Wouldn't be surprised to see Potter on the move with all these vacancies.

The Brentford v Swansea play-off final was being billed as "the £178m game", I don't think it's a huge stretch to say without Danny we would be much less secure in our PL status. I think he's worth more to us than any sane club would be willing to pay (£60m bids from West Ham or Everton notwithstanding...). Run the contract down.

I suppose with Maguire out injured (though weirdly still in the squad) we're preparing for the 3-4-3 (or 7-2-1 more accurately) set up, which makes sense on paper. But that relies on our front 3 being absolutely on top of their games. Kane's had a great season but Rashford and Sterling have been awful, and Grealish is coming back from injury and hasn't played in months. They will have their work cut out; and heaven forbid Kane gets injured.
-
Still, I expect at least one of the injury-maybes will pull out in the next week and I'd expect JWP to be top of the list to replace them. He could still play.
-
Seems like madness to me, our player of the season and would be perfect for the way England play/score goals. Dropped for one of four right backs or an injured top-four player - as is always the way with England.
-
Shame it's someone that wears red and white stripes though!
-
Brentford 2-0 up already in the play off final, Swansea well off the pace.
-
Walker has won the league with City twice, will almost certainly play in the Champion's League final, and will be starting for England at the Euros and likely the World Cup next year too. Rose was Newcastle's third choice left back. Of course he wasn't paid the same.
-
Might get some insurance money back if it's literal!
-
Genuinely wouldn't want Rose if he was paying us to play. Hasn't played in years, by all accounts a massive knobhead with a large ego and vast over-estimation of his own abilities ("heard anything from Milan?" before going to sit in Newcastle's reserves), over the hill and basically everything we should be avoiding (apart from being a left back).
-
Looks good, would have preferred a striped back but I guess once it's got a massive number/name on the back it doesn't matter too much. I will probably buy it (from a knock-off Chinese website, at least). When's the away/third kit out? 😇
-
Good question but I assume so, he's 26 and plays regularly in La Liga. Who knows though!
-
I've just seen on Reddit that Galan was statistically the third best LB in La Liga playing for Huesca, and has a €4m release clause now active since they were relegated. Surely the sort of deal we should be all over, but he's getting linked with the Big Boys™ so probably a non-starter for us.
-
Not a bad guess actually, Armstrong also suffered quite badly and took him a good few months to get back to full form. Hopefully a full pre-season and a shiny new contract and Danny will be firing on all cylinders next season.
-
My ideal too. Fraser we can possibly shift off to Celtic again, maybe as a makeweight for one of their players, but I can't see anybody wanting McCarthy for very much money. Possibly one of the promoted sides? Norwich have Krul (33), Watford Foster (38) and Swansea's main keeper has been on loan from Newcastle.
-
Wot no Pompey players in the England squad AGAIN?

Jannik Vestergaard - Official: Signs for Leicester
igsey replied to ChiefScummer's topic in The Saints
I think the best move would be to spent the summer/pre-season getting Vest used to playing on the right side of defence (I'm sure he's played there for Denmark?) and play him next to Salisu. -
Even if they did, Man United have a 25% sell on clause so that's a big chunk that Palace won't see. Didn't they spend a big chunk on Liverpool's 6th choice CB with the AWB money too?
-
Thought he was poor again yesterday, good movement for his chance but fucked it up, did nothing else of note. He seems to have a very good talent for being as far away as possible from the ball when we start an attack.
-
Wonder if Norwich would take Redmond back? Romeu on at half time please.
-
Shocking from Bednarek. McCarthy should do better too.
-
I agree, he looked excellent against Bournemouth - probably because he was confident as he was against a lower level of defender.
-
Just put in a very good cross for KWP though on his weak foot...
