  1. Who was still on the bench yesterday. No issue with the Livermento buy, it was for not a huge sum but I wouldn't be starting him in front of KWP. The other Summer transfers all seem to be doing nothing to contribute to us staying up this season.
  2. Of course. What sane fan wouldn't? For Ings alone. Yesterday showed that a match between two poor teams can always be won by a quality striker. We're weaker at CB, LB and striker than last year and still have no CM cover. Livermento has done well at RB but that was just about the only position we didn't need to worry about!
  3. This amazing transfer window the half-fullists were raving about seems to have been the loss of one of the top 5 strikers in the country, our startng LB and our best CB and replacing with... A LB we blew most of our budget on but now aren't playing A young RB when we already had a VERY good RB Another Championship level striker A CB nowhere near playing at PL level and some kids from the Academies of Chelsea and Everton
  4. He seems an absolute nutter more concerned about becoming a cult hero. What's the spreadbet on how long before he headbutts JWP in training and has to go away somewhere.....
  5. We sold our first choice CB to a club chasing the CL. We replaced with a 4th choice 'project' and gambled we could bank the difference in transfer fees. It's a very dangerous strategy when this season is all about staying up.
  6. 3 GREAT reasons why, if you have £7m to spend on a player needed to keep us up this season, you don't sign him....
  7. Matt Paterson v.2021
  8. The club don't seem to be releasing this anymore. There appeared to be thousands of empty seats.
  9. For the owners yes. For the fans finishing 17th is not really a season which will last long in the memory and fewer and fewer fans will renew their s/t based on what they are getting back in return.
  10. Why not? If that is what we were paying him when on loan it's sensible to think he'd be on the same this year now he's under contract. It's still a 50% reduction on what he was getting at Everton lol.
  11. Could you supply the WLD record of games he has started as a number 6? I'm sure it must be 'good'.
  12. But Armstrong is not a CM player and is not very good there. That's why we don't tend to win games when he plays there. Likewise not sure that CM is Smallbone's best position, his best game for us was the one he was injured in where he was playing in a more advanced role. So, as I said, going into a season with only 3 CM players is a bit of a gamble and it means that JWP ends up playing against the likes of Newport which is fine until he picks up a 10 game injury doing this. Thanks for your through explanation of the PL loan rule. My bit about signing an embryo from Chelsea was actually a joke (strictly speaking embryos aren't able to play football so it would not have been a viable option). You seem to struggle with humour a bit.
  13. We have no money for transfers and currently have only 3 CM players which is less than teams have for a 3 week Summer tournament much less an entire PL season so we need one more CM player in the squad. If wages could be agreed then I wouldn't have an issue if JW was signed. We won't get much better in the bargain bins we are looking at unless Chelsea have an embryo they might loan us?
  14. https://twitter.com/David_Ornstein/status/1430422666041774080
  15. Nope, me neither.
  16. Has he not signed yet? 🤞
  17. For our promotion push?
  18. From the Chelsea Academy with a £10m buy back clause, yes?
  19. Isn't that a stationery company?
  20. Oh yes, you're quite correct we are financially f'ked. But we'll be a whole lot more f'ked if we get relegated so it's a delicate balancing act just how far the club can weaken the squad to improve the short-term financial situation without being cast-iron certs for relegation. Sadly for fans, when Semmens and co. are doing no more than trying to finish 17th there is very little incentive for fans to pay money to attend games, etc.
  21. So if JWP goes we would have lost our best CB, best midfielder and best striker. You'd be upgrading your rating to a 9.5/10 window then I assume?
  22. Or do what most cabbies seem to do now and just use a sat nav?
  23. I think she's always been unfairly held back by her hairy arms.
  24. First impressions say that it will take a while for Perraud to reach even the levels of Bertrand v.2020.
  25. We'll see. FB is one of the most important positions on the pitch in modern football, it's no longer the place you can hide a Dodds or Benali. The French lad will do well to reach the level of Bertrand even in the past couple of seasons.
