Yoshida was brilliant. Well played ref for not falling for that dive from Alonso. I must admit I was holding my breath... Great point, and important to stop the run of defeats. A win in the cup next?

How good was Maya by the way? Fantastic performance.

Thanks! That's much better! Low res, but not buffering!
-
anyone found a stream that isn't horrendous? All the ones that I have tried are buffering terribly...
-
It's on NBCSN I think. In which case it should be possible to get a low res stream through e.g. cric free. Watch out for all of the dodgy pop-ups... I use Opera Browser as it includes a built-in free VPN.

Aha - this works on Opera Browser (which has an integrated VPN): http://hdgameslive.com/boca45.php

Anyone found a stream?

Our defence it utterly shocking. None of the centre-backs are good enough. Not one of them.

Saw absolutely nothing from him against a poor Stoke side to suggest that he has any value to the team
-
He's stealing a living. A shot on target against us pretty much = a goal at the moment. Total joke.

EDIT: Just tried Opera Browser (enabled VPN in preferences, selected Germany as the location) and it seems to be working. I'm using a Mac.

I successfully used the SportsMania voucher, but it says I need a VPN. The ones that it points to on the forum are a Chrome add-on which it says is free, but I can't get it to work without signing up for 'premium', or a list of 'cracked' Andoid VPNs. Sorry, but if someone is clever enough to crack the code then they are clever enough to add in dodgy code of their own. So... I need a free and trustworthy VPN. Any advice, please?!

I have been a SportMania user for ages. That coupon code no longer works. I have a Mac and also an Android tablet with Kodi. Could anyone please advise me what my best chances are of streaming the Saints game somewhere? Not sure I have the time or inclination to set up a VPN... I could install e.g. Opera browser on my Mac, but what am I then connecting to? Is it better to try and get a stream from somewhere other than Kodi? Thanks!

This, this, 100% this! In the Huddersfield game we were totally unable to keep possession of the ball in their half, let along create chances. How many crosses into the box were there? How many well-judged through-balls. I did think on a few occasions that someone like Pelle, winning headers and holding the ball up, could help to bring the ineffective supporting trio more into play. But I'm not sure that long-ball hold-up play is what we are 'supposed' to be doing. I think our AMs and full-backs are supposed to fluidly pass the ball around and work their way up the park, before doing something clever and setting up a chance for our main goalscorer. In the last 5 minutes we saw a bit of this (with Long actually doing more damage than Tadic, Redmond or Davis had managed) but for the 85 minutes beforehand it had been hopeless. How much of this was about the Huddersfield pressing and how much about the poor movement, inaccurate passing, backwards passing, poor decision-making etc I don't know. What I do know is that as an attacking force we are miles and miles off what we were under Poch and to a lesser extent Koeman.

I'm amused by the total failure of that article to get its facts right. It contradicts itself about four times: Southampton striker Sam Gallagher earns pay-rise of £22,000 per week Sam Gallagher is paid £8,000 per week for Southampton Birmingham have bumped up striker's wage to £30,000 per week this season Birmingham committed to paying him £30,000 per week, an increase of £8,000 from his deal at St Mary’s. Sam Gallagher will see his pay boosted from £8,000 per week to £30,000 per week It is understood Birmingham are paying Southampton a loan fee in excess of £1m as well as improving Gallagher’s £22,000 per week personal terms by 36 per cent. The Daily Fail...

If we give him the average 30m sprint time of our squad (3.95 secs, and giving him this is generous) and then assume he is at and can maintain his top speed of 8.9 m/s for the remaining 70m (a very very generous assumption) then his 100m sprint time would be 11.8 seconds. If we take Shane Long's 30m sprint time (3.64) and assume that he can cover the remaining 70m maintaining his top speed of 9.85 m/s then his 100m sprint time would be 10.75 seconds. I could believe that Shane might be somewhere in the region of 11 seconds. Gardos is probably over 13 seconds for the 100m...

When you walk through a storm, hold your Hoedt up high And don't be afraid of the dark At the end of the storm, there's a golden sky And the sweet, silver song of a lark Walk on through the wind Walk on through the rain Though your dreams be tossed and blown Walk on, walk on With Hoedt in your hearts And you'll never walk alone You'll never walk alone

Interestingly the club have now edited the video so that these data are no longer visible

Maybe this will work:

The 'behind the scenes' video featured a whiteboard with player physical performance stats. I love a bit of data so I typed it up into a spreadsheet. The numbers in the bottom right hand corner were only visible on a wide shot so there is a little bit of uncertainty about these. Some interesting numbers though... Interesting to see how some players (e.g. Boufal) are seriously rapid in sprints up to 30m but that doesn't translate into top speed. Long is rapid in sprints and and also has a high top speed. Virgil is a freak in a good way. The bodyfat scores are interesting too. Overall it makes for interesting reading. I can sort it in various ways for ease of comparison - just ask. I have no idea how to attach an image to a forum post - can anyone enlighten me? Note that for the yo-yo test a high score is 'good'.

It shouldn't be news, but it is because sadly football is lagging behind the rest of society. It's news in the way that Gareth Thomas (rugby) coming out was. I hope that the trajectory that we're on will mean that eventually it will be a non-issue, in the way that it is (isn't) in women's football. I'm proud though that yet-again our club is showing itself to be progressive and inclusive. Kitman Forbsey just posted a lovely supportive tweet to Hugo and the club have done things like mark pride days etc with appropriate tweets. Long may it continue. But yes - he came out ages ago.
-
Yes, we probably could win something with this strategy. Like Portsmouth did. Leeds were awesome for a while with this strategy. QPR tried it but the missed out on the initial success. The common thread - they are all f#cked now and in the lower leagues. Thankfully the people running our club are not cretins.

Spunking a bucket load of money on a player who will have next to no market value at the end of his contract with us sounds like a pretty poor idea IMO.

Might not have to wait LONG for the next bit of transfer business...
