Oh my God, are some of these Saints fans for real? A) Great deal for Saints. 30m is a massive amount of money for a LB at any age. Add to that his career could be ended at any time. B) Brilliant deal for Shaw. He is moving to the biggest team in club football and earning 100k per week. He'd be utterly mental not to take it. C) Good deal for United. Evra is off and they are in need of a player that can go into the role and develop into a great LB. Yes, he'd be leaving us, but it's a no brainer for the lad and for us.

That is possible, but is Moyes record with youth actually that bad? Yeah, he didn't see Barkley (although last season may have been a bit early), but he did play/buy youngsters such as Rooney, Rodwell, Coleman, Osman, Junjuaz etc...

In addition, it doesn't take 100's of millions to get to the Champions League, Everton have nearly done it and they haven't spent anywhere near that.

Title is wrong. Don't usually like Samuels as he dislikes Saints, but it is a good article. However, the FFP regulations aren't THAT bad. It promotes sensible spending within a financial model. Yes, we won't be allowed to spend 100m to try to upset the elite, but we know we won't be doing that anyway. And as City have shown with their insane sponsorship deals, there are ways around it if Katherina wanted to invest large amounts.
