  1. The Chairman of Dalian Wanda (the parent company) Wang Jianlin, is the richest man in China witgh a 14bn dollar fortune.
  2. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/10937549.Cortese_on_the_brink/?ref=var_0
  3. Is he really going to try this on every time he wants more money? If a player were to behave in a similar way to get a bigger contract, they would be getting slaughtered.
  4. Liebherrs don't have pet journalists at numerous major media outlets, Cortese does. Doubt there are any football journalists close enough to the Liebherrs to get fed info.
  5. Blackmore on Solent just now said if Cortese goes, Liebherrs will try and sell.
  6. Update on Cortese in a minute on Radio Solent
  7. not encouraging
  8. Perhaps not new info for many here...
  9. Maybe poor old Cortese was told he could "only" spend 40m in the summer.
  10. If Katharina Liebherr has no interest in the club, she really should sell.
  11. Yeah, considering that it appears he has created a dynamic at the club where the player's loyalty is to Nicola Cortese as opposed to Southampton Football Club.
  12. Ben Smith ‏@BenSmithBBC 3m Future of #SaintsFC chairman Nicola Cortese in doubt with some at club fearing he could leave at end of season. More @BBCSport
  13. OK, just flicked through the Sun sports section in today's paper. Bizarrely for an "exclusive," it didn't make the print version (as far as I could see, I only flicked through quickly)
  14. According to an "Exclusve" in The Sun http://t.co/u3jPkk34Qe Can't cut and paste the article as it is behind a paywall and I don't subscribe. Not really an exclusive though as it was on TuttoMercatoWeb on the 8th http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/serie-a/southampton-cortese-ambito-da-diversi-club-italiani-517134
  15. Poor crossing, sloppy passing and moving the ball around far too slowly. WBA look far too comfortable camping in their own half while we **** about in front of them.
  16. SDR is at Utrecht now and is their top scorer so far this season (7 goals from 16 starts)
  17. Someone set up a fake Saints twitter...
  18. Is that the final where he dished out cards like sweets and then failed to send off Nigel De Jong for a karate kick?
  19. Unless Pardew has quit in some spat over transfers or selling players Newcastle have managed to keep quiet, I would be shocked. edit: guess that puts this thread to bed.
  20. Lallana should have snapped back with a dig at the ref, not like he would have gotten in any trouble for it.
  21. According to Reading's OS, they are going to hold discussions with us next week to see what can be done about getting him back. http://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/article/sharp-020114-1271350.aspx
  22. We were in it first half could have gone in ahead if our players didn't want that one touch too many in the box. Just didn't turn up second half I'm afraid. Overall the difference in the pace of play made the difference. When Chelsea want the goal it's all one-two touch stuff, driving runs into dangerous positions. When we want the goal we dilly-dally, take to many touches, take too long to decide what to do with it and our attacking players aren't in the same league when it comes to finding space off the ball. Kelvin - wasn't bad, could have done more for the first perhaps. Chambers - was excellent for 60 minutes before tiring Lovren - had problems with Torres' pace Fonte - was the better of the CBs today Shaw - was below par, but it could be put down to injury Cork - was generally very good, Morgan - wasn't his usual self, let Chelsea play through us too often Davis - was professional enough, if lacking in the quality to hurt a side like Chelsea Ramirez - promising for the first half, vanished second half Lallana - OK in flashes, too indecisive in front of goal. Rodriguez - Big chance to stake a claim in his preferred position and he didn't take it Subs Clyne - looked uncomfortable at LB, got in behind more than Shaw though. Lambert - Should have done better with his chance, otherwise did little JWP - Not really on long enough
  23. It could be that Rodriguez gets moved up front on a more permanent basis if we sell Rickie as apposed to starting him from the left as he often is at the moment. If that is the plan then perhaps we should look to a winger. For Example Thomas Ince's contract is up in the summer so I would guess Blackpool will want to sell now rather than wait until the summer and receive a measly tribunal fee instead.
  24. If we wanted to make way for Rhodes or another young Striker of RL's size, then we should go for it. Can't really say I've seen enough of Ings to cast judgement on him. Really it depends on whether there would be an intent to sign another Striker if Lambert is sold.
