If he does sign for QPR, he's nailed on to score against us next month!

Chelsea vs Southampton KO moved for TV
Ulrich van Gobbel replied to Ulrich van Gobbel's topic in The Saints
My company is one of Chelsea's sponsors so I'll be in corporate for this one with clients. It'll be the first time I've ever watched Saints live not sat with fellow supporters.. I'm not sure I'll be able to contain myself when Pellè pops up with a last minute winner after a day of free boozing! -
This fixture has been moved from Saturday 14th March 3pm KO to Sunday 15th March 1.30pm KO to be televised on Sky Sports.

Newcastle 1 - 2 Southampton Post Match euphoria
Ulrich van Gobbel replied to SNSUN's topic in The Saints
I would have happily taken a point before kick off.. Shame on me! What a superb result and performance especially in the context of it being our third away game in 6 days! I am so unbelievably happy. A special mention to the fans who were loud and proud all the way through the game. -
Tobes, Morgan, and Big Vic definitely out. Tadic could be a doubt judging by the way he went off in the Ipswich game. A tough fixture and a third away trip in 6 days.. How will we line up? Would you take a draw? Go..

What is it with the overreactions? Toby and Morgs are out for 3 weeks - so they'll miss Newcastle and Swansea and most likey be back for QPR on 7th Feb. Big Vic looked like a pulled hamstring so that would be 3-4 weeks as well - could be more or less - so he too could be back for QPR. We managed ok without Morgs/VW vs Everton with a midfield of Davis/Reed/JWP - Newcastle away will be a tougher test but missing those players isn't an automatic loss.

What a difference a year makes.

Schneiderlin: Southampton can 'shock the world'
Ulrich van Gobbel replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
I've been resigned to Morgan Schneiderlin leaving at the end of the season since he was told he's staying last Summer. Even when I've allowed myself to dream of a Top 4 finish this season, I still thought he would move onto a bigger club regardless. He has been a fantastic and loyal servant for us despite the blip last year and he would go with my best wishes. However, reading that article makes me wonder if (a big if!) we could provide CL football to him next season, would he stay with us for another season to continue the journey or even sign a contract extension? I usually wake up at that point. If he does end up leaving then I would not accept anything less than £25m. -
I've said it before on a previous thread and I'll say it again.. If Jay Rodriguez wants to leave Saints then we should take the cash and let him go while we can. It would be a huge insult to Southampton Football Club if he is angling for a move elsewhere. The club, his current employer, has put in a huge amount of time, effort and resources into his rehabilitation from a potentially career ending injury for over 10 months by the time he kicks a ball in anger again. It would be particularly galling if he wants to go to a club like Spurs who could potentially finish below us this season...reuniting with MP might be the main incentive there. If he was to go to City he would have to join the queue behind Aguero, Bony, Dzeko and whichever other proven international forwards they have on their books at the time. He arguably wouldn't be in our 1st XI if he was available on Saturday and he only needs to look at some of those who left in the Summer to realise that the grass isn't always greener. My heart bleeds for you Dejan. If he does go, I'll be happy that the club did what they could to keep him and confident that any transfer fees will be invested in a quality replacement. We lost our 2nd and 3rd top scorers from last season and it hasn't affected us this season. However, my hope is that Jay is desperate to get back in a Saints shirt to repay the support from the club and fans in helping him back to full fitness - his name was sung during the final five league games of the season after his injury. And if he ends up signing a 5 year contract with Saints some time this year - great!
-
Ridiculous, isn't it? I remember reading that on wikipedia when we were linked with RK in the Summer and thinking that most strikers would be happy with that goals to game ratio during their career!
-
I agree.. And I hope we're right.

I thought Saints couldn't perform against any of the 'Top 4' teams? 7 points out of the last 9 against 'Top 4' teams tells a different story. Superb performance and the perfect revenge for United's smash and grab win in December.

Clearly a tactic to deal with Pellè's physicality. Luckily, it didn't work!

His Celtic chant is brilliant... If only idiots at St. Mary's could sing it SLOWLY.

FA Cup Fourth Round Draw - Saints/Ipswich v Crystal Palace
Ulrich van Gobbel replied to nta786's topic in The Saints
The replay vs Ipswich Town will be shown live on BBC. http://mobile.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/20150107-ipswich-town-fa-cup-replay-bbc-2187386.aspx -
Confirmed - The replay will be shown on BBC. I was convinced they'd go with one of the all Premier League ties. http://mobile.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/20150107-ipswich-town-fa-cup-replay-bbc-2187386.aspx 3 games on TV in 6 days, what could go wrong?
-
I don't believe he will go in January but I'm sure he will go in the Summer. We may have a chance if we finish in the CL spots but I still think he may go if we do. In terms of value we cannot accept anything below £25m.

Please wait until at least the full time whistle before spouting any negative drivel. Thanks.

250 games of Schneiderlin: Your favourite Morgan moments?
Ulrich van Gobbel replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
When he started the first game of this season. -
What part of North London is he from?

What an absolutely brilliant way to kick off 2015! Big Vic was absolutely immense today, he's having a great season! I thought Gardos was very impressive today too, he is a very confident, composed, cultured CB. FF definitely deserves praise today too, he was solid at the back and his save just before we scored our 2nd goal was absolutely crucial in securing the win. When Mané went off I think everyone was expecting to see Shane Long but I thought it was an excellent decision to bring on Harri Reed with his energy and break up play. In fourth place on the 1st January 2015, who'd have thought it!? This tees up our next league game away at United!
-
I'm in Block 39 two thirds up and I thought it was pretty decent today.. Not as good as the Everton game but it's easier when you're winning 3-0. I thought Chelsea fans were very quiet.
