Thing is about Redmond is that it is 11m when he only has 12 months left on his contract. Saints will probably only get 12-13m for Wanyama who is in a similar contract situation but far more more accomplished in the PL.
-
Yeah he started 24 games, came off the bench in 11 and scored 6 goals.
-
Redmond. 11m. A lot of money for a player who has coasted on looking like he might come good for the last 3 seasons and only 1 more year on his contract. the text on the mirror transfer update suggests it is a bit further along than the bidding stage.

Former Porto, Olympiakos and current Fenerbahce manager who was first linked in the Echo and K billy said was under consideration.
-
His wiki page says he had his Olympiakos contract cancelled by mutual consent and the next day he was announced as Fenerbahce manager. Quit Al Ahli for "family reasons" according to Record https://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=pt&u=http://www.record.xl.pt/internacional/detalhe/arabia-saudita-vitor-pereira-deixa-al-ahli-881510.html&prev=search Bonus: Vitor Pereira arguing with Al Ahli press officer in a press conference.

The mystery man is most intriguing now Not been mentioned because he is relatively unknown here? Not been mentioned because fans and press would assume him out of reach? Not been mentioned because he may be considered not good enough? Mere oversight?
-
So Howe has supposedly said no, Emery is bound for PSG and speculation over Pellegrini to Milan has heated up. So it looks like Vitor or the unknown manager are the more likely atm unless Pellegrini is desperate enough for another crack at the PL that he would snub Milan. Is the mystery candidate someone you have not been informed of, or is it a name the club wants kept quiet?

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/southampton-plan-new-sadio-mane-8143189 De Boer linked again in The Mirror. Other non manager related stuff: - Club want to extend Long and Mane contracts - Mane more open to staying now Koeman is gone since they fell out. - Pelle and Wanyama will leave. - Club doesn't feel losing Koeman is as bad as losing Pochettino, since star players were more loyal to Poch and wanted out as soon as he was gone

Saints announce Virgin Media as new main club sponsor
Bewildered replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
How much money does the club get for this? Must be a decent jump from Veho surely. -
Frank de Boer prefers the PL, PL only has one job available...
-
Lazio, who were rumoured to have chosen Frank De Boer to become their next manager a couple of days ago (http://www.football-italia.net/85466/report-lazio-pick-de-boer), are infact trying to persuade Marcelo Bielsa, with Cesare Prandelli as the backup option according to Gianluca DiMarzio (http://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/eng/lazio-met-with-bielsa-twice-president-lotito-trying-to-convince-him-to-accept/). So that is one possible rival for De Boer potentially out of the running.

Hopefully Les Reed and co realise that saying "not for sale" is well within FIFA rules even if no poaching clauses aren't.
-
Player sales Player signings Rumoured player signings (that end up being untrue) Other clubs signings pre season results new manager appointment Still plenty to look forwards to.
-
Good that we are keeping those two.
-
But how many would go beyond simply not promoting them and decide to criticise them wholesale in the press?
-
RK may be a fan of James Ward Prowse, but is the opposite true? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3520912/Dusan-Tadic-pondering-away-Southampton-Ronald-Koeman-s-abrasive-management-style.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 I mean the part about Tadic seemingly ended up being accurate...

Emery - PSG De Boer - Lazio Howe - Reportedly wants to stay loyal to B'mouth AVB or David Moyes it is then.
-
I wonder why you think Pellegrini would be a lousy choice? Would he not work well within the structure of the club or is it more the principle that the club would have discarded their planning and resorted to a knee jerk appointment to appease the supporters rather than an appointment they were confident would work out? Personally, I think Pellegrini would be a great appointment. But obviously it is more important that the board have made an informed choice rather than a seemingly desperate one that appears good on paper but ends up being a poor fit for the club.
-
To be fair, most of the names you mention had either a CL victory, a league title in a major league or both to their name when they were hired by PL sides. Mourinho - Won Champions League in consecutive seasons with Porto Ancelotti - Won Serie A, 2 Champions League trophies with AC Milan Mancini - Serie A winner 3 times Pellegrini is the exception, but even then he had a spell as Real Madrid manager under his belt and reached the Quarter finals of the Champions League with Malaga, which is further than Emery has taken either Valencia or Sevilla.
-
Emery Moyes AVB Howe. That's the shortlist? Only one of those I wouldn't be happy with (Moyes)
-
Emery is also used to succeeding at a club where the best 2 or 3 players move on every summer.
-
Emery would be a great appointment and would surely settle some of the nerves after Koeman goes. I fear he might be out of our reach though. Howe is meant to have a lot of control over things at Bournemouth and a strong link with them due to his playing career. Could be a risk if he doesn't like Les and Ross Wilson trying to direct things on the transfer front.
-
Yeah, CM who can play AM. 10 assists and 4 goals last season in a poor Werder Bremen side.
