  1. Sounds good to me, although I'll be surprised if Holtby doesn't go back to Spurs, he's been great at Fulham so far. I'd still like to sign Dan Burn from Fulham.
  2. 1. Boruc 2. Kelvin Davis/Jos Hooiveld (morale) 3. Lallana/JRod/Morgan/Lovren etc.
  3. Yeah, he was poor. But he scored a penalty, so of course he's in Garth Crook's Team of the Week
  4. Oh, I agree completely, I've just seen a lot recently from various pundits and other people saying that loans shouldn't be allowed between teams in the same division, and I agree. I expect Lukaku would cost us two Osvaldos though!
  5. I would take the first keeper of any team other than Norwich! Ruddy not good enough.
  6. I wonder where they'd be without loans this season.
  7. The problem with that would be managers wasting time by challenging decisions that they know were called correctly, as happens in tennis. Maybe if we dropped the ridiculous system of keeping the clock going and then adding on an arbitrary period of time, to the nearest minute, at the end of each half to make up for stoppages and switched to a rugby-like system, where the clock stops when the game does, the challenge system would work. Can't see either of them being implemented, sadly.
  8. I've always been in favour of it, and yesterday's decision is just reinforcing that view. Lallana said after the game that the second City goal was shown on the big screen and everyone, referee included, could see it was offside. People were against goalline tech as well, but look how well that's worked so far this season.
  9. Lallana pointed out in an interview after the match that they were all disappointed - because the goal was shown on the big screens after it went in. He said everyone could see it was offside from that, including the referee and the lino!
  10. Most of the teams that will be going down have decent keepers that would be good backup for Boruc, maybe even challenge him, and would be deserving of more Premier League football: Fulham - Stockdale Cardiff - Marshall Swansea - Vorm West Brom - Foster/Myhill (neither brilliant but better than KD/Gazza) Sunderland - Mannone (been excellent this season) Villa - Guzan Palace - Speroni Personally, I think it'll be Fulham, Norwich and Cardiff going down - Stockdale or Marshall would be excellent additions. I'd pass on Ruddy though.
  11. Not drop him so much as give Gallagher a chance. Lambert's been phenomenal this season, but I think he's already on the plane to Brazil. On the bench if needed for a Scotland-like impact sub.
  12. If Gaston's back, I'd start him. I think Cardiff is a team we can afford to experiment against - solid back 5 (hopefully with Boruc), Lallana, and stick some of the kids in there. Reed, Gallagher, JWP, maybe McQueen. There's backup on the bench if we need it. Prospective team: ----------------Boruc------------- Chambers-Fonte-Lovren-Shaw ---------Wanyama--Reed------- Lallana------Ramirez------JWP --------------Gallagher---------- Course, if we were to put that team out, no doubt Cardiff would remember how to play football.
  13. Taters today said that Boruc is expected back next week.

  15. City have had 3 shots on target. 3-1.
  16. Just seen a replay, and I eat my words. Second goal was miles offside.
  17. I think Luke may have been playing him onside. Either way, it was close.
  18. It's upsetting when the best players of the best team in the country still dive all over the place. I'm not sure I could bring Yaya Toure down if I tried.
  19. Ramirez has an ankle injury. JWP was excellent last week, so there is hope, but losing our top scorer is never going to be good. Let's hope it's not serious.
  20. Lallana is getting a lot of space...
  21. We could do with another stunning Milner own goal here, I think.
  22. Weird, I didn't know Morgan had conceded 9 goals from 11 shots, which is the comment you were replying to. Hth
  23. Glasgow_Saint upon learning Gazza was in goal:
  24. OptaJoe ‏@OptaJoe 3m 37.5% - Paulo Gazzaniga has the lowest save percentage of any of the 36 goalkeepers to have played in the Premier League this season. Test.
  25. No Aguero in their squad, at least. I think it's more likely Pompey win the FA Cup next season than we keep a clean sheet here.
