  1. 1 ticket for sale, block 26, row 11. Just want £11 face value (including £1 booking fee) for it. At this stage, probably going to have to meet at the ground rather than risk Royal Mail. PM if interested
  2. Can't wait! 5,200 Saints fans with nothing to lose. Biggest away following since, Palace 2012?
  3. We really have put out some average benches in our 2 and a bit years in the prem haven't we?
  4. Does anyone know if that walkway from South Bermondsey station to the ground is still there from a few years ago? I'll be coming on the London overground and it seems the quickest way to do it.
  5. Morally, I'm slightly concerned that our money is going to Gigi Becali's coffers. (google him but essentially he's a racist, homophobic, corrupt, anti-semitic, violent crooked politician-cum-football club owner)
  6. Err 3 I think. West Brom away, Man City away and Hull at home? I may have missed one
  7. General thoughts from yesterday: -I think we'll be ok. Not as good as last year, but ok. -We need at least 1 CB, but this much is obvious. -Gut feeling is that Pelle will struggle. I hope not but can't see him replacing Lambert's 15 goals. -We need a striker. I'd be very happy with Hernandez or (more realistically) Ings. -Tadic looks pretty good. Wouldn't mind him and Ramirez starting together at some point. -Bertrand looked decent. Not in Shaw's class, but he'll do just fine for the time being. -Finally, I wish the season started in 3 weeks, not one. We're a little undercooked which isn't ideal when going to Anfield but I'm reasonably optimistic as a whole.
  8. I thought some Liverpool ITK said it on twitter, and everyone wanted to ignore it?
  9. We'll get wind of it over the next 24 hours. No PL side signs a player completely out of the blue anymore.
  10. Finally, some honesty. Doesn't explain why no obvious replacements have been lined up and signed prior to some of the departures though.
  11. They've bought two future England regulars there for 5 million. Excellent business.
  12. Atletico (La Liga champions) want Javier Hernandez according to the Guardian, to replace Costa and David Villa. Not bad for a guy that can't hold the ball up, pass or play in a 4-3-3, and would have to play third fiddle behind Sam Gallagher and Pelle
  13. If the answer is Kelvin Davis, Olivier Bernard and Nigel Quashie, what is the question? (Transfer related!) The clue is: in the last 10 years
  14. Am I in a parallel universe? A 26 year old with 58 goals in 4 seasons at United and 36 goals for Mexico is suddenly not good enough for us at 15 million? (The cost of a 19 year old right back with 21 professional appearances) Granted, he may not particularly fit into a 4-3-3 as the lone striker, but at the minute we're going into the season with a guy whose had 2 good seasons in the dutch league and a 19 year old rookie. Hernandez is one of the most gifted finishers I've ever seen, but maybe it's me who's mad
  15. This is the level we're working at now, isn't it?
  16. The last few years the club, media and, to an extent this forum have peddled the view that the dressing room was harmonious and full of good natured, mature and decent people as well as good players. I (naively), was proud of the fact that Saints players were such, and thought that the likes of Adebayor, Odemwigie and Nasri were problems other clubs had, and I even believed that Saints were too clever and above the money-grabbing, careerist characters found elsewhere. If there is a saddening, long term consequence of this episode it will be that I and I'm sure many others will forever be extremely skeptical of any statements of loyalty upon signing, bade kissing etc. I don't think I will ever see footballers for anything more than corruptable commodities. I will enjoy their football skills still, but I don't think will ever warm towards them personally again. (I think I may still love Kelvin though!)
  17. My theory on things are/will be: The club legislated and prepared for the losses of Pochettino, Shaw and Lallana and had some replacements lined up, but were taken aback by the Liverpool interest in Lambert. Lambert had to go quickly to complete the deal, and this set in motion agent behaviour and uncertainty in Lovren, Schneiderlin, Rodriguez etc. who are/will be seen as deserters by the club hierarchy. However, to get the best price for them, both parties have generally entered into a silence agreement so as not to give any further leverage to the big clubs. Lovren, Schneiderlin, Chambers and Rodriguez will be sold over this window and replaced with 3 or 4 more fairly cheaply, whilst McQueen, Reed, Isgrove and Targett will be promoted to regular first team slots in order to try and keep us afloat in the league Katharina and Krueger, taken aback by the scale and nature of the Premier League and realising they're out of their depth then sell the club for the best price possible next spring to decent owners, with Saints looking like they'll just about survive. Anyone thinking we'll buy and more than 3 or 4 (when we need 7 or over the next few weeks I think is highly deluded. The promotion of the youth will be given the PR treatment by the club but our luck will run out eventually.
  18. I really want him here. Something like this would work, especially at home: (3-5-2) Boruc Fonte, (New CB), Yoshida Clyne, Scneiderlin, Tadic, Wanyama, (New LWB) Pelle, Ings
  19. The 1979 (Alien) version of Sigourney Weaver, anyone?
  20. 1. Lambert. He might walk around October time to be honest. 2. Pearson. Their owners get ideas above their station when they're 16th or so around November. Cardiff mark II.
  21. It's a tactic from Lambert. Remember Villa are in a bit of financial trouble and Lerner wants to sell the club. If Lerner sells Vlaar for a decent price he'll have recouped some of the money that's been wiped off the value of the club. If Lambert states he doesn't want Vlaar to go, and then is sold from underneath him, it paints him in a good light with the fans (who largely don't like him) and gives him a ready made excuse when they inevitably start the season badly
  22. I've seen Targett play about 10 times now and there's nothing that I've seen to suggest he wouldn't get absolutely eaten alive at PL level. I'd love to proved wrong but I honestly think he'll find his level at championship/league 1. Sims, Reed, Gallagher and Stephens look far more likely to make it IMO.
  23. Gerrard referred to as 'a great servant' for England Lampard referred to his England career as 'great' Wayne Rooney looking like the next captain. ^ These three things hint at what is terribly, terribly wrong about the England team.
  24. £14 million for Borini is obscene. Never really looked like a striker who could lead a line for a PL club last season
  25. Oh and Saints 14th!
