Listen up, you smarmy, face-palming, skate-trolling, sh|tting c^nt. My record is out there for all to see. I can pick up the blower to Cliff, Bob Gledoff, or any other overly moralitistic f>ker with a side-line in arousing large crowds, and not gonna hav a smug pr^ck like you casting dispersions on me.

No one f*cking knows more than me about writing fuk1ng terrace songs. I've won 2 Ivor Nigello's and Bono say's he f^cking loves my work.

Not true brah. Zou Bi-sou Bi-sou Ry Ad-Bou De-Bouz Same syllables and everything. Mine will play to a strictly hipster crowd, while this guff will entertain the dullards who are reminded of 20p calypso drinks and kissing at underage disco's. Probably the same morons who can't sing OWTS at the right speed.

There was me trying to keep it classy and now we've arrived at Black Lace via Abba. Being of French/Algerian descent Boudebouz would love mine x10000 more.

If we do sign him then his chant has to be based on Sophia Loren's cover of the Gillian Hill classic 'Zou Bisou Bisou': Ryad Boude - bouz Ryad Boude - bouz Ryad Boude - bouz Boude - bouz, Boude - bouz, Boude - bouz Means that I love you Repeat ad infinitum. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzSuanegluM

http://www.goal.com/en-ng/news/4082/editorial/2012/05/28/3131759/who-is-ryad-boudebouz-introducing-the-sochaux-star-liverpool Written about a year ago (so no info on lack of appearances last year) but a decent scout report on him. He seems to have been a Liverpool target at some stage, which immediately makes our interest in him more real.
-
Judging purely on youtube clips and Wikipedia info he seems quite a prospect. I know anyone - ahem, SDR - can be dressed-up to look half-decent on youtube, but he looks to be highly technical, pacy, direct with a few tricks up his sleeve. He's racked up a fair amount of appearances playing for Sochaux with a pretty good goal scoring return for a winger (21 in 147 games). Although doesn't seem to have had the best season last year (19 apps and 2 goals) and has been excluded from Algerian national duty for being caught smoking a shisha pipe. That said, he has gained a lot of experience in a league that seems to produce a lot of technically accomplished wingers (Ben Arfa, Hazard, Nasri, Menéz etc.) so if we can get him for around £5 million mark it might turn out to be a great bit of business.

Goal at 0: 52 is amazing: Please excuse the awful music.

Agreed. We've scouted this guy (along with Wanyama) a lot. If he was good enough we would have moved on him. He could well score 10-12 goals a season for Norwich but we are obviously looking at someone who will add more to our play than just a goal poacher. Hooper should do well there and Norwich seem to be doing some good business. Do think that people are exaggerating how well they will do next season though. They had a steady defense but were one of the poorest teams in the second half of last season. Not much of a footballing philosophy to build from (despite the success of their youth team) and I think it will take them time to integrate some of their attacking signings. They will improve, definitely. But they are not going to be challenging the top 10.
-
Linked with us and Nottingham Forest? Hardly matches profile of recent signings, can't see this one happening.
-
It was also widely reported that Wanyama wasn't interested in coming to us. I think this one has a bit longer to run...the player's position may well change when he realizes options available to him, and as Giordano says (great updates by the way) his position at Roma seems untenable. Doubt we could match the £80k a week salary offered by Zenit, but expect the signing-on fee would be significant.
-
Costly mistake but better to take a loss on transfer-fee and get him off the wage-bill. Leaving him on the fringes for another season would have probably cost us a similar amount in wages anyway, and it's hardly like we did the best job of putting him in the shop window for other clubs to bid on.

Cheers VMAN. Italian striker or Italian-based striker?
-
Must be part of the drum roll for the Shaw announcement... Never seen Isgrove play, but heard good things. His other half is certainly an exciting prospect.
-
Perhaps, and he also seems quite a combustible fellow. But I guess if anyone knows how to manage him and get the best out of him it will be Poch. I actually think we have a strong likelihood of signing him. Now the Wanyama saga is over I can see Cortese's putting all his efforts into getting this deal completed, especially with the Roma board so keen to offload. One quite big reservation is how well he would be able to play with Lambert as both are natural lone frontmen. Maybe shift Lambert back into a deeper role, but this would have implications for Ramirez/Lallana etc., so hardly ideal. Call me sentimental but would hate to see Lambert's game time severely restricted next season. Understand the issues with his mobility but he really is such a talismanic figure for us. From what I gather, Osvaldo is not the sort to accept 'rotation' easily (berating management at Roma for not starting him, etc) which would make Lambert's position even more precarious. 20million euros is probably market-value for his level of ability, but still, taking into account his age I can't see us recouping a lot of that back. Probably worth the hit ability-wise, just worried that with the playboy attitude he'd majorly disrupt the dressing-room. As said before though, Poch will know him better than most so hoping those worries prove unfounded.
-
Completely agree. Hull, Palace, and Sunderland are the three most likely for me to go down. I am envisioning some sort of mid-season meltdown from Di Canio and just can't see their rag bag collection of signings gelling in time. He is so unpredictable though, that he might just pull it off. Also tipping Newcastle to struggle with on-going battle between Pardew and Kinnear. No European football to distract them, but I think board-room politics might prove their undoing.
-
Good day to bury bad news ay? The fella always looked so bleeding miserable in any 'behind the scenes' footage, so can't say I'm too surprised. Would have liked to have seen him given a game or two but Poch clearly didn't rate him. I wonder whether this was based on fitness issues rather than technical abilities as he is clearly rated by some in the game. Nevertheless, a bit of an embarrassment for our scouting department and 'transfer committee' whose remit was surely to secure a CB who would immediately steady our leaky defense. Strange that if Poch's appointment had been lined up for a while that he clearly wasn't consulted about Forren coming in. Not too sure whether we will bring another CB as it will halt progress of Stephens/Turnbull. If we do then I see Jos or Jose being shipped out...

Getting increasingly fed up with the Saints fans on twitter who jump the gun and directly tweet fringe players wishing them well for future, thanks for your help in L1/the Championship, unfortunately couldn't make the 'step up' etc, etc. Seen it with Hammond, Sharp, and now with Chaplow. It might come from a good place but comes across as incredibly patronizing to do so before anything is officially announced, especially when fans are responding to mostly Twitter rumours. By all means wish them well when they are gone, but no sooner. Good luck Chaplow!

Aye, just realised this. Do ignore me.

https://twitter.com/SaintsFC_Chat/status/354936215650312192/photo/1 Apparently Wanyama just deleted this tweet: To all the Celtic fans thank you for making me feel welcome! I cannot make any further comments till after my official press conference. EDIT: Idiot alert. Ignore this, suckered in by a RT on the #saintsfc tag.

Matt Collins@SkySportsMatt 8m Southampton have enquired about Olympiakos midfielder David Fuster. #SaintsFC 31 year old Spanish attack midfielder. Not a bad pedigree with Champions League experience. But really at that age it doesn't fit our profile of signings.
-
You've said this your entire life haven't you?
-
I don't think he was asking what the face palm means, merely pointing out that you use it quite a lot.
-
England U19's, but yeah, think you are right here. As has been said on here before, no point signing two experienced players to come in and play second-fiddle to an 18 and a 22 year old. Poch has got a great record at Espanyol of bringing the young'uns through so fully expect us to utilise Targett and Chambers as back-up full backs next season (Targett's game time might be impacted by whether we sell Fox or not, of course). If Cortese want's to achieve his target of 50% of the first team coming through the academy then there would be no point in shelling out millions on back-up players, and halting the progress of youth team players. In addition to Lovren and Wanyama, I think it will be a case of one winger and one striker and then business done.
