  1. I would honestly despair for our society of we start locking up morons for what they say on social media. It is I am afraid a very slippery slope.
  2. I have to say Egg that unless you are some kind of 'influencer' it does not really matter, nobody is going to act on it, most of his 'friends' probably thought he was a bit of moron. This is not North Korea, we should not be locking up people for saying stupid things on Social Media.
  3. It is utter madness when we are now locking up arm chair rioters.
  4. Well done on the jump and a very noble cause.
  5. Spoken like a true extremist.
  6. You are more likely to start a conversation with a supporter of a team like Southampton. If I see a Chelsea fan or a Man U or Liverpool I have no urge to talk football because they have nothing to contribute to a conversation that I would be interested in.
  7. What do Shef United and Blackburn say about him?
  8. I thought he did well in the Final in a different role.
  9. I think that he actually admitted he had been clumsy but was actually highlighting that we should be wary about believing everything we are being told about the war. I thought it was a pretty tactless example but agreed with what he was trying to say - we were receiving a lot of propaganda spin at the time that suited Ukraine and her allies and I just wanted to be able to trust the news output I was hearing and watching was impartial. That was not always the case in the early days of the Ukraine war.
  10. Very well put.
  11. and the drummer is a Saints fan.....
  12. Never bet on anything that can talk.
  13. I hope Noodles you can take comfort from the words of so many people who knew him and held him in such a high regard and with such clear affection. It sounds like he had left such a positive impression on everyone he met. You should be very proud. RIP Elijah.
  14. Obviously we don't know what goes on behind the scenes or what was written in his contract but I would have given a right go in the Championship. If he could have scored a few goals that would have given him the momentum in the premier league this season. I also rated Sulemana. He was good fun to watch.
  15. I went to Sri Lanka in the early nineties and I know it was a long time ago but I cannot recommend it highly enough. The war and more recently the bombings mean that it is less touristy and more authentic than other destinations because the tourist industry is less developed. It ticks a lot of boxes in an unspoiled way. Of course I expect that will change.
  16. You have to be a member I think - I am a season ticket holder so don't do it that way. As I said though I am sure that tickets could easily be organised on here. I cannot do every game with my son and there would be many others like us. Your story strikes a chord.
  17. I am sure that between users on this site we can get the tickets if you need them.
  18. It is a great compliment to our club that he chose to follow Southampton. I hope that your 15 year old son gets to come and see us play - hopefully in the premier league next season!
  19. RM has undoubtedly created a good atmosphere in the dressing room and the players play for him so well done for that, credit where credit is due. What is frustrating is the inflexibility of the system he plays. The Leicester debacle highlighted all of our frailties but what was of concern was that we got thumped earlier in the season and learnt nothing at all from that battering. Like a WWI General It was business as usual for the second contest. All this passing, while clearly very clever simply gives the opposition time to regain their shape and organise to deal with our threat. We then get caught on the break and are particularly vulnerable to teams with pace. I think we have a very talented squad which is not realising its potential because of the system RM deploys. I am not advocating his dismissal, i just hope he can recognise the short comings pf his system.
  20. That is not what she was told. She will make the fuss after the results have been published because she does not want to upset the apple cart.
  21. I recently spoke to a student and her work has been checked by software that found that an assignment she had done was 24% completed using AI and punished by being docked 15 marks. She has never used AI but because the software has ruled against her she cannot contest it. She is still on course for a first so her attitude is to reluctantly not make a fuss. Her tutor believes her but there is no course of appeal. Even after Horizon we are still allowing computers to make unchecked judgments. It is scary.
  22. The premier league is a shit show. How can anybody support a team that could be docked points at any time. If a lot of people break the rules then it must mean that the rules are not clear enough.
  23. I think a lot of people comment on Matt Le Tissier without actually listening to what he says. It is an opinion, it might not be mainstream and you can agree with it or disagree with it but don't vilify him for having it and then portray him as being insane for seeing things from a different perspective. Sometimes the audience gets it wrong on who wants to be a millionaire.
  24. Just asking on the off chance that someone might have a spare ticket for Ipswich Away?
  25. Good luck to a good man. Adam Blackmore always said how much Saints meant to him.
