Problem is, I don't drink,- not even to drown my sorrows.

Preston, along with Blackpool, are both only 30 minutes travel for me, but I am looking for any excuse not to go next Saturday, 'cause I don't think I want to watch any more of this slow-mo car crash. ( Also, some **** vandalised my car two nights ago and I need to spend £230 to fix it. ). Give me some positives guys.

If KD goes, we will defo go down.
-
Do I get a refund then ?
-
I think I do get it, but more importantly, my licence fee pays for it !

Am I to assume that the show is therefore, in fact, a sophisticated p1ss-take aimed at the 'target audience' ? There are some funny bits, some entertaining bits, and a whole lot of Hamster acting like a retarded twelve year-old, Clarkson gurning like a new born infant as he passes 150 mph, and the other twit looking like a slightly eccentric academic who's been sleeping under a hedge.
-
The program is too obsessed with 'how many horses under the bonnet ?", "how far under 6 seconds for 0-60 ?", "how far over 120 mph will it go ?", all of which is completely pointless and irrelevant in a country where the maximum national speed limit is 70 mph, most journeys are less than 10 miles ( and travelled at less than 20 mph ), and most people actually want to know whether they can get three kids and a week's worth of shopping into a car that costs less than £x pounds a week to run and maintain. All three presenters are parodies of themselves; JC should stick to dissing foreigners, particularly the French and the Yanks, it's far funnier.

The story of The Clash ; White Man in Hammersmith Palais has always been in my list of top ten songs.

I think we rode our luck a bit ! I wouldn't say that I was confident in the teams defensive qualities; it's a good job 'good' KD turned up tonight, not the one that played against Watford.

There is a world of difference between playing away at their city rivals and at home to our U-21s.
-
I think it's blindingly obvious not just to this forum, but to everybody who goes to SMS, everybody who watches any part of our matches on TV, in fact everybody other than Rupes, ( JP's opinion doesn't count as he has no say in signings or team selection ).

Trust me, not at this time of year

This squad could not play his brand of hoofball, there's not a brick outhouse in sight.
-
It seems he's been 'named and shamed' and gone into hiding.

Given the situation we were presented with, hanging on by the skin of our teeth was the best we could have expected for this season. But maybe there were better options available, and some part of the frustration this is generating comes out as the sentiment displayed on here. Part of the current situation is down to financial restrictions, but a significant part of it is seen simply as Rupert's overblown ego and poor appointments.

I sincerely hope you are right, but this season is sucking the confidence out of me. The next two games being away at Sheff Utd, and the away to Swansea, who are unbeaten at home and hanging onto the play-off chase, could see us with 11 points from 13 matches.
-
That about sums it up !
-
We lose because we can't score and can't defend, the bits that happen between the penalty areas, however artistically presented, are rendered irrelevant by these two failures.
-
After the next two matches it looks like it will be 11 points from 13 matches. So yes, exactly as expected, unfortunately.
-
JP has dragged us down to his level, second divsion Dutch football
-
The one thing that is certain is McG won't score.
-
Probably all for the good.

Been watching "Waterloo" on telly, and avoiding this thread for fear of jinxing it. And what do I find, same old sh1te. This is getting embarrassing; the tactics don't work, the players can't score - even from the penalty spot, and there is absolutely no prospect of it getting better if you look at the fixture list - so that must mean we will win at Sheff Utd. ( Anyone here seen scabby ? )

The thing I can't get is why they have to use two different tyre compounds, when usually one sort is completely unsuited to the track conditions. What is the point of that ? I think Bernie E is making up new rules each year, and p155ing around with the calendar, just to show how much power he has. Why stop Canada, ( ostensibly on the grounds of cutting travel costs ), but keep Brazil, ( which is a lot further away from anywhere else on the GP circus ). There have been ( not so ) veiled threats against the British and Belgian GPs, yet we get Valencia, yet another boring street circuit, and a race around a sandpit in middle east.

None of the current crop, with the possible exception of Alonso, would have been fit to lace Senna's boots.
