Of course that is true, despite Gavyn's protestations.

You're no better at the amateur psychiatry than Gavyn. The 60's was great for pop music and fashion, but completely a crap decade for politics. So Boris is a pinko? You remoaners have changed your tune. I thought you had him as far right. Make up your minds.

https://www.spiked-online.com/2020/01/31/the-10-maddest-remainer-moments/ Now that Brexit is done, here are the nominations for the top ten Remoaner sufferers of Brexit Derangement Syndrome. At least one of them is good mates with Gavyn.

Breath? Surely you mean breathe.

He should stick to writing books, instead of indulging himself in his little moaning tirade about how unfair the referendum was and how a majority of voters voted for parties calling for another referendum in the last election. If he had any real grasp of how politics worked, then he would have recognised that just because a party had a policy of holding another referendum, it does not follow that everybody voting for that party wanted one. During the election before, all of the major parties stood on manifestos that they would respect the referendum result, but I don't hear him bleating that they subsequently ratted on that promise. The referendum was the decisive binary vote and here he is three and a half years after the event still whinging about how it was only advisory, won on lies, hijacked by the Russkies, etc. What a bad loser he must be, attempting to rake over old coals when he can't change a single thing. I am sure that the Guardianistas adore him, but most other people probably just feel sorry for the poor sop, and wish that he just move on with his life.

Why would I be in any more need of a mobility scooter than you, Gavyn? After all there is only a matter of a few months between our ages. Judging by your usual petty bile, you're not taking our exit very well. Be patient, we're only a matter of hours out of the failing organisation, so perhaps a better idea would be to look back on it towards the end of the year, rather than having a premature ejaculation now.

Are you going to speak on their behalf?

Good morning all. I have a bit of a hangover from a great celebration party, and 11pm last night felt like New Year's Eve, what with all the fireworks. So I wish everybody a Happy New Era. I look forward to Gavyn's "fun and games" that will ensue during the rest of this year. A Canada style trade deal or WTO, either will be fine by me.

Fox alt right? LOL. You crack me up, Soggy. Fox was a refreshing change on QT, somebody who was prepared to argue the toss with some woke female who thought that he shouldn't be allowed to express an opinion because he was white and privileged. Watch it again and witness that most of the audience who were not snowflakes selected by the BBC to provide "balance", applauded him. He has achieved some notoriety status for daring to challenge the media woke culture, being one of the few luvvies who isn't a raging leftie. No wonder that he annoys the hell out of you.

It is you who has missed the point entirely. You seem to have missed me saying that I have waited for this day for nearly 30 years and strangely you see no reason why I should celebrate that occasion. You have missed the point that in the same way as joining the EEC was an historic event that was celebrated by those who wanted to join it on the day that it became a reality, the day of our leaving the EU is equally a reason for celebration by those who wished no longer to be a member of it. You just go and have a quiet sulk at 11pm if that is your desire, but please don't be so arrogant as to try and suggest how others should mark the occasion. Just to put you fully in the picture, I celebrated Boris' stonking great win in the GE too. Likewise, I do not have a crystal ball to tell me how the next five years or so will turn out. I expect that on New Year's Eve you don't raise a glass or two, and go to bed early as you don't know how the ensuing year is going to pan out. So far, this one is going really well.
-
If you think that the arrival of the day that I have been waiting for over a period of nearly 30 years isn't worth me celebrating, then fine. You are entitled to your opinion, and you might not see any reason to celebrate this most auspicious day in our nation's recent history yourself. But don't be a killjoy and hurl insults at those who wish to celebrate it. No, we don't know what sort of deal (or no deal) will be in place at the end of the year, but you miss the point of what today represents; we will have left the EU at 11pm. If you think that this in itself is not worthy of celebration and that those who believe that it is must be retarded, then who cares? It is arrogant and insulting attitudes like this that helped bring about the Leave vote, and indeed Boris' GE victory

https://brexitcentral.com/its-time-to-seize-the-opportunities-of-brexit-and-embrace-a-global-vision/ The image of our country as being insular and xenophobic is one that the remoaners love to perpetuate. I'm in the camp of those who look forward optimistically to the sort of opportunities and vision espoused by articles like this. Global Vision; that doesn't sound very insular or xenophobic, does it?

