You could not fault the effort last night but its clear to see that we are lacking something in the final third. We totally dominated the game (even when Stoke had 11 on the pitch) and I would rather watch Saints any day of the week than have to watch Stoke play on a weekly basis. We have the foundation of a really good team. SB looks like a hell of a player and Bertie had a good game last night as well. If Grant had not made a worldie save and Jrod had not missed from a foot (The only striker I know who ends up in the back of the net more times than the shots he takes) then we would all be saying what a great away win and everything is looking good. I personally really enjoyed the game, although as always with Saints it was a frustrating watch...but this is Saints and I have come to expect and in a weird way love that. On to Sunday....

Anybody who has been before recommend a good place to park tonight?

I will get slated for this but would love to sign Alan Judge from Brentford. Every time I have seen him this season he has run the show for them.

I love rickie as much as any saints fan but I just dont get the reasons why he makes the squad. It must all be down now to the fact he plays for liverpool. Based on his performances this season, if he had been a saints player no way would he have made the squad.

How can anybody get excited about signing Shane Long? He is a Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, Stoke, etc kind of signing. Before anybody shoots me down I know our long term visions may have changed and that we have to accept our place in the food chain but deary me it's a kick in the balls to pay good money for a plodder like Long...I hope RK knows what he is doing..might as well bring back Lee Barnard. My thoughts...for what it's worth Pretty hard to tell just how good or bad we are as Brighton were simply dreadful. Home support shocking as well. We were neat and tidy in the build up but once again the final ball was lacking Good to see big Vic back...going to be a big player for us this year. Thought the LB did well considering he will not have trained with the rest of the team. As sussexsaint said Pelle looked desperate to score and totally hacked off with the service he was getting, however it will come. I think he is going to be a good signing. In some respects he is very similar to Rickie. Good first touch and always looks to play the intelligent pass. Once he scores his confidence will grow. Tadic is starting to show us now why he is so highly rated. Some nice touches and good delivery from set plays. His confidence seems to be growing each game and he he seemed to enjoy hearing his name chanted at every opportunity! Isgrove for me is slightly frustrating. He clearly has pace to burn but sometimes seems reluctant to take on his man. At the end of the second half (for the first time in the match) he knocked it passed his marker and then did him for speed easily, setting up a chance for Pelle I think. Not sure if it's a lack of confidence but cant understand why he doesn't do this more often. Over 20 metres I can hardly recall seeing anybody quicker. Having said that he works his socks off and deserves his chance in the team. One thing that struck me yesterday though and has continued from last year is the bond between the team, even with the new boys. You still get the feeling that they are still "on the bus" and genuinely enjoy playing for the club and each other. One final thing. To the idiot in the toilet at half time who was trying to head butt a fellow saints fan for no reason...why don't you just fxxk off..a total prat

What makes the whole thing more annoying is the fact that we have sold 3 of our best players to the same team. I have been saying all summer to my liverpool supporting mate that this would never happen, that the board wouldnt be that stupid. he is laughing in my face now and his breath stinks

Sadly couldn't get tickets for this but coming down to Southampton from the north to do the st Mary's tour and then hoping to watch the game in town after. Can anybody recommend a decent pub to watch the game? I know it will be on a stream but any suggestions would be much appreciated. Cheers
