  1. I'd like us to keep both and sign 2 similarly talented players in both positions. Lack of strength in depth is one of the reasons we've slipped down the table in the last few weeks this season and last
  2. At least we'll get a decent price for him when he leaves now. I reckon there's a chance he'll stick around to start the season, but may well be off in January. If not, then certainly next Summer
  3. Clearly we'll win all 4. Particularly looking forward to beating Sunderland 8-0 again!
  4. Spurs are probably fitter this season under MP then. Hasn't helped them much
  5. Arsenal. So that we can knock them out and perhaps injure some of their key players in the process (not that I'm bitter!)
  6. Why does Saints "run of good form has to come to an end sometime"? Does Chelsea's also have to come to an end? I don't see any reason to expect Saints to lose any game any time soon. Only explanation I can think of is that Lawro hasn't watched us play or paid any attention to what's been going on off the pitch.
  7. Because we've spent money wisely. Particularly on "the black box", without which we wouldn't have made such perfect signings.
  8. Lol we can definately finish above everyone except Chelsea and City. The negativity on here is comical sometimes!
  9. Next few years might be optimistic! Next summer more likely if he does well (look at Lovren). Lets just enjoy a great season with a strong squad before we do this all again next year though!
  10. From what I saw against Liverpool, I'd guess we might finish 10th - 14th. If our forwards can gel, perhaps with another addition, we might better that, but only if our defence can be as tight as it was last season. Hopefully Gardos will be able to influence that as well as Lovren did, but that's a very tall order, and I'd be happier if we splashed out on another top notch CB. If we got all that right, I think it'd be possible that we'll finish as high as 6th. Either way, I've got a feeling in my water that we're destined to win a cup this year. No reasoning or logic to that, I just feel that we will!
  11. The premier league is a farce. If you want to know where everyone will finish, with only 1 or 2 exceptions, just look at each clubs wage bill (we'll finish mid table btw). However, fans organising themselves to boycott matches or even merchandise wouldn't make a huge difference. If everyone stopped paying for televised football, it might impact it a bit, but it'd need to be a global effort - aint gonna happen. Personally, I was sort of hoping the one good thing to come out of the economic downturn was that the money might go out of football, but the opposite happened (and historically, entertainment industries boom during such times - hence the golden age of Hollywood in the 1930's) Despite all this, as soon as I see a Saints team playing another team, my pulse quickens, I raise my voice, every completed pass fills me with pride and every goal is ecstasy! So what if the bigger picture is uninspiring, it's all about those little moments.

  13. The new Brett Ormerod. Dont give a stuff how much we've paid, just glad to see a player who we can count on to give 100% at all times. Great for team spirit that.
  14. Not that I'm superstitious, but getting Crouch back to play in a shirt that closely resembles the one he wore for us when he helped us to relegation would make me feel a little nervous! Not to mention the fact that he's an out and out Skate! No thanks.
  15. I've heard Ralph state that clearly several times now. We're aiming for Europe, but we want to get there the long way because it involves spending less in the short term and supports the efforts of our academy. Think Everton under Moyes.
  16. I'd like to see them make it absolutely clear to the football world that we wont be pushed around and that we're not just making up the numbers. The way NC used to basically. Ok they've sort of said that, but in a less convincing way by also talking about allowing players to leave as long as the price is right! Actions will speak far louder than words now. Morgan and Jay Rod absolutely must not be allowed to leave, no matter how much money is offered (surely we've got enough now!), no matter what they tweet or say to the press (and they should face disciplinary action for saying anything derogatory), and even if they end up in the reserves. It is vital now that other clubs and our remaining players don't think we're happy to just roll over, hand over our best players and drop out of the division to make everyone elses lives easier. Oh, and we need to sign 3 or 4 more decent players. Good luck with that Les!
  17. I could weep! Said everything I want to hear in that statement. My new favourite player! Has to be captain now, surely?
  18. Did he have an enema as part of his medical?
  19. Good article. Agree with pretty much all of that. My only real gripe remains that replacements weren't brought in or possibly even lined up before we sold key players, so yeah, what happens next is crucial. If we get the signings right, we will have got away with it and hopefully the board will count themselves lucky and learn from it.
  20. What's struck me most is how relaxed Koeman's been about the player departures and arrivals in every interview. He's too experienced to be naive imo, and I can't believe that he's spinning bull**** on behalf of the board (no need to, he knows they're lucky to have him and part of his success is due to sticking to his own opinions and beliefs), so I think it can only be that having spent more time with the squad than anyone, he can see that they're not playing any worse than before and have the potential to do as well or better than last season's squad.
  21. Zzzzz It's all history now. Time to move on and support the Saints
  22. yes lol
  23. Would be absolutely amazed! We cant possibly compete with the other clubs in the frame on wages.
  24. *sniff*, we love you too Nige!
  25. Sounds a lot, but after you've bought it and showed it off a bit, I expect Liverpool will offer you twice what you paid for it
