  1. And silver paper? (hats, for the making of).
  2. Is he flogging his ganja gummies?
  3. Why do people keep saying it's one game? It isn't, it's 5. We've conceding 4 goals in one game and 5 in another. Overall we have conceded more goals in these 5 games than any of the other 23 teams in the league. And it's no surprise is it. Everyone knew this about Martinball. Just look at MK Dons or Swansea last season. Everyone knew this was going to happen. Playing the way we do, and with a very poor keeper, it has little hope of changing. There is no hope of getting promoted conceding the amount of goals we are. Our squad is good, but as pretty as Martinball looks, let's be honest - with our players, if you had let any other manager in the league manage us on Saturday no other would have lost 5-0. Some may have lost, but not been humiliated as we were. Are Sport Republic STILL over complicating things? It's just not getting promoted is it? It's getting promoted playing 75% 500+ completion pass possession ball.
  4. I was going to say the same about you Manji. You always seemed quite sensible, even in the Lowe era, and realised the financial realities of being a plc that had to break even when the more moronic fans were talking about 'investment' - i.e. spending money we didn't have. Given the mad spending of £160m to get relegated last season, coupled with being in a league with around £100m per season less revenues than the PL for a club of our size, we were always going to have to sell between £150m-£200m of players just to avoid the administration route we went down last time. Anyone denying this would clearly have no idea how a business works.
  5. Calm down Dickie!
  6. To @manji and all of 'cash sloshing about' mob who were saying the club was in great financial shape, even with relegation and didn't really need to sell that many players. To date we have sold around £160m worth of players (with more to go today!) and spent around £10m on new ones (4 loans, 2 free transfers and 1 player signing).
  7. Regardless of any accountant speak, we spent around £160m more last season than we usually do and ended up being relegated to a league where the revenues are around £100m per year less so that money has to be made up from somewhere which is why us selling £170m+ of players and only buying £10-20m is not at all surprising really.
  8. No way that includes last year's £160m net spend.
  9. Why are some fans acting as though we are in a great financial position. We were relegated last season so are in a league with revenues massively smaller than the PL and the transfers this Summer are to pay for last seasons £160m net spend. There is certainly no cash 'swilling' around.
  10. Surely it would be better for us if it did close on Tues as we are sellers and not buyers?
  11. Yes. Either that or a binman.
  12. He's not a presenter. They do a paper review thing where they bring in 2 people to comment on stories, usually former politicians, journos, tv presenters, etc.
  13. If we sell him then it will be for financial reasons and it's unlikely to think more than small % of this will be used to buy a new striker. I don't think we can replace a proven scorer in this league (with 3 goals already this season) for the £4-6m price range.
  14. Some talk that Luton are now in for him.
  15. Shite Paul will go out on loan and we'll sell ABK. Of Sulemana, Alcaraz, KWP, Adams and Tella I think we could possibly keep two or maybe 3. (KWP, Tella and Alcaraz)
  16. 4 Down so far.
  17. What's he done that is genius this window? We've signed the 10th most expensive player ever signed in this league (who has on the bench last week) and an out of contract player from our managers previous club. As expected we've sold JWP, Tino and soon to be Lavia for around what was mooted, a bit more for Lavia due to a bidding war breaking out between Liverpool and Chelsea. Not sure he has reached genius level quite yet lol.
  18. Did you miss the fact we are no longer in the PL?
  19. A massive gamble when in a league where total revenue for clubs per year is 20-30m? Would be like us spending £120m on a player when in the PL. For every Lavia there are many more like Simeua, Small, Larios, etc.
  20. That money is going to pay for last season's £160m transfer net spend, far more than in any other season in the club's history (probably more than them all combined to be fair). It has to come from somewhere given we've lost the PL TV money.
  21. The Shea Charles transfer shows that SR haven't learnt much from last year. Then, as now, we needed players who could make an immediate impact but apart from Lavia we signed ones who could possibly be good in two of three years time. Does anyone actually appreciated the amount we have spent on Charles? A lot of Championship clubs only have yearly income of around £20m per YEAR but we've spent £10m on one player. It would be like us spending £75m on a player for the future if we were still in the PL. Have a look at the transfer spends of Stoke, Millwall, Blackburn, etc it's incredible how little money is spent. Most get by on a couple of million spent on transfers and a host of loans.
  22. Going as in leaving?
  23. This is like buying a car, finding out it won't start but trying to console yourself by thinking if you wedge a bottle of beer under the wheel arch it works like a very poor bottle opener.