The bubbly is in the fridge. Only a few hours to go until party time

I've suggested before that you shouldn't dabble in amateur psychiatry, Gavyn. You're plainly not very good at it. Could it be that a time lapse between posts is indicative of a need to do other work/social related things? Now there's a novel thought, isn't it?

We owe a debt of gratitude to Nigel Farage. His unstinting campaign to get us out of the EU and UKIP's success in the 2014 European election forced Cameron into promising a referendum on our membership in the subsequent GE. Despite the best efforts of the establishment and big business vested interests, we voted to leave, Farage having played a pivotal role in the campaign. His contributions again proved decisive when his newly formed Brexit Party from nowhere a short time before, won the largest number of UK MEP seats in the 2019 European elections, bringing about May's resignation and the appointment of Boris as PM. During the GE campaign, his decision to not stand candidates against the Tories in seats that they held, was instrumental in Boris gaining his stonking majority. We would not be where we are today without his efforts over many years, so I am very happy to acknowledge his contribution on the eve of our reaching this historic moment. Interesting to contrast his farewell speech to that from Verhofstadt, who still hasn't got the faintest idea why we chose to leave, any more than Labour have no idea why they lost the election.

Is one a high score by your emoji metric, Gavyn? If I could be bothered, I could find numerous posts of yours where you have one sentence with a single emoji, or even the occasional couple of emojis for two sentences. Plainly having several sentences with an emoji each and returning the same score of one isn't what you intended with your little formula, is it? How many hours is it until we're out? I make it around 35.
-
You fail to see the fatal flaw in your reasoning. Ten sentences followed by 10 emojis, = 1. That's not exactly the outcome you would wish for your petty little formula, is it? As I say, it would have been better multiplied. But here we are just a matter of hours away now from our departure from the sclerotic EU and the handful of remaining remoaners are reduced to making stupid comments introducing little Andorra into the conversation, or attempting to police the usage of emojis. This Brexit thread is surely at an end come tomorrow at 11pm, (apart from reporting on the celebrations the day after) so as I'm sure that the forum's arch remoaners will wish to continue whining and sulking on here, there is the opportunity to continue with a new thread. Gavyn says that the fun and games will begin on 1st February, so here is his chance to start the thread then with a title along those lines.

Oh dear, Gavyn

You've just had another brain fart, Gavyn! For it to be the petty insult you intended it to be, it would have the be the other way around, (or multiplied, not divided). You obviously don't do Wednesdays, or is it that the closer we get to Friday evening, the more confused you get?
-
And as I pointed out, the absurdity of it made you look stupid. As I also pointed out, the emojis were there to assist you in assessing my mood. They are really quite a simple illustrative device. I am surprised that you are unable to interpret them accurately, so I'll describe my mood in words instead. I am really very, very happy, even ecstatic, that in just over two days we will be out of the EU. I'll think of you when I'm celebrating on Friday evening. All things come to those who wait, Gavyn.
-
Thank God for the edit button, eh, Gavyn? That way you can alter the post to read differently to the one that is being criticised. Unfortunately I don't have that facility myself, as despite paying my subscription in August, they haven't granted me full membership yet, even though I have contacted them three times to point it out.
-
The point was pointless. It was as adsurd as it could possibly be, and you looked stupid for making it. As I suggested earlier, go and lie down quietly in a dark room until some semblance of normal thought processes return. Just as a little hint, the at the end of my last sentence indicates my state of humour. Just to help you make a correct judgement in future, I'll use one of these if I'm angry.
-
And therefore by your implied barmy, skewed logic, Andorra's trade with the EU is entirely in the same bracket as ours, is it? Making that connection means that this is going to take some beating as one of your most notable brain farts, Gavyn:lol:

You're becoming more and more shrill and insulting as the days march by, Gavyn. I do worry about where your blood pressure will be at the end of the 31st. Take a rest in a quiet corner, close your eyes and relax, let it all wash over you; you'll feel much better for it. I'm deeply touched about your concern for my well-being, but don't risk your health and sanity worrying about others who are perfectly content and sanguine, indeed jubilant about how events affect their own position. As for the absurd opinion that I would only believe any old sh*t so long as it's delivered by somebody with a posh accent, how come that I didn't believe all the guff uttered by the poshos who pedalled project fear?
