Absolutely disgraceful non story trying to character assassinate Roy and destabilise the team ALREADY! You'd think they'd at least wait until next year...

Croatia are guaranteed a play off spot whatever happens. It could be a very tough draw with the likes of Spain, France, Sweden and even England in the hat if we balls it up tonight. -
Thanks Gemmel and The Cat - much appreciated. Great to hear how highly Xavi thinks of MLT and I just burst out laughing on the Reading to Manchester train when I read the bit about Scholes chipping Schmeichel in training! Brilliant!

If you manage to consume c£200 worth of food, snacks and booze on the day then you only have to pay for travel essentially. Challenge accepted.

Interested to hear what SAF and Xavi had to say about Le Tiss if anyone who went can be arsed to summarise?

2nd best defence in Europe (Top 5 Leagues)

This really is a stunning statistic that I would never have believed in a million years before the season started. It is testament to the signing of the superb Lovren and how he has made Fonte really step up his game (I always thought he had all the attributes to be a good PL CB), the excellent Boruc who is the foundation of our defence our brilliant young full backs and the Schneiderlin/Wanyama combo shielding the back four. Poch was a fine international CB in his time and he has clearly had a great impact on our defensive shape and organisation too. The rest of the league will be looking at us knowing how hard we are to break down and score against which shouldn't be underestimated. -
That Idiakez would definitely make a **** defence.

I believe be could still technically play for England, Monsieur Ours. However, I seem to remember him ruling this out as he is a proud Frenchman and wants to ultimately play for the senior team.

I think bonus points for the most random and obscure.

Superb signing and will be a great player for us.

The worst thing is the plastic cheese they use.. Where is the Gruyère FFS? Surely Cortese can do a deal with a Swiss cheese supplier? We'll be the laughing stock of the Champions League next season for our poor catering and budget cheese.

Duplicate - effing phone.

Howard Webb plays for United!? To be fair he'd be a much better CB than Rio was against WBA!
-
We can afford the lose... and United still won't be ahead of us! A draw would be a superb result after playing so well in the same fixture last year.

This definitely needs to get going at Man U away.. Using the Gaston song yesterday was embarrassing.

He has been absolutely superb this season. A fantastic bit of business signing him up for free! He got better and better last season and now he's had a solid preseason he is looking fit, sharp and agile. It's his positioning for me which is excellent and shows what an experienced international keeper he is. He is still relatively young for a keeper too.

Heard the Celtic Wanyama song get an outing in the Northam today from where I stand in Block 39. It has been stuck in my head ever since!
-
Totally agree with this.

He did struggle at times today - yes. It was his first PL start of the season up against a rapid, tricky and lively winger in Dyer. However, the abuse and derision aimed at him today is entirely counterproductive and would have simply drained his confidence. I noticed that Wanyama misplaced a couple of passes and both Dejan and Fonte made clearances which went straight to Swansea players - nothing. As soon as Fox made an error the groans and abuse started. He may not be Luke Shaw but FFS support a player wearing our shirt and trying his hardest to help the team succeed.

St Gallen fans were unreal! Who said the Swiss were boring? Agreed about Swansea fans...definitely not the worst.
