The thing that really stands out for me with Luke is his strength for a lad of his age. It would be easy to assume that a 17/18 year old would be out of his depth playing against fully grown and experienced professional footballers. However, he is a big lad and stands up very well to the rigours of Premier League football. At the Stoke game on Saturday I saw him go shoulder to shoulder with N'Zonzi and he came out on top. His consistency for someone so inexperienced is also extremely impressive! He is in the right place and I hope he is our left back for many years to come.

They were very poor. We weren't that much better, too many day trippers.

Freak bounce, freak goal.. Boruc not at fault. He has been superb for us this season and without him we wouldn't be where we are in the league. I thought he was very gracious to face the media and apologise afterwards. I was equally impressed by Begovic as he didn't celebrate and was very humble about the incident speaking after the match. Boruc says he will win the 2 points back in the next few games. I believe him.

My 6 fold came in today: Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal, QPR, Coventry, Wolves today.. Paid for the day out in Stoke today!

Crowd "disturbance" in front row of block 40?

Colinjb's post was edited after mine.. Fair enough then! -
John Boy Saint - I just want to say thanks for the brilliant parking advice. I parked on the verge by the roundabout and was back at the car at 1710 and home to Maidenhead quicker than some home games!

Yeah I saw that from where I was.. No idea what happened. Couldn't quite understand why they would be kicking off though? -

I didn't hear them at all from Block 39 but we were singing for the vast majority of the game. -
Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

33 years old watching Saints play in our 80,000 seater super stadium in the intergalactic champions league. -
Me and two mates are going to this - first away day of the season - it's not going to be easy at the Britannia. However, looking at how different the team is versus the same fixture last year coupled with how well the team is playing I think we will win by a goal!

Post Match Reaction: SAINTS 2-0 Fulham
Ulrich van Gobbel replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I keep looking at the table and just can't believe it. I can't remember such a one sided game since the L1/Championship promotion seasons when we went out expecting to win every game. Phenomenal performance.. Rickie scores one and creates the other, Lallana a constant threat, Big Vic bossed it.. I'm so proud of this group of players, I'm so proud of the manager and I'm so proud of the fans today! We were bloody loud and gave the boys brilliant support for 90 mins! -
Are you in Block 38? If so, I definitely heard you and your mates singing this vs Swansea!

I'd rather take Aaron Lennon but not sure where either would fit in to our regular system as we don't play with out and out wingers.

No, it isn't embarrassing wanting to celebrate a brilliant player wearing our shirt with pride and playing so well. He has quickly become a fans' favourite not only for his phenomenal performances on the pitch but also because of the way he engages with and acknowledges the fans off it. Football fans celebrate and praise favoured and popular players by way of personalised chants. Therefore, yes, he should have a proper song. As should Clyne. As should Morgan. And Shaw's should be 'He fought Luke Shaw and Luke Shaw won'. Not that s-hite Luuuuke b*llocks.

Agreed.. I actually said earlier in this thread that Palace would beat them tonight. It it wasn't for those stunning strikes maybe they would have. If it stays like this though it certainly makes Saturday a bit more interesting.

1-3 Fulham now..

Excellent praise from G Nev, who I have quoted in the title, and Carra on MNF tonight! I imagine there will be a clip on Sly Sports website on it at some point. They both agree that the team are superbly drilled and the way we are playing is down to hours of hard work and drilling on the training field. Poch's influence shining through. Lovren and Schneiderlin singled out as stand out players at the weekend. Great stuff...many years as a Saints and I'm just not used to this! Long may it continue.

Lee Barnard vs MK Dons in League 1.. 2-0 down at HT.. Jonno Quick quickfire double and Barnard with the winner!
-
Two days extra recovery time won't do us any harm either.. I think Palace will get their first win tomorrow night against them.
-
Minty has nailed it. He didn't have the greatest game today but he is a quality player and will come good! How about enjoying a fantastic team performance, a point away at the champions and being 4th in the table! Time for a beer..
-
Morgan Schneiderlin sha-la-la-la-la! Morgan Schneiderlin sha-la-la-la-la-la! Or Morgan, Morgan, Morgan, Schneeeeiderlin, Morgan, Morgaaaaaaaan Schneeeeiderlin! (to the tune of the French national anthem!)

"Gimme Shelter" - any chance for the next few games?
Ulrich van Gobbel replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Yes go for it.. Away games are where they usually take hold! I think the Celtic Victor Wanyama song will get going tomorrow as well...not original I know but it is a brilliant chant! -
Please, please, please don't be injured..
