  1. He called Ings right last summer. Pretty sure the Echo dismissed the link until deadline day as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Watching him spluttering around a football pitch, blowing out of his arse after 10 mins, has become a pathetic sight. Get rid of the fat boy ASAP. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. We haven’t sold high in the winter though have we? It’s a loan with an option to make permanent for €11m, which no doubt Inter will look to negotiate down in the summer as he’ll only have 12 months on his contract. Pretty pathetic business IMO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. The board seem to now be giving the signs that there will be some sort of massive overhaul in the summer as a justification for lack of activity this window. It’s not that easy. We weren’t able to (permanently) shift Clasie, Boufal or Carrillo in the summer, so what makes them think we’ll be able to get rid of them, plus the utter dross of Hoedt and Elyounoussi, this coming summer?
  5. Loan fee is supposedly €500k with only an ‘option’ to buy set at €11m. Presumably Inter will look to get that figure down too, particularly with Wee Ross in charge of the negotiations. If we aren’t going to replace it seems a pretty pointless deal. I’m not Cedric’s biggest fan but would rather have him around as cover for that sort of shrapnel. Another self-harming decision in the vein of Fonte and VvD? Let’s hope we don’t live to regret it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. His moustache looked fantastic last night. What a way to bow out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Unfortunately Moi is too slow in speed and thought to ever cut in in the PL. He also looks very low on confidence and hides from the ball, making runs to parts of the pitch where he’s not going to be played in. To think we spent six years scouting this guy...what did we see? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Surely the TV money next summer would account for the Ings transfer fee, without worrying about sales covering it? That’s assuming we stay up of course. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I think that’s a reference to Steven Caulker. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Wtf was that bag policy about last night? Missed around 30 mins of the game due to the bag drop place being about a mile from the stadium, and had to pay £10 for the ordeal. Zero communication from the club about it, and ridiculous for anyone who might just have a small thing like work mid-week and therefore have stuff on them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. A very dozy player who needs a leader alongside him to keep him on his toes. Sadly we don’t have that. Can’t believe that 2 years on from our cup final when we were supposedly in a defensive crisis mode (with Fonte having left and VvD injured) that we still have the exact same CB pairing. Pretty damning indictment of our recruitment since then. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Great appointment if we get it over the line. Still a lot of work to be done but having a united fanbase will help massively. Nice also to feel there is still a semblance of ambition and strategy left at the club. Penny for Austin’s thoughts on the gegenpress.
  13. It’s a bit of myth that the fans got Puel sacked. I can recall a few boos and jeers in the Northam on the last day of the season but nothing sustained. The board spent enough time deliberating over it at the end of the season and letting every newspaper know they were deliberating over his position too, to indicate they weighed up the pros and cons. I think most fans just wanted a decision either way and personally I would have accepted the decision to back him at the time, despite being a little underwhelmed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. That reads like we are willing to toss away Utd and Spurs games before making an actual decision on Hughes. Levels of ambition at the club are genuinely pathetic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. He’s won tons of games in the Chinese Super League, so I hear. Will have team performances peking in no time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. It will be a while longer before Hughes is sacked IMO. Les was the sacrificial lamb - a decision that should’ve been made last summer delayed to this season just so the board could be seen to be actually doing something. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Wilson has held that job title for a while now - since Gareth Rogers left amid the last board restructure, I believe. Les Reed was vice chairman. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. The state of this thread. Eni Aluko is a great pundit and put the likes of Patrice Evra/Henrik Larsson to shame during the World Cup coverage, if just by the virtue of bothering to do some research. There are a ridiculous number of men in the industry that get a gig in punditry off the back of a having had a decent playing career. How much was Thierry Henry paid when at Sky Sports? Added nothing insightful. Why don’t we complain about that instead. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Leandre Griffit reckons Jardim to Saints is all over the European rags. He’s probably wrong, again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. What’s red and white and turns up once a year? A Southampton victory. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. We have a lot of players hiding behind the image of him as some sort of ogre...Lemina in particular. Time will tell if that’s true or not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. By ‘perceived’ mistakes they mean actual mistakes? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Good post. The Gunn transfer is looking more and more pointless given our deficiencies in other outfield areas that haven’t been addressed, and especially when we couldn’t move Forster and his ridiculous wages on. It also shows how our board has become totally absorbed by generating profit on players with potential as opposed to buying proven quality to improve the first team - you only have to look at our readiness to flog Lambert, Pelle and Fonte to see that the boards obsession with resale value is being prioritised over experience, leadership and the affection of fans. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. ‘So you wrote a coaching manual Les? I AM the f^cking football manual.’ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Is Sam still injured? Find it strange he hasn’t been given a chance alongside Ings yet, considering the woes of our other forwards. He has the physical profile that would suit the current formation the most out of the other three options, but no sign he’s anywhere near the first team. Would happily get rid of Long and Austin in Jan (as we should’ve done in the summer) but expect Gallagher will be the most likely to go. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
