  1. any chance they could just make us replay the boro fixture? For all the outrage, I personally can't see it being anything other than financial. Makes the EFL look like an absolute joke if they allow 2 games to be played when they are seriously entertaining kicking one out. Also undermines the whole credibility of the competition if a side who finished 5th then drew at home and lost away go through. Millwall could argue it should be them based on merit across the season as they finished above both us and boro. A 6 point deduction for sending someone to look at a training session would be the same punishment as received Leicester for cheating over a period of 3 years. If they did apply a sporting sanction, you'd think it would be worth it for Saints to throw many millions of pounds in legal quagmire towards the EFL a la Man City, and I doubt the EFL would really want that as they'll know they've made a decision without precedent. I felt the dot points gave me a bit of clout there, agree?
  2. Both were Matsuki - a handball where his arms were raised above his head, which the ref comically said hit his shoulder (it didn't). Definitely seen them given but not totally clear cut. The other one was early on, when Matsuki wound up for a huge clearance on the edge of our box, then someone nipped the ball away and he laced a Boro player's ankles. Honestly wouldn't have been surprised if either of them had been given, but both fall into the "definitely an outfield free kick but not a penalty for some reason" category.
  3. agreed, and unlike peak Russball, Peretz is willing to blast it into the next postcode if things get too hairy.
  4. I think we should have a competition to find the most outrageously over the top hurt comment from that thread, it is so hard to choose
  5. I thought that said Salobrena Dogging for a moment, good day to be in the bushes with a long lens!
  6. what about a bit of Hank Williams? Our cheating scout will make you weep you'll cry and cry and beg for sleep
  7. Adam and Jo went with Ryan Manning which I thought was interesting for a guy who (fairly) copped a lot of flak at the start of the season. 43 appearances and 8 goals. For me it's Jander - the team just plays better when he is in it in my opinion.
  8. i hate seeing players get matey with a ref. i don't believe any player has anything other than contempt for refs and they're just sucking because they think they have a chance to sway him.
  9. not sure about the colour but i thought his hair was looking a little more fulsome this evening. maybe that's why he was on the bench, sore from new implants?
  10. An unexpected place to share for sure, but one of those passages that was etched in my brain from years of study. Another one was the opener from the Merchant of Venice: “in sooth, I know not why I am so sad” …though over the last few years pre-Tonda it’s been pretty bloody obvious why I’ve been so sad, o good Sirrah!
  11. from Macbeth (Act 1, scene 3): "But ’tis strange. And oftentimes, to win us to our harm, The instruments of darkness tell us truths, Win us with honest trifles, to betray ’s In deepest consequence.—"
  12. that was hilarious. more like pushed him in the chest to make sure he stayed down!
  13. honestly should have been drafted to saints squad as a commercial decision - shirt sales through the roof
  14. didn't charlie austin and adam armstrong both score on debut?
  15. I remember seeing him score on debut, absolutely clinical in a 1-on-1 and thinking, "we're going to be ok after all"........ we weren't. Consistency and decision making clearly the two things preventing him becoming a top flight striker. Obviously lumping long balls to him would never work but nobody would care about his size if he scored even half the sitters he missed. Interesting summer window coming up!
  16. he can't seem to formulate sentences quick enough for live commentary. unfortunately for him he sounds like Porky Pig when he gets excited. He's generally better on the post match podcast. I like him, I hate it when you watch other coverage and there's a biased ex player from the other team. At least he cares (and rips on Baz).
  17. Feels good to score a shitty scrappy goal, don’t do it often enough
  18. Only just watched the extended highlights. 3 main takeaways for me were: 1. Manning is shit 2. How the fk have we not scored some of those chances 3. Jo Tessem saying when Stewart scores "Finally, someone gets in front of or behind a defender!"
  19. Sometimes when that feeling sets in is just when Saints are most likely to cruelly offer you something that keeps leading you on..... 5-0 incoming
  20. ahh right right, that makes sense. I am not across fotmob, I was just trying to see what minute he got subbed and saw that graphic so chucked it in. Thanks for clarifying!
  21. For anyone interested (not many), he started for Hamburg, played 78 minutes, the team lost and he was the lowest ranked player on fotmob. I want him to do well so they want to keep him permanently. I was just curious so I thought I'd share, and look forward to now forgetting about him for the rest of the season.
  22. THB also seems to be our main goal threat the last few weeks
  23. I don't speak German, can anyone translate 'massifwankë'?
  24. there is a fairly large body of evidence that says putting stephens, manning and downes on the pitch together is a bad idea
