  1. Oh I am 100% sure we won't.
  2. No bloke caught bashing his missus once, has only bashed his missus once. At 21 if he hasn't learnt not to bash his missus, chances are he's not inclined to learn.
  3. I'd ordinarily have high hopes for Ange at an English club. But it's Spurs, where good (and sometimes great) managers have generally gone to die. It probably won't work out, but it won't be all his fault either.
  4. If Boro don't impress you I wonder how you feel about Saints. They were 21st on the table when Carrick took over in October. 17 points from 16 games. They cobbled together 58 from the next 30. The sort of form that could have seen them be in the automatic promotion places if he'd been there at the start. By contrast since October we've stormed our way to a grand total of 12 points. I already find the idea of him leaving a semi-stable, solidly effective, nailed on promotion candidate for the shit show of St Mary's laughable. But throw in the notion that somehow WE would be too big a club or job for HIM in our current state... We have zero chance of attracting him.
  5. It's almost midday in my part of the world, and you are comfortably leading the race for dumbest comment I'll read today.
  6. So what? If that fucking moron Selles wasn't interested in having him play ahead of Elyanoussi or Armstrong, and he's had nothing else to do for four months, why should he give a shit about it. Good luck to him I say.
  7. I am yet to watch any vision of the game, but I reckon our tallest attacking threat should rarely need to to be in a position where he's forced to pass the ball 20 yards to anyone. He should mostly be marauding defenders in and around the six yard box, and getting on the end of crosses we clearly aren't able to put in.
  8. I don't think it'll make a difference who we actually play next season, as all the teams mentioned here would probably beat us quite comfortably. But I am looking for a reason to continue paying for my subscription to watch the Premier League in Australia (while also having to fork out separately to watch EFL games somehow) I'm hoping Coventry make it up.
  9. Gosh with all the negativity in this thread I am starting to think we might be in serious danger of relegation.
  10. Sure. But it's not the record for most direct free kick goals in the Premier League while playing for just one club is it?
  11. If I have to listen to Stevie G speak on our behalf, after living through the last three months with NJ, I might blow my brains out.
  12. It obviously won't be. He'll get it with someone else.
  13. And like an toddler who isn't being monitored, he's picked it up and spread it over everything, all with a big smile on his face. Funny old club. Should have moved RH on in the summer, but instead bought a stack of kids and asked him to make it work somehow. And then when it doesn't we sack him, replace him this bloke who has even less idea of what he's doing, and now when we're even more in the shit we're looking to get some decent, experienced players when it's probably too late. Run like an airside BNB as some might say.
  14. Whenever I need a pick me up in life I can rely on this website to provide it.
  15. Didn't watch it cause I'm not willing to do midweek 2AM wake ups. Give me ten more 1-0 wins this season and I'll be happy no matter what else happens.
  16. Tuchel sacked? What a club.
  17. Yes. As I pointed out. But it remains amusing. To me. You don't have to find it so.
  18. I don't have any issue with AMN coming in, and I know his job is midfield and defence. But only Saints could replace Oriol with a player who presents even less of a goal threat to the opposition.
  19. Can't really see the logic of living through that period of horrendous form in the back half of last season, opting to keep RH on and make the moves we made in the summer, just to then cut him loose after one game of the new season - albeit an awful one. The time to sack him was months ago, when the pool of potential replacements ran a bit deeper than it does now. Doing it now suggests the board has suddenly become a bit reactionary, which is not ideal in itself.
  20. https://keepup.com.au/news/roar-lure-former-premier-league-striker-to-brisbane?fbclid=IwAR003_PGOkDx-4ijw4c4Q9irb1UnCBI7u2QKxbh5wmp2G6iiKJ6jmxBlNgM This is almost certain to end in laughable trainwreck fashion, and I will be here for it. Possibly even worse than the Daniel Sturridge/Perth Glory fiasco, in which the club spent several hundred thousand dollars - which for Australian football is a serious amount of money - for a bloke who made six appearances (one start) and no goals. His biggest contribution was starting a discussion about the ability of local barbers to handle a black man's haircut.
  21. I'm not a huge fan of McCarthy or Forster, but by Christ we make it difficult for our goalkeepers don't we. We could put Ederson in goal and it would make little difference based on what our back four dished up today.
  22. Those last eight games of 2017-18, when Hughes really didn't do much better after he replaced Pellegrino. Those were some turgid displays.
  23. Fair play to Everton for fighting themselves out of it. We don't have that sort of mentality. Lucky for them though that in the space of seven games they got Chelsea, Leicester, Spurs and Palace to basically down tools for them. Very fortunate.
  24. What do we have to do? Shitloads. What can we/will we do? Hard to tell. A list of players NEED to go, but there's no value in them. Long, Redmond, Djenepo, Walcott, Stephens. Possibly Bednarek as well. You're not getting rebuild money from that lot. Two mediocre keepers is one too many mediocre keepers. I don't think we're blessed with super desirable assets, JWP aside, and I would rather we didn't sell him personally. Obviously we need another striker, because Broja is unlikely to be coming back. We either need to find a use for Adam Armstrong or get some money for him somehow. I suspect he'll be staying. Tella hasn't set the world alight, but then he's probably just as confused about how the team is selected as we are. Doesn't seem to be much logic to it most weeks. So you have McCarthy (presumably), Salisu, Lyanco, Bednarek maybe, Tino, KWP, Perraud, Oriol, JWP(???) Diallo maybe, SArmstrong, Aarmstrong, Elyanoussi, Adams, a bunch of kids, and a bunch of holes to fill. Reckon we'll be going into next season hoping the promoted teams really struggle again.
  25. Could probably apply this all the way back to 1885.
