  1. Unless we change managers we are doomed, in fact it is probably too late! Unfortunately, having made a mess of the Nathan Jones appointment Ankerson is reluctant to lose face on admitting that his new prodigy, while having many positives is fundamentally flawed. The problem is that when faced with appointing a new manager Ankersen will never go down the 'safe pair' of hands route and go for a wily old manager he will insist on gambling to unearth some new pioneering manager to raise his own profile.
  2. It is a good team. We have demonstrated that recently. You cannot though just gift goals away and expect to win.
  3. I like Jack's passion. Its good to have him around the club. Of course that does not excuse the stupidity of getting sent off.
  4. You really could not make this up. It is not the goalkeepers it is their instructions!
  5. "high risk low reward football" - well phrased. Meanwhile up front rather than the use lightening counter attacks to open up defences that would exploit the pace of Archer and Armstrong and the creative flare of Lallana and Dibling, we pass the ball about until the other defence is organised. It is Martin's vanity that is preventing us winning games! All he has to do is tweak things.
  6. And Sulemana is good too and great fun to watch. Bella Kotcha plays for Germany and he is good too. You might just have to show some man management skills. Oh and Carlie Alcaraz was good too and seemed to like the club before he was moved on. Couldn't pass backwards I guess.
  7. I disagree. If we passed it forward and used the height of Tall Paul, the speed of Archer and the creativity of Lallana and Dibling then we would score goals. Defensively I think we are better than last season but create our own issues by passing around at the back. I believe we are a good team if we did things right. I am not a fan of Cooper I thought last season Leicester were fantastic when they thumped us home and away (helped of course by Martin's refusal to change his tactics) but under Cooper were poor when we played them.
  8. Today demonstrated that the players have enough ability to give a bloody go at staying in this league. Unfortunately this absurd passing the ball around at the back will ensure we will be well short. Can Russell Martin not see that! I am an idiot and I can see it. Surely the great guru of the game, Ankerson can see the short comings of this flawed system that generates tension at the back and limits attacking options up front.
  9. Exactly. Sadly we are running out of time to give ourselves any hope of surviving this league. The idea that you just play the same way against all teams in the premier league is bonkers. He has made some concessions to his 'style' of football but almost begrudgingly. What he needs to do is have a different plan for each game.
  10. No refreshment this week Gloucester Saint? Myself I opted for an old classic. 'Red Death' McEwans Export is sadly not even brewed in Scotland any more but still delivers a good experience bringing back memories of holidays in Scotland.
  11. The Breakaway Biscuit delivered a good experience are these still about?
  12. Unfortunately the government have also nailed farmers on their pick up trucks by increasing the tax in them by than 200%.
  13. I think the issue is that they are asset rich and cash poor. Their land and buildings may be worth a lot but their income does not reflect that. They may have a barn that they store corn in that is worth £400k to be developed as a house but they use it for storing corn as part of their farm. If the children of the farmer have to sell of that barn to pay off their inheritance bill then the farm is no longer viable.
  14. You illustrate the motives behind the budget well. A government targeting people because they don't like them.
  15. That is quite an old article. The company was bought by another UK cheese company and is going great guns. The impact of the budget will have more of an impact than leaving the EU on cheese companies.
  16. It was unfortunate that some competitors failed to get to Portugal but I would suggest that the Cheese industry in the UK has prospered since Brexit. There are lots of authentic examples of industries handicapped by the impact of Brexit, I don't cheese is one of them. The article was just another example of any opportunity to blame Brexit.
  17. It might not be an exact science but it is a good indicator particularly for perishable goods. I never celebrated the result but find blaming Brexit for everything rather tedious.
  18. If consumption goes up and imports go down then its fair to say that domestic sales go up or am I missing something? Actually I think the EU could have done more to keep us in but like many they believed the polls and gave Cameron nothing to sell to the people. I voted out thinking it would strengthen our negotiating position in future talks. Those talks never happened and I was wrong but I still think some of the blame for Brexit lies with the EU.
  19. I am a great advocate of free trade but the failings lie with both the EU and the UK....
  20. I think that cheese sales have increased and imports have dropped so you can assume that British cheese sales have increased.
  21. Could the vacuum not be made up of artisan British Cheeses?
  22. If cheese imports have fallen then opportunities to sell British cheese in the UK must have grown. That looks to me like a positive.....
  23. The less rain in autumn the more colourful the trees apparently.
  24. Its been extraordinary why he has not been playing.
