  1. Not sure an attacker who scored 0 goals in the SPL last season is the cure for our goalscoring woes
  2. Sterling is the one player Sweden don't know how to defend against, just needs to improve his finishing. Alli and Lingard have stuck out for me as poor.
  3. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/16336091.mohamed-elyounoussi-joins-the-southampton-squad-in-china/ Cb, CF and cover at RB are the priorities.
  4. I'm guessing a Finite want. A player that has flopped at two big club's like Shaqiri would need to have done way more than he has at Stoke to get another shot at that level. Mid table PL-Top of a weak league is his level.
  5. Alan Nixon says we'd have a good chance of getting Marlon... if we really want him. Also, Marlon's agent used to represent Mark Hughes.
  6. Sam Gallagher will never cut it in PL.
  7. That will be the Radical replacement.
  8. Given he's not considered good enough for Porto and gets loaned out every season, I suspect any Real Madrid interest only exists in the dreams of his agent.
  9. Hojbjerg, Lemina, Romeu, JWP, Davis. Do we really need another CM? Bar possibly the aging Davis all the players he would be competing with are better.
  10. Les Reed wasn't mentioned, strange when his name is usually the first one mentioned in these telegraph puff pieces.
  11. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2018/06/21/dusan-tadic-leave-southampton-join-ajax-clubs-begin-negotiating/amp/?__twitter_impression=true Is it me or is a certain someone not mentioned the last bit about incomings?
  12. I'm more concerned about lack of progress, window shuts before the season starts this year but we seemingly have made no progress on any targets.
  13. Sell the only "creative" player who can create chances for a pittance with no replacement sorted. Sounds like something a competently run club wouldn't do, but this is Southampton so it's probably true. No doubt we'll have some well timed puff pieces from the club's shoeshine boys in the media telling of our great confidence in the recruitment process and claiming interest in players we aren't getting.
  14. Not to mention Benitez probably put pressure on Ashley to loosen the purse strings as a condition for staying on.

  16. Well, if his decision is down to personal reasons relating to location or whatever, not really much that can be done. More worrying is our what our financial status is, since it isn't clear and what that would allow us to do in a market where 1 good season in the second tier is enough for clubs to demand (and receive) £25m.
  17. Forster is available!
  18. Yes, definitely a signing to be bragging about.
  19. Not the worst result as long as we beat Swansea, but where the **** did the ref get that much added time? Looking at the players reactions at the end it looks like that may have broken them.
  20. Excellent result, hopefully the players can take this result and kick on for a strong finish. The other good thing is Huddersfield lost, their last 3 matches are absolutely brutal. Man City (A) Chelsea (A) Arsenal (H) Not unreasonable to think they won't get any points from those games.
  21. Romeu looking like an old man who has escaped from the nursing home and suddenly has forgotten where he is going for the goal there. Also, Bertrand and Hoedt do realise they are allowed to enter the left side of their final third to defend, right?
  22. Another interesting possibility is Huddersfield getting dragged into it. If they lose to Everton tomorrow, their last three are Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal, about as **** a run in as you can get.
  23. Win the next two and Swansea lose the next two and the game in hand between the sides would become loser gets relegated. But 2 wins in a row is in the realm of pure fantasy for this squad let alone 3.

    Mark Hughes

The squad and coaching staff definitely need a major overhaul, but the real question is do you trust Les Reed, Ralph Krueger and Ross Wilson to do it competently? I sure as hell don't.
  25. Dire performances aplenty out there, but the substitutions were just terrible. How was Romeu allowed 90 minutes? What purpose did Davis serve? The refusal to go two up front for the last 20 minutes. Hughes is is as culpable as any player for tonight's result, which has definitely buried us.
