Unfortunately last season Russel Martin demonstrated his unwillingness to compromise by delivering two replica thumpings.

It is so self defeating. All Russell Martin has to do is cut that out of our game and we would be relatively competitive. If I had to be ultra critical, it is his own vanity that stops him.

I think we can take a glimmer of hope from the fact that a few seasons ago, Bournemouth were dead and buried, with their manager Scott Parker saying they were not good enough (as I remember it) only for O Neil to come in and keep them up. One thing for sure is that if we do get a new manager and he keeps us up then they will make a film about it.........

RM's compromise is to pass around the back slightly less so we make slightly less mistakes and are slightly more likley to attack more quickly and the opposition's defence is given slightly less time to organise! We are slightly better than we were but this not not enough.

The issue is two fold; 1 Passing the ball around so much allows the opposition's defence to organise and prepare for any attack we do eventually launch. 2 Passing the ball around our defence results in three or four errors and inevitably opposition goals

Jack Stephens cares about our club and I for one am pleased to have somebody like him in the dressing room. Our problem when we went down last time was because there were not characters like him about the club.

In fairness I thought that the team got it forward a lot more in the first half which I was able to watch and looked more dangerous as a result. There is though still a sense that the defence do not know how 'to park the bus' if we ever need to.

I forgot that soul destroying feeling when the batteries on your Walkman or in my case imitation Walkman began to fade. You were in denial initially but then had to accept reality.

I don't get this passing around the back, not only is it a form of Russian roulette, I find it boring. As soon as we needed to score goals on Saturday we played normally and looked quite dangerous. Make runs and look for the killer pass! Its as simple as that!

How did they not realise in training how good he is?

If we just stopped messing around with the ball in the first quarter we would have half a chance. A lot of the team are very talented.

We also saw him score nine goals. I would recommend that you look for the positives in our players or you will be constantly be down. I would be absolutely delighted to resign a talisman like Prowsey!

If I could just have five minutes of Russell's time to tell him that all the passing around at the back just gives the opposition time to organise their defense.

Quite frankly it is bonkers that they paid £18m for a player and then decided to just write him off after 12 games. Sometimes I think that it would be better to just say to our manager this is what you've got prove yourself.

There must have been something they saw in Tall Paul when they paid a lot of money for him in January 2023. He really did not get a chance to show what he can do before he was farmed out. If I was RM I would put my arm round him if he can reach and have another look at him. With his height he must bring something to the party.
