  1. This co-comm is a fucking weapon.
  2. Forgot I wrote this, just saw a notification in an email, but having read it back I felt bad. Was having a bad day! Whoever inherits this has a hell of a task on their hands, and I know most Saints fans are behind the man - we all should be, myself included. In light of the info regarding the kind of deal he's on, SR have played a sensible hand. I really hope it works out for him and the club. He certainly doesn't seem like a 'hipster' appointment. It probably comes across a bit weird to write this, but I just felt like I owed an apology to some people running a football club who don't know I exist 😄

Soundgarden were definitely not metal. #juricout
  5. Fair points.
  6. Fair point, I hadn't seen the 6 month contract bit. Looking for the positives, at least he's very different to RM.
  7. It's not pivotal, but experience is key in most aspects of life. RM knew the league, but knowing the league isn't everything, it's just one element. He fell short of many of the others. Like I say, I hope I'm wrong, but this screams Ankersen trying to be clever again to me.
  8. This fucking board, I swear! Man has only one club he's acheived better than a 40% win ratio at, and that was a Serie C club. He lasted no time at Roma - in fact, this is the Wiki entry: "Jurić failed to turn the team's fortunes and was regularly criticized for his management style and poor results; he was eventually dismissed on 10 November 2024, after a 2–3 home loss to Bologna that left Roma 20th in the Europa League table and only four points ahead of the relegation zone in Serie A." He was at Roma for less than TWO months. His record at previous clubs is better, admittedly, but still doesn't scream "Leave this to me guys, I've got this!" Maybe I'm being pessimistic, but it doesn't inspire confidence (probably because I've got no confidence in the board to get the appointment right). The thing we need is experience, and knowledge of the league. This guy has never managed outside Italy, let alone the UK. They're too 'hip' to go for someone like Moyes, clearly. If it comes off then I hope he proves me completely wrong.
  9. That was encouraging. 1st half was a mess, but that's understandable given the circumstances. 2nd half was the first bit of football I've really enjoyed this season. Genuinely thought there was a chance we could score, and the players were all trying. Thought Matty F was brilliant, and good shows from Archer and also Suga when he came on. Decision not to give foul on Matty at the end suggests ref might be a Koppite to me, but otherwise I'll take it. As lovely as a cup run would have been, we've got more pressing issues to be dealing with. Would have been nice, but it's not season-defining to be out now. There's a faint pulse, that's what the second half showed me. This team should easily have had more points on the board if they were allowed to play.
  10. Thought he was alright until that!
  11. THE banner!
  12. God, we're really missing Jack Stephens...
  13. I won't.
  14. Fiver says he does.
  15. Did you come down specifically for the game?
  16. He's useless in the PL, how they don't see this I've no idea.
  17. Hey Russ - now imagine being a fan and being powerless to do anything about it.
  18. 8th place papered over the cracks - we were closer to 17th than 7th. Much of our finishing position came down to other teams being shit, not us being good. He'd also lost the dressing room. Seemed a good man, but not much of a motivator!
  19. Took longer to read that than it does for our defenders to get the ball to our midfield.
  20. And me. You've nailed it.
  21. Ah fair enough, I only heard a snippet on the radio this morning. Agreed they're still fighting, but for how much longer? Getting embarrassed week in, week out is eventually going to test even the most loyal players.
  22. Away from the standard feelings/opinions from last night, I thought Archer, Aribo & KWP really put a shift in. Wood wasn't horrendous either. Matty F looked to keep trying when the chips were down. RM's comments in the post-match interview annoyed me, when he said it's all about players fighting for each other, and style of play isn't important. No mate, it IS important because if your players can't do it, they all have to work twice as hard as they should have to and when you're overstretched is when you make mistakes. The arrogance is mind-blowing. I liked RM last season, but can't abide his character now. Talks like he takes accountability, yet does the absolute opposite and hangs the players and the fans out to dry.
  23. Hopefully you're right. Certainly not writing him off yet, but he doesn't look like a winger.
  24. He really was dreadful when he came on. Don't like to single players out really, especially if they're new or don't get many chances, but christ he was poor. Would SAA really have offered nothing better?
  25. Well, he's a striker playing in the highest level of league football, so objectively he's a top-class striker. Whether you or I think he should be, of course, is a different matter entirely.
