  1. In that case he needs a quick lesson in reading what is actually written. I didn't think the sarcasm was that well hidden !
  2. pardon ?
  3. All down to KD, NOT the defenders !
  4. Imagine if our manager was an experienced international defender who had played in the world cup final.......
  5. Rupert's plan is in two parts; first to appease the bank, second to protect what is left of his 'investment'. And any of the 'kids' that have any value will be sold as the next tranche to try to keep the whole rotten edifice afloat. There is no investment plan other than this. Which of this years ressies will be promoted to replace Lallana, Surman, DMG, or any others we might get a fee for ?
  6. Basically the fans are between a rock and a hard place: Stay away to show their displeasure of Rupes and the 'total football' experiment and kill the club's finances, or attend the games and give tacit support to the Board. If 28,000 turned up for every game, solely because they were fully behind the lads on the pitch, it would not affect the performances on the pitch, but you can bet that RL would claim credit that his policies were the reason for the level of attendance.
  7. I would suggest looking back to the performances against Blackpool, Doncaster, and Barnsley. Three of the 'weaker' teams in the league against which we struggled. Yes, I know that we actually beat Donny, but they could have has 4 by half-time if it wasn't for KD. You don't need to wait until the end of the season; we ARE one of the below average teams, and we will finish well down in the lower half of this division. There has been nothing in any of the matches so far to suggest otherwise, we cannot defend, we cannot score, and the manager has only one, flawed, idea as to tactics.
  8. Saints are tactically naive all over the pitch. A combination of playing last year's reserves under a one dimensional conference league coach.
  9. Don't know why, but this result hasn't got me as down as it might have done. Maybe it was just too predictable that after two ( slightly lucky ) wins we would come down to earth with a bump. As has been said elsewhere, this was always going to be a roller-coaster ride, with the likely outcome a near thing, ( hopefully not needing a last day escape ), flirt with relegation. At least all the uber-positives are keeping their heads down; maybe scabby is starting to realise the 'golden' duo are more akin to pyrites. Still positive slant on the table, we are 4 points above 23rd, and 4 points behind 5th. Other than the top three this is a poor, and consequently highly competitive, league.
  10. "and no matter how filthy it is, it's probably already been said on one of the Southampton message-boards" I would think it's been said, many times, on ALL of them
  11. This morning, "Break the Cycle" by Staind
  12. NorthernSaint, going off topic, ( as it is a bl00dy stupid one anyhow ), did you see the pier go up ? By the time I got round there, from over Wyre, it was all over.
  13. Earlier this evening found 'Don't Fear the Reaper' on YouTube, took me back to my school years.
  14. The Russian State Symphony Orchestra playing Carmina Burana.
  15. If it has been Bart in goal instead of KD, what the scores have been ? In most of the games this season the keeper has kept us in it, even at bl00dy Doncaster ! What p1sses me off are the posters on here who have consistently bleated on about 'total football' and how well we will do this season, when the evidence on the pitch, and the considered opinions of most people coming on here after attending the games, show that no matter how much effort the team might, laudably, put in, they are many miles from being anything like the finished product; and whilst JP is getting better, I still have strong reservations about his tactical nous or willingness to change things when they patently don't work. ( There, now I've had a moan )
  16. Scabby couldn't even explain the offside rule....... oh hang on, nor can most of the refs & Linos.
  17. I think KD is the key to the season, at least until we get a settled CB partnership.
  18. Once again Lord Lowe's decision to kick out the boot boy and bring in the golden duo is justified with another example of flowing total football. There, now that's spoilt Scabby's evening
  19. Isn't 'muffin' the mule illegal ?
  20. Liar, liar, pants on fire !
  21. If somebody had come up to you at the end of the Sheff Utd game last season, and offered you the choice of Nigel Pearson or Jan Portvliet as the Saints manager for this season, which would you have taken ? ( Please no prevarication or replying 'neither'; a straight choice ).
  22. You truly are a despicable character.
  23. It might be, but the dutch duo have had a clean slate, NP inherited a team in meltdown that had just shown their collective @rses live on TV at Brizzle Rovers.
  24. Scabby doesn't bite, he's Rupert's poodle.
  25. I guess that makes you either a pot or a kettle, black in colour !
