  1. One of the worst footballers I've ever seen. (and I remember Alan 'Gordon' Bennett and Pedro 'Pele - lol' Montiero.
  2. How on earth do you know that we are 'financially stable'? We were running at a multi-million pound loss under Gao with small net spend but last season spent over £160m on transfer fees alone to get relegated and are now in a league with massively less revenue (even with parachute payments). Our owner really isn't rich or stupid enough to fund this so we have to sell a lot of players to survive.
  3. Well he's certainly not going to lose his pace I guess...
  4. I always think setpiece is over egging it a bit. He's one of the best free kick takers but his corners never amount to much and he was just about the worst regular penalty taker in the PL.
  5. No. Not going to feature in our squad so no point in playing as he will be sold.
  6. No. He's hardly featured in pre-season has he? Which is a good indication.
  7. I think they should play with a smaller ball which is logical as they don't have the same leg strength as men players. Women's football always makes me think it's what the PL would look like if they used a basketball.
  8. An entire team to leave in the next 4 weeks? Shite Paul (good reach and can't be worse than McC) KWP ABK Salisu Tino Sulemana JWP Lavia Alcaraz Tella Adams Potentially 2 or 3 may stay.
  9. What % will City get of the Lavia money?
  10. Where did I mention Salisbury? My point was that anyone from the outlying Hampshire towns/villages mentioned in this thread can surely call Saints their 'local' team...
  11. Why do you think it's codswallop? It's very likely he will got to West Ham this Summer.
  12. We don't need to sell for monetary reasons? Really? We were running at a multi-million pound loss under Gao when our net spend was negligible. Last season we spent £160m on fees alone to get relegated. We are now in a league where the ANNUAL revenue for most clubs is no more than 20-30m. And we are still paying City £10-15m a pop for their kids. Of course we need to sell. Unless we are just doing a Saints Go Wilde v2 and gambling on promotion this season? And if this fails we could be in the same sort of situation as Blackburn in asking their players to pay for flights back from pre-season games or, worse still, back to the days of fans holding out buckets for loose change. Without selling a lot of players this season we are f'ked. The club is being run in a totally unsustainable way and any fan who thinks our current owner will foot the bill is utterly deluded.
  13. Just watch it on the TV. It's a long journey and we'll probably lose.
  14. Because they are always cast-iron in football aren't they.
  15. He was Jones' bestie. I guess they bonded over their religion. When we scored the 2nd in the LC game against City all of the players were celebrating together on the pitch apart from the Brazilian Alan Bennett who had sprinted to the touchline and was jumping up and down hugging Jones.
  16. Chances of a Turkish club following through with an obligation to buy after seeing him play for a year. Almost zero I would say. If they wanted to buy him now we could just transfer him and make the payment terms a small amount now and the remainder in 12 months. There are always some contractual outs with obligations to buy.
  17. Are you sitting comfortably? Of course we f'kin know that Lavia/JWP/KWP/Salisu are leaving. They aint going to be playing in the 2nd tier are they... So just sell them for a reasonable price now and re-invest some of the cash on players that will improve us on the pitch this season (as Leicester have done with selling Maddison) - not trying to hold out for ridiculous amounts as we are doing. We NEED to sell otherwise we will be in serious financial trouble given the £160m on transfer fees alone we spent on transfer fees alone last season to get relegated. And to use some of the funds to buy Championship ready players.
  18. Or we should move earlier. Leicester have already sold the player they can get the most revenue from and signed two players from PL teams who will be ready to improve their team on the pitch THIS season, not (yet more) youth team players who we might be able to flog for a profit in a couple of years. If we haven't gone into admin by then.
  19. Think a link must be screwed up somewhere. I clicked on the Southampton Summer transfer window thread but ended up on one about Forest Green new manager discussion!
  20. Seem ok. Not much of an U18 discount though. Was that always the case? Thought they were a fiver last year or was that just for cup games? https://www.southamptonfc.com/en/southampton-vs-norwich-city-ticket-information https://res.cloudinary.com/southampton//image/upload/f_auto,c_fill,w_1000,q_90/SFC_2023_24_MBMPricingTablesCATB_hpwa4r.jpg
  21. Surely anyone living in Hampshire has the 'right' to support Saints as their 'local' club?
  22. You should have called yourself Winnershsaint.
  23. Debt free after spending £160m to get relegated! 🤪
  24. No. His net worth is said to be around £1bn so certainly not a multi-billionaire and remember net worth is the value of all he owns not the cash he has to hand. So... Companies house records show we were running at a multi-million £ loss under Gao where net transfer spend was negligible. Dragan bought 80% of the club for around 1/4 of his net worth and then the club spent £160m on fees alone to get relegated. Even with parachute payments our yearly revenue has taken a big hit with relegation. So where is the money coming from to pay for all of this if not transfer sales? Dragan aint rich enough to fund it. I think you're in for some disappointment if you really don't think we need to bringing in at least £100m from sales this Summer. (which we will do).
  25. How can our debts be cleared? We stayed up when owned by Gao for 3 seasons with pretty much zero net spend. Last season we spent £160m on transfer fees alone to get relegated. Where is the money coming from to fund this? Our owner is not rich enough to cover that sort of debt. It's very likely we will be need to sell at least £100m to keep the club afloat.
