  1. When they're away from home we'd rather have them desperate for 3 points, they'll happily sit and defend all day otherwise! Though I still fancy us to get past 'em
  2. Steady on! We had three huge chances - that free kick/resulting rebound, Clyne's sitter and when Guly came down the wing in the clear but couldn't pick out Rodriguez. A better ball then and it's a tap-in
  3. Good grief
  4. 3 - which is significantly better than Shaw's 0! Lambert 8 Rodriguez 8 Puncheon 6 Lallana 5 Ramirez 4 Clyne 3 Fonte, Guly 2 Fox, Cork, Schneiderlin, Davis, Mayuka 1

    Guly

He's performed well all season. Very useful player and I'd be sad to see him go. Doesn't have any attacking spark anymore but he defends far better than any of our other wide players and is sound in possession - exactly what you need away at places like Tottenham. You could tell we lost a handle on the midfield a little bit when he went off.
  6. Sunderland's home form: W Everton 1-0 L Man Utd 0-1 D Norwich 1-1 D Fulham 2-2 L Arsenal 0-1 D Swansea 0-0 With the exception of that Fulham game there's not many goals going either way - same as us at the moment. They're missing their crucial attacking players and we're struggling to get the best out of ours. Could be one mistake or one goal out of nowhere that decides this one!
  7. We're 10th in the form table - and above both the teams we've got left to play! I'm not worried about our form, it's just about getting the right reaction again. We reacted perfectly to WBA yesterday, playing well and dominating them. On another day we could have been 2 or 3-nil up by half time. Take on this game the same way we did Spurs and we should be fine.
  8. I dunno, I'm glad that we weren't the next fixture after Villa. I expect there's gonna be a big reaction from their players, though I expected that from Newcastle yesterday as well...
  9. Pretty much this.
  10. Or wander up to the halfway line and forget to come back ala Fox! Clyne's been one of our most consistent performers this season. He's still got a mistake in him but he's secure on the ball, good at timing his passes and defends very well.
  11. This is it really. Media coverage and club history creates a hierarchy in the PL where every week, people expect the 'big teams' to win and the 'small teams' to lose - that expectation isn't really there in the lower leagues, people are forced to think about form and the way the teams might match up. As we're a promoted club we're expected to lose every game, and the fans buy into that by patiently waiting for a 5-0 drubbing. Even established (but unfashionable) clubs are generally seen as lambs waiting for the slaughter - see Sunderland and Stoke in the next two games. If you're not declaring doomsday you probably see these teams - and any teams outside of the top 7 - as very beatable.
  12. Bang on. End of thread.
  13. I reckon 43.
  14. Fonte against Fulham I believe.
  15. Yeah I think so. They've been picked up by Mumford & Sons and toured with them a lot and they're getting radio play now. If they're any good live (I'll see at Glastonbury, and in London a few days before) then they'll be right up the lineup next year. I've been listening to this on repeat all day:
  16. We really should have scored one of those chances. A shame we couldn't as Spurs will come out much stronger second half but this has been much more like it. Clyne the outstanding performer so far but everybody's playing well. Lallana's been a bit quiet but I'm not sure I'd prefer Puncheon or SDR particularly
  17. Guly's always performed when he's been called upon this season and is very useful away from home when we face tough pressure...but that was a big big chance and he should have put a better ball in.
  18. Morgan's out with a dead leg. It's a curse!
  19. A lot feel they are - the Commons debate made that clear - but nobody could particularly explain why. Many (including divorcees!) pretended that the sanctity of their straight marriage would be compromised.
  20. "homophobia noun an extreme and irrational aversion to homosexuality and homosexual people. " My emphasis. Homophobia is against the sexuality, which includes the 'lifestyle' (whatever that means...) as well as any person or group of persons who hold it. Homophobia can be a slur yelled to someone on the street, choosing not to hire someone because of their sexuality or choosing to deny them a right in law because of their sexuality.
  21. Leicester for easy access to an away game but if that's not a factor then they'd be last on my list. Don't like them at all. To be honest I'm not that fussed but having another south coast team in the league would be nice.
  22. Guly to shine today, as he did at the Britannia. Not that I expect the result to be similar...
