday he got into great positions only to look laboured on the ball. I admit he had a great game against united but he needs to do it week in and week out to satisfy the doubters. On a completly un related note I notice in today's metro that the bet of the day was saints to be relegated! I cant remember the exact wording but they implied that we are out of our depth and clueless!

Totally agree. This place is pants now. Used to be about the banter and football now it's about winding people up and insults. The support at Boro was fantastic. Our season has been fantastic. We could lose 25 nil in the play off final and it would still be fantastic. I just dont get this place sometime

can you get tickets at the gate?

Not sure whether he has since joining saints but NA used to take his summer holidays onboard Thomson Cruise ships. He and his family were open and friendly and got on with everyone around. Having written every quiz onboard a Thomson ship I can you tell you there are more questions about Saints than you can shake a stick at! Maybe Nigel was influenced by the amount of references to Le God and just had to join us. This year I even managed to slip one in about him...I hope he got it right. Top man.

If this is true then good luck to the lad, it's a shame to lose him but it's a cracking deal for saints. 12 mil for a 17 year old who has had one full season under his belt in what is essentailly the old 3rd division is complete madness and goes to show that football is losing it's mind. With this money we can buy 3/4 cracking players for our promotion push...let's hope we spend the money early and allow the new players coming in time to gel with the club. Up the saints!!

Many thanks

Does anybody know of an internet stream for this game? Stuck in the middle of the ocean so no chance of getting to the pub! Cheers

Having watched the game if ox is worth 10 mill then Jennings must be worth 50...what a player he is going to be

No frost in Liscard (just down the road) Local game for me and the Mrs so really looking forward to it!!

It was in the sunday mail I believe and also the sunday Mirror of all papers!!!

This above!! Got so annoyed with reading the reports saying that NA had disrespected the Cup and Club by playing a second string of no hopers!! for me it's just a classic case of lazy writing. Any reporter worth their money would have done their research and realised that the team put out was an alternative 1st team

Started supporting saints in 1984 after we beat Liverpool on the tele. Being just a young whipper snappy I thought it was the world cup final until my dad pointed out that Southampton was a port on the south coast of England! Followed the great team ever since but sadly never lived in Southampton. In a strange twist on the story I now live in Liverpool!!!

I can confirm the ref was blxxdy awful all game. Completely lost control of the game in my humble opinion

Alan who? Totally superb display by saints. I thought at times under the Dutch we played cracking football but today was a step up. NA has got us playing football again as a team and it's a delight to watch
