Toughest test so far for our defence - let's see how good Lovren really is!
-
I realise we're lacking up front options, but I can still thing of about 300 Englishmen I'd rather see on the left than Ashley Young.
-
Boruc did well too. Chambers not so great, Lallana and Lovren were our best players.
-
Equaliser! In terms of turned-down penalties. Horrible horrible tackle from Fonte, would be complaining massively if I were a Norwich fan.
-
I just want to watch one Saints game where the referees don't want to be centre of attention...
-
Gaston coming on... for Lallana?! Best player on the pitch so far.
-
Lallana, who has looked excellent so far, whacks one against the post from a JWP free kick. Gaston would be a brilliant player in this kind of game. Wanyama poor so far, Morgan absent - missing Cork, I think.

-
JWP continuing with his excellent dead-ball delivery today by the looks of things. Webb now denying Lallana a definite free kick.
-
Norwich handball, blatent penalty. Not given.
-
If Fox keeps on with these clumsy fouls just outside the box, I hope Howard Webb sends him off before he can do us any more harm.

I thought Monk said the player wasn't Sinclair on the other thread?

Prediction: FIRST PREM MANAGER TO GET THE SACK?
igsey replied to Glasgow_Saint's topic in The Saints
Hughes, Di Canio and Pardew have to be the three favourites. -
Glad we've found a decent set piece taker in JWP! Shaw also looks excellent so far.
-
WBA's record isn't exactly brilliant either...

LIVE: Mauricio Pochettino's pre-match press conference
igsey replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Love the way he's clearly understanding all the questions in English, smiling when something vaguely amusing is said, and then waits slightly impatiently for his translator to finish... -
Anybody know of any around Swaythling/Portswood area? I'm moving there permanently in September, not very familiar with many pubs.

Do we know how likely it is that Clyne will be playing? Certainly didn't see him against RS. Still injured, I presume?
-
I'd hope that if we start a weakened defence with no Clyne, Yoshida or Shaw that MP would start Wanyama, Cork and Morgan in a 4-3-3 formation - would certainly make us harder to get through, and Morgan could probably push up if needed. The front line looked good and fluid against Real Sociedad, I think Puncheon could be our super-sub for this season, and would be a great injection of pace against an already-sluggish defence after 65 minutes of play. Would be good to see Isgrove get a bit of game time too, can see him doing well against WBA's style of play.

As it stands, do we have a better midfield than Utd?
igsey replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Five of Lampard's PL goals this season were penalties, whereas only three of Rickie's were, so SRL scored 12 from open play to Lamppost's 10. Irrelevant to the topic though. I'd agree with the general consensus that centrally we have a better midfield than Man United, possibly one of the best in the league (Chelsea's is fearsome though). -
Woy's ordinary selection process is very obvious when you look at the squad sheet: 8 Man U players 2 Man City 2 Everton 3 Chelsea 2 Liverpool 2 Spurs 3 Arsenal 1 Southampton 1 West Brom/1 Norwich (both goalkeepers). So Rickie's the only outfield player not playing for a team that finished in the top 7 last season - only took half the squad getting injured! Very pleased for Rickie, hopefully he can give the rest of them some tips on taking penalties!
-
That's a shame, he looked absolute quality, would have loved to see him with us. I wonder why he's going so cheap?
-
I'd expect Cardiff to finish a bit higher and I can't see Liverpool reaching sixth, but apart from that it looks fairly reasonable.

Away to Barnsley.
