  1. there is a fairly large body of evidence that says putting stephens, manning and downes on the pitch together is a bad idea
  2. Manning would pass back to the CBs from the penalty spot (if he ever found his way up that far)
  3. where oh where did our rapid end to end passing go. was it all a dream?
  4. Presumably we're paying them $7m?
  5. Downes is huge part of the problem for me - I think Charles coming back in his place will make a very big difference to this team.
  6. Pretty familiar pattern for me - can't break down teams, resort to pumping it into the box to no one or shooting hopefully from range. The biggest frustration for me is how much of our attacking play goes through our centre backs - THB admirably presents for the ball and tries to carry forwards but really that should be Flynn Downes' job, he is such a handdbrake on everything. No quality on the ball whatsoever. I really want my CMs to be having 50% of the touches that our CBs are having on days like today. I honestly think he should rebrand as a CB - he spends most of the game there anyway. Honorable mentions to Manning who is garbage and Archer who I don't remember touching the ball. Prob would have taken a point but it is a very frustrating feeling.
  7. surely we can coordinate the barbershop harmonies in Help Me Rhonda?
  8. He’s just the Aldi version of Finn Azaz
  9. If Tonda improves us exponentially, using the goals per game stat as a benchmark for improvement, we'll be on track to score 35,960 goals by the end of the season.
  10. Guys it’s official 👨🏻‍🍳
  11. What year is it?
  12. I find this interesting too, seems hard to reconcile with the David Brent-esque hungry eyes thing. But I also thought "hungry eyes" to the tune of "hungry heart" could be a funny song.
  13. The down(e)s brothers coming on…….. surely he can show a bit here.
  14. His career in an image really.
  15. For all this excellent performance, manning is still shit
  16. This looks like FIFA on easy mode. Happy for Jander, good player.
  17. Errrrr just me or are we playing pretty well? Seem to be working it out of defence faster and more meaningfully.
  18. Which effectively puts us back at the start of the season with Still. An incredible self sustaining cycle we’ve developed.
  19. You’re just repeating what others have said 🦜
  20. Think there’s a bit of a misunderstanding here. He wasn’t “unsighted for the goal”, he is “legally blind”.
  21. Has Corberan been sacked? Interesting to see his name appear - the WBA guest on TSP last champ season talked about him like he was the messiah. Haven’t really followed his progress since.
  22. I’m not excited by Gaz in any way but I don’t need to be excited at this point, I just need normality. A manager who can organise a defence and set and expect high professional standards, and not try to do anything weird. We have good enough players to beat teams without an amazing tactical and philosophical master plan. We just need more discipline in defence and a lot more intent in attack. At least he has experience and isn’t a wildcard. Same could be said of Carrick I guess, neither thrill me, but we just need decent standards for a rebuild right now.
  23. Definitely. Fellows can't really defend and Manning doesn't cross the halfway line. One of the many problems that is so too obvious to everyone on earth except the people in the club.
  24. That little play where he and manning just played it to each other 4 times while Jander is standing in front of them really made me laugh.
  25. Not hard to guess that Aribo and Edozie who haven't wanted to be involved are on the naughty list. Flynn too who's spat the dummy about 4 times since RM left, or just been "too sick to play". I would guess THB thinks he's too good for the club too, the way he carries on every time we concede like it's everyone else's fault. I don't agree that it's unlikely to be Stephens - he carries on like a twat on the field, pulling hair and picking fights with players 10 times better than him - so why not off the field too?
