  1. No, there won't. However there will be a massive split in the country - genuinely, between the people that voted for and continue to promote Brexit, and those that feel their lives have been massively affected by those that voted. It might not seem like a big thing at the moment, but you will see Brexiteers derided, disrespected and sneered at for years to come.
  2. Isn't it odd how Brexiteers think that what Shurlock, Verbal et al say is about massaging their own ego's? It's really not about them, it's about you, and the fact that they're showing you where you're wrong. As soon as you hear something you don't like and can't explain/answer (which happens a lot), suddenly it's about the other person massaging their ego. It's not, it's about making you look stupid.
  3. I asked this a few weeks ago actually - I find it odd that the EU will let us leave without a deal, as that contravenes the GFA, yet they won't make any concessions around the backstop (of course, there is no other way). In theory, if the EU and Ireland are that concerned about the GFA, and I'm sure they are, I think we could see Article 50 extended in perpetuity until there is a technological advancement that allows something to be done. On the other hand, us leaving without a deal, and the backstop being in place as part of the "deal", means that Parliament not agreeing to the deal will contravene the GFA, something that the current Government cannot be seen to do. As I said many, many moons ago, the Irish border and GFA means that Brexit is currently impossible without staying in the customs union.
  4. But as I've said earlier in this thread, if they apologised and said they were wrong/duped, then I'd be fine with that? So how's that make me a hypocrite?
  5. My word, badly filmed, badly acted and badly written - the holy Trinity.
  6. Until I met one who's admitted he was wrong - you seemed to misunderstand the point of the anecdote at the time and you still seem to now. I think, nay, I know, that a lot of Brexiteer voters felt that getting control of our borders meant reducing the amount of "brown" people in the country. They're going to be gnashing when they find out it means completely the opposite. The same as you said Wes phrased his Jew-hating in a way to wind up Verbal, I have phrased that "all Brexiteers are racist" in the same way. However, I do believe that a lot of voters voted that way due to racism/xenophobia.
  7. I don't know, I don't seem to be as shrill or angry as the people I'm arguing with at the moment?
  8. Absolutely I agree with that - I started out with racist/xenophobic, until Wes started with his dislike of Arabs.
  9. Oh good, we have another enabler...
  10. I think the problem here is you don't understand what racism is. Be good for you to find where I've posted something by a known anti-semite and then we can discuss that.
  11. Sorry, it must have been your posting of known anti-semites that led me to believe you didn't like Jews. Apologies though, you just agree with what they write. The Arab thing is a bit weird - this stereotyping of Arabs, who "...I am not a great admirer of..." seems a bit racist to me. In fact, I would say it's the pure definition of a racial stereotype. But ho-hum. I don't think many people in the Western World are fans of people (note I said "people" and not just "Arabs") who treat women as second class citizens, but it is far, FAR from just an Arab problem. It may be worth you reading this, chum: https://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2012/04/the-real-roots-of-sexism-in-the-middle-east-its-not-islam-race-or-hate/256362/ What I find oddest though, is that you are obviously very offended by what I said, yet it was you who decided to bring it all back up? No idea why you'd do that if you found it so hurtful.
  12. "But the facts are unmistakable. At the moment, the pro-Brexit stance of the UK prime minister, and the Leader of the Opposition, rules out this question." Ouch for Corbyn there.
  13. Me saying that perhaps his wife sucked off a gardener is worse than Wes saying he dislikes Arabs and Jews is it? Just trying to work out where the line is here.
  14. I don't think that GM and Les understand that they exist as entertainment for us when we're bored? What's the phrase?
  15. So that's a no then eh? Quelle surprise.
  16. Sorry, where did I say we should stop it there?
  17. I'll apologise to him, if he will apologise to my kids for voting to make them poorer and their lives potentially much worse, if he apologises to the Jews and Arabs that he dislikes, if he apologises for threatening Shurlock and if he apologises for backing widespread violence for if the vote is overturned. If he does that, I'll apologise for saying his wife sucked off a gardener.
  18. ****ing hell, there are some pussies on this forum. It was an off the cuff comment as to why he is a racist/xenophobe. I don't know his wife. I don't know his kids. I don't know him. All I know is what he has posted in this forum. She might not even ****ing exist. How can you insult someone you don't know? If a tree falls in the woods and no-one is around etc...
  19. Why's that an insult? She's with Les, so to me that is a massive tradeup. I was complementing her by saying that she could get herself a young Romanian gardener, rather than an old, racist, sociopath.
  20. I'm not a member of the Rotary, so I really wouldn't care, especially considering I don't remember insulting either your wife or children.
  21. Mate, I'm just trying to help you out - there's no need to be so ungrateful. I'm happy to admit I'm not that into psychology - like you with Economics, Law and Politics - you just seem to fit the profile.
  22. So I was at a Rotary Ball a fortnight ago and I was having a long conversation with an owner of a Construction firm in the Camberley area. We started talking about his fishing boat that he's just had imported over from the US, and we started talking about where he tends to do his sea-fishing, and the potential conflicts Brexit would cause. Now this guy is a self-made, multi-millionaire, who has an amazing amount of confidence in what he says and does. He starts talking through the fact that he voted to leave, the reason for it etc. He then, completely of his own accord, admits that he made a big mistake in the way he voted, and if he could have his vote again would be voting to stay. His reasons for staying were due to muliple factors - the fact that he believed what he was told by the leave campaign and was "****ing duped like a mug", and his workforce - he's happy to sponsor those from the EU for Visa's if they need it - but it's more due to the upheaval and worry it's causing a lot of his employees, and the human toll it seems to be having. I have to say I have so much respect for the fact that he admitted this. In other news, I have been invited fishing with him once he's into his new moorings (he's moving from Southsea to Port Solent for some reason).
  23. This is not just about 'opinions' now, this is someone with dangerous delusional thoughts - he seems to be one step away from a fully blown sociopath. How many of these can we tick for him: - Having an oversized ego. - Lying and exhibiting manipulative behavior. - Exhibiting a lack of empathy. - Showing a lack of remorse or shame. - Staying eerily calm in scary or dangerous situations. - Behaving irresponsibly or with extreme impulsivity. - Having few friends. - Being charming--but only superfically. - Living by the "pleasure principle." - Showing disregard for societal norms. Definitely at 7 out of 10 - not sure if he has any friends (I would certainly guess not), or if he lives by the "pleasure principle". Definitely doesn't seem to be charming.
