  1. He's never going to resign. He will have to be pushed by the Tories, and somehow I don't see him contentedly sitting next to Theresa May on the backbenches. He's always been in politics to benefit himself and his wallet, nothing more. Once he's forced out he'll slink off to earn millions for some shady corporations.
  2. It's this season's "back problem".
  3. Seems to me he's very similar to Tielemans at Leicester, though maybe without the long-range bangers quite figured out. Tielemens is being linked with all the big clubs for big money at the moment.
  4. Trippier and Wood - short term signings for silly money. Wouldn't expect anything else from Eddie Howe.
  5. I'm optimistic we can get him, if not now then in the summer, on a permanent transfer. Chelsea have Lukaku and Werner who are both on long contracts, huge wages and massive price tags to live up to. Sure Broja's on a long contract too, but he's 20 without many (any?) appearances for Chelsea. He's not going to be on silly money just yet. I think £20m and some favourable clauses for Chelsea will do it.
  6. Kidderminster beating Reading too!
  7. Wow, no dicking about with that line-up. Should breeze past them, just hope for no injuries.
  8. Do we know how Swansea are doing for Covid/injuries? They're 17th in the Championship but I'm not going to pretend I've paid them any attention for about 3 years.
  9. I watched him at the Camp Nou in 2019 and he was getting booed every touch by the home fans, booed before the game and when he was subbed off. Can't be the best circumstances to perform in.
  10. We should have £15m or so kicking around from profit in the summer - we sold Ings, Vestergaard, Gunn, Lemina and Obafemi for around £55m and bought Armstrong, Perraud, Lyanco and Livramento for around £40m. Assuming we were being told the truth when told the £70m loan was for cashflow purposes, then we've got the capital to pick up a good deal or two without the new regime having to put their hands in their pockets.
  11. Is Willy even still contracted to us by the time this game rolls around?
  12. They said we wanted to continue in our transfer strategy but with more opportunities - now we're stockpiling Mohammeds as well as Adams.

We're all Saints fans and most of us are British. We're not used to good things happening, or being happy.

All the usual journos on Twitter convinced this is real.
  16. Big point away from home at the mighty 10-man Cambridge United to keep them within touching distance of playoff heartbreak.
  17. I am enjoying the raft of pundits and armchair managers coming out saying the 4-2-2-2 system at United is stupid and never going to work no matter the players...
  18. As a part-time Bristol City fan (made it to more Bristol games than I have Saints games these last few years), Bentley would not be a good signing. He's fairly similar to McCarthy, though definitely more vocal, but makes the types of saves you'd expect an average keeper to make with nothing more. Doesn't control his area particularly well, and his kicking is poor. Perhaps he's more reliable than McCarthy at keeping the ball out the net but that's not saying much. Don't expect many City fans would be too upset to see him leave.
  19. You, me, and every other Saints fan.
  20. You asked for the reason, not justification for that reason.
  21. Another draw that feels like a loss. We all would have taken that at the start of the game but disappointing really.
  22. McCarthy makes a pig's ear of it again. Just lucky there was nobody waiting to pounce this time.
  23. Was that offside? Che involved but didn't get the ball? Not sure on the rule there.
  24. Elyounoussi coming on. Hopefully for Armstrong, I predict for Adams.
  25. Think he's just knackered, to be fair.
