Good luck to him but not terribly sad (or surprised) to see him leave. He's a good player but I don't think he fits into the role Ralph wants his two central midfielders to play. Glad to get this over the line, and Lemina out too - should give us a chance to get a decent Hojbjerg replacement in.

Since when has Crystal Palace been "the pride of South London"? Bit of a strange signing for them, Eze looked quality from the glimpses I got of QPR last season but it's a Roy Hodgson team. Zaha must be off, no way they play with two tricky pacey wingers, I think Hodgson's heart would give in.

I think going into the season with JWP and Romeu as first choice, and Smallbone/Jankewitz as back up is fine in theory, but if JWP got injured for example (or needs his oil changing!) then surely we wouldn't be content with Romeu and one of the other two for a stretch of games.

Have to wonder about his decision to move to Juve, by all accounts he's not a CL-level player if his only links to the Prem were us and Villa. He'll struggle for time at Juve but I expect his bank manager will be pleased.

Jesus, what a bunch of whiny children on here. Yes the site is having problems, but unlike Twitter/Facebook/Daily Mail/other places you all crawl around, SWF is one guy doing this in his spare time for a loss, upgrading to try and improve the functionality of this site that we all use for peanuts, or for nothing at all. The fact that @stevegrant is being so transparent with his updates is certainly more than you would get from other sites. Not sure if the responses here are getting me riled up because I work in IT where deployment of new software is never smooth, or just that my mother raised to treat other people with more respect.

Whoever goes to Barca this season will be sacked by the end of the season, the issue is with the board and an aging squad. They need a big rebuild and overhaul, but will still be expected to win the league and CL whilst doing so. They are not in a great place financially, all their players are on crazy wages and Covid will have affected sale prices. They've just swapped Arthur, one of their most promising young players, for a 30 year old from Juve to balance the books. And Ter Stegen, their most important player after Messi, is now out until winter!
