Jose Fonte in new Portugal coach's thoughts - Gets first Call Up!
KingdomCome replied to stevegrant's topic in The Saints
Very pleased for him, certainly earned it. -
Good news for Clyne, well deserved. It was likely to be bad news for Saints either way so better he gets the chance. At least this way his value will hopefully increase for his liverpool transfer next summer. Odd that Chambers and Shaw are both in the u21's. I presume Saints fan Roy is making the point that you leave Saints at your peril.

Rabbits get laid...a lot... The picture is basically saying that white kids are sexier than black kids. Disgusting.
-
No racism, perhaps a poor choice in a society that is far from resolved on the matter of racism though. It does however raise the question of would it be discriminatory to forbid the black child from wearing a monkey suit. Literally, they can't do what they want due to the colour of their skin.

Koeman played for Barca 1989 to 1995 and Pochettino played for Espanyol 1994 - 2000. So they both played in la liga 1994 and 1995 so I imagine that they did play each other.

Should we have sacked Pochettino any way?
KingdomCome replied to Red And White Barmy Army's topic in The Saints
It would have taken balls of solid steel to sack pochettino after last season. I presume in the hypothetical that Cortese would still be gone. In which case, the board would be facing a bigger back lash than they did during the summer. Even if the replacement was doing as well as Koeman is, he would only just be beginning to bring the fans on side. A huge risk that would need nothing short of perfection from the replacement. Obviously there is the parallel to draw with Adkins, and similarly, if the replacement was successful, the fans would forgive. The obvious answer to OP is that hindsight is a wonderful thing, but it really is. With the benefit of it, I wouldn't hesitate in replacing pochettino with Koeman. -
Ah....confused.
-
I'm confused about your confusion. It's a simple "like for like" comparison to equivalent fixtures last year.

Good result. Too nervous to post in the match thread. Pelle's winner looks a belter.

A good read as usual, glad you liked the analogy. -
Summary: Ronald Koeman's pre-QPR press conference
KingdomCome replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Thanks for the details, couldn't listen at work. Every time he speaks I just feel more and more that we really have landed on our feet with Koeman. Fantastic to hear the team are keen to keep up the hard work. The point about pressing is very good to hear. I felt under Pochettino we would press and press until we created a brick wall to try and get through. -

From the OP's article: I would say that the tone of the original article is one of warning against internal elective decisions rather than being unable to withstand pressure to sell. He is expressing the opinion that should they choose to sell the heart again it will likely be detrimental. I agree, there's nothing wrong with the statement, I just think it's extremely condescending. I think you're right about the root cause of the reaction. -

"A bit of advice for you son, don't shoot yourself in the foot" "But, I wasn't going to" "Well just remember, son, it's a bad idea" "I wasn't go..." "Just heed this advice son, I'm only looking out for you" 2 years later "See son, aren't you glad you didn't shoot yourself in the foot?" "Whatever, dad" "No need to thank me, son" -
Tough game and it means meeting the further on in the cup. Bad news all round. Perfectly winnable, but far from ideal. Home and away to Stoke within 3 days as well...can't we just stay on the park until we're kicked off and settle both games?

Not much wrong with what he is saying to be honest. He's picked the easy comments to pick apart. Very odd for a journalist to respond to comments, must have hit a nerve I imagine. However, what he fails to address is the fact his original piece was warning about the perils of selling the heart of a team each year for a nice big profit and hoping for anything other than a quick jaunt down the tables. The fact that he decided to write this, whilst he might argue it was in support of Saints fans necessarily implies that it is the board's intention to do so. I find it difficult to understand how that can be taken as anything other than a slight on the board. -
Sweet dreams are made of cheese who am I do diss a brie? It's Camembert world and the Edam seas - Everybody's looking Stilton

The two points were unrelated. She's very involved in horse racing, as is Mick.
-
She is from Hampshire. Imagine she probably enjoys getting to chat to Mick Channon.

Crest of a wave, playing a struggling team, at home. This has got stuttering failure written all over it. The good news is I'm terrible at predictions.
-
Bad news bears. At least the squad has options.

Love it

"Now the transfer window is shut we're going to spend a year together" Staying until next summer then? Expected a January transfer, so this is a bonus.

"I'm wasn't wrong in predicting inevitable failure, I'm just not right yet" Also manages to insult Swansea I see. -
