    Our Support

When did they start? I've used them a couple of times as far back as the Pochettino season, when our support was good because the team was good. To be honest I think it's a vicious circle based on team performance. Poor/mediocre teams only get support from really good fans (which we never have been in my time) or when they've just been promoted. As for everyone mocking the Americans - the organisation and tone may be bizarre to our ears but we wouldn't compete with that if they came to St Mary's.
  2. Was the atmosphere any better/worse than other big teams who aren't excited about playing Southampton? Particularly when they're out of form.
  3. If everyone's at their peak.... Forster Clyne Alderweireld van Dijk Bertrand Wanyama Schneiderlin Mane Davis Tadic Pelle If we're looking at consistency over a season I'd probably have Lallana for Tadic.
  4. At least Ward-Prowse ran back. I'm not sure where Hojbjerg was starting from, but he was walking.
  5. Thought he did alright today.
  6. Cedric injured in the warmup, Vestergaard replacing him apparently. Why not Valery?!
  7. Echo's Dan Sheldon saying Adams has been rested.
  8. All the more reason to give him a chance from the bench you'd think. Unless it's got him so down that he's not right mentally, which would be a worry.
  9. Right lineup, but why's Che not even in the squad?
  10. Have PM'd
  11. And he was miles out of position in the first place.
  12. Also worth saying that you can see him celebrating the first goal normally.
  13. Absolutely. Dibs for those who went to Fulham, perhaps.
  14. You're right, and it's worrying.
  15. He's spoken before about trying to play forward as quickly as possible, taking risks to pass between the lines. I don't think he's taking more risks, or silly ones, but they've not come off this season. He's definitely been caught a step behind off the ball at times though, being late to second balls. He's obviously not of City's quality but he's played a lot better than this for most of his time with us.
  16. He grew into it but looked shakier than most in that early period. Caught in no man's land for Marquis's long-range shot and napping at that corner when they almost bundled it in. Another day and we could have been 2-0 down.
  17. Am I making this up or do Spurs have quite a good record of bouncing back from cup exits by spanking weaker opposition? On the lineup - I'm not sure Yoshida's performance last night did him any favours. Danso and Bednarek? Who knows.
  18. What's going on with him? He's been poor all season with only a couple of decent spells in games. The effort's still there but I can't remember the last time he ran a game.
  19. Agree with all of this. Feel for Adams but Ings has to go into the team now.
  20. Big fan of the Kenny Jackett masterplan: run your legs off for 20 minutes then puff out your arse for the other 70.
  21. Everyone going, please sing extra loud to make up for my dad, who goes every game but hasn't sung since about 1983.
  22. Thought he was pretty good myself. Held up the ball well and found space in his usual way. He and Romeu were the only two to come out with much credit.
  23. Is Djenepo definitely out? Adams has by far the most experience of the lower leagues.
  24. No reason we can't get a win or three but it won't be easy. City's the only write-off.
  25. Alrighty!
