  1. Is this a Leicester City fan's forum? Are they discussing JP on the Foxes board?
  2. Why does Alpine hate SFC so much??
  3. Monkey chickens rule FFS.
  4. Was McG playing on the right? The OS says we were playing a good old 442 with John and McG starting up front, Surman on the left of midfield and Lalanna on the right but people on here are saying McG was playing wide right.
  5. Hmmm, so Godwin could well be part of the Walter Mitty takeover team? Makes perfect sense. Him and LLS could have been seperated at birth.
  6. "could happen this week"? I assume he meant in the sense of if his lottery numbers had come up on Saturday evening...... The fact that the football face of this Walty Mitty consortium is Dave Merrington speaks volumes.
  7. On the surface this appears madness but I fear this is what happens when finances totally dictate things. It was plain to see that at the end of last season that Dyer's time here was at an end , he hasn't progressed in a couple of seasons and obviosuly fancied a move and with this and the court case stuff it was obvious the club wanted rid of him. He was out of contract in the Summer and all that needed to happen was a mug team like PFC come along and take him and pay us some much needed cash in compensation. Only it didn't happen and no one came in for him. So we could either let his contract lapse and then when he did find a new club we would get f'k all or.... we could offer him a new contract because we knew we would probably accept as there was nothing else on the table and we knew that by offering him a new deal we would flog him later for the much needed cash. I've no doubt that Lowe and Jan were thinking it's a no lose deal. If he does well then we get a good player and if not we should be able to get more in a transfer fee for him than we had paid out to the lad in wages. It's obvious that so far this season Dyer has done nothing to show he has any interest of playing for us so he has been shipped out on loan. Sheff Utd will pick up his wages and there's no doubt at all that if he does well there then the deal will be made permanent in January. Sadly for us it's all about the bottom line at the minute and the bottom line with Dyer is that we will make more money from him by offering him the new deal paying a month's wages to him, sending him out on loan and then selling him in the window than if we just let him walk away for nowt in the Summer...
  8. So far this season, Perry, Cork and Wotton have played far better than Svennson so I don't see this as any big deal. As fourth choice CB he should be playing the mid-week League Cup game.
  9. I thought it had been pretty much agreed that Scooby is a fervant anti-Loweite who just posts absurd pro-Lowe rantings in order to provoke anti-Lowe replies and reaction.
  10. None other than Mental Matty Paul, banned from TSF more times than anyone cares to remember and the most fervant Lowe obsessionalist...
  11. Wasn't McG rumoured to be bullying a few of his youth team team mates a few years back? I think it's safe to assume the bloke has a bit of an attitude problem.....
  12. What you have posted above is completely and utterly incorrect. What we in the UK have done with regard to paying for sports on tv is far far far above and beyond what has happened in the US. The major sports in the US - MLB, NFL and the NBA, ALL have almost all of their televised games show on the four main terrestial stations (NBC, CBS, ABC and Fox) and these can all still be received by anyone in the US who can stick a coat hanger in the back of their TVs... The small amount of games that aren't on terrestial tv are on cable channels such as ESPN which are part of the 'basic cable' package of channels that anyone getting cable tv will be provided with. There are no NFL, NBA, or MLB games on any of their 'premium' cable channels like HBO (which are the equivilant of Sky Sports) As for everything being on ppv, well apart from boxing, WWE and UFC there is very little sport on ppv and certainly none of their big 3 sports. I would like to see the reaction from the American population if the NFL did try and sign a deal to only show the NFL on a premium cable channel. I really can't see it happening.... ever. The amount paid for the tv rights for the NFL is comparable with what the FA get for the Prem League but there is a difference in where this money comes from. In the US it is from the tv companies who get their revenue from tv advertising (think how much a Super Bowl commerical costs) opposed to Sky who get their money from all of us paying £50+ a month for their service. "Its frightening to what lengths Americans are willing to pay for sports events" is it? Well all they actually have to pay is the cost of a tv (and not even a license to go with it!) Also, Sky did not 'ditch' Prem Plus they were forced to give up that portion of the tv deal by the EU. The replacement is what is shown on Setanta.... Other that that, your post was bang on............
  13. Do you have an little detector in your house that alerts you when someone posts something anti-American on here? :smt040 I know it's cruel but I love posting stuff that I just know you will have to defend! You really do personify the zeal of a convert. You are just like those ultra-radical members of the Muslim faith who were born into Catholic household in Rochdale and were christened Kevin! The sad thing is Timmy that no matter how many times you call you Mother 'Mom' you will always be English and not a Yank.... As for you point on English dentistry I fear you have got things totally the wrong way around. Being American it is very unlikely indeed that Kyle has has own teeth. I would venture that, like most who live on the more backward side of the pond, that he has long since had his own teeth removed and replaced by shiny and unnaturally bright artificial ones. Also about your insinuation that Americans are great team players, tell that to Terrell Owens, Allen Iverson, etc...... Still, it must have been a great weekend for you Tiggy. Yes, the Saints only drew but far more importantly for you, your boys won back the Ryder Cup. I would imagine you are still celebrating in your Stars and Stripes underwear...... :partyman:
  14. Indeed. From the start of pre-season it was obvious that there were only two targets this season and both were surivial, survial in this league and financial survival. However, after a good pre-season game against the Hammers and beating the woeful Derby at Pride Park, some fans reverted to 'we'll walk this league' type and now we have few bad results some have swung just as far the other way.... The situation is the same as it was. We have a chance of staying up this year and if we do and if we can avoid administration we will have a much better chance of improving on things next season.
  15. Yep, he's a Yank. He warms up in a helmet and shoulder pads, has no appreciation of irony and stops playing every 90 seconds as he is expecting a break for ads.......
  16. It may well turn out the case that it, given our financial predicament, it would have been better for our Dutch management/youth team last roll of the dice if we HAD of got relegated last season and the re-building had taken place in L1.
  17. Contrary to what the Lowe haters would have us believe, it does look like player morale is actually pretty good at the club even tho we aren't winning... Still, I think that after this news has just been announced it looks like we will be playing Perkhart and John up fron tonight which might make McG wish he hadn't signed!
  18. I think the piece from Jan on the O/S is pretty much stating that it will be Stern John and Perkart up front tonight.

Alan Brazil couldn't have put it any better. I'm assuming you have been hearing 'two differnet stories' about Bobby's death?
  22. You should go try again, it's a lot better now that it has moved from rivals.net to club fanzine.... (oh yeah, and it's free!) http://www.clubfanzine.com/southampton/forum.categ.php
  23. The £5 fee has rendered this board dead as a dodo! Ironically with the current level of traffic on here the old server could have coped without problem. (as would have a VIC 20!)
  24. Professional footballers of today really are utter tools.... Given that he had just been 'done' for theft, being pictured grinning like an imbecile by his shiny new car by the the local rag after being the proud recipient of free petrol would seem to anyone with a modicum of of intelligence not to be the smartest thing to do. If he had a single brain cell in the peanut sized head of his he would have declined the photo opportunity and given the cost of the fuel he had got for gratis to the journo and told him to give a local charity. Then he might just have not looked like a total c ock. Again.
  25. Has Gormless George Barley moaned to the media that the result was down to Scotland being forced to sell their 3 best players since last season?
