The Devalued Prime Minister of a Devalued Government
badgerx16 replied to Johnny Bognor's topic in The Lounge
Of course, the 'milk-snatcher' didn't destroy the coal industry, the steel works, shipbuilding, etc, did she ? ( Edit : cue the rabid right-wing response of 'of course not - the unions did ! ) -
The Devalued Prime Minister of a Devalued Government

It's easy for an opposition with no personal experience of Government office to make all the right noises in order to impress via the generally right-wing biased mass media. -

An article about Government borrowing policy : http://www.economicshelp.org/2008/11/government-borrowing-in-recessions.html Of course, the recession is all Gordy's fault;- He alone managed the American sub-prime mortgage market and instructed lenders to generously grant inflated loans to people who would never have a chance of repaying them; he created the arcane and inpenetrable web that the derivatives and futures markets turned into; he personally generated the valueless 'toxic assets' on which the inflated company valuations, and hence share prices, were based; he signed the cheques for the city whizzkids who gambled with astronomical amounts of nebulous money to inflate their bonuses; Yes, Gordon Brown is the root cause of everything. Once the current international banking crisis became apparent, he could, of course, have allowed Northern Rock, RBS, Bradford & Bingley, HBoS et al, to fail, and not ploughed money in to stabilise them and get them through the mess that THEY had caused. Do you honestly think that would have made things better ? France, Germany, and the USofA all have Government debt at over 60% of GDP, in Japan it's around 180%. But at the next election you can all vote for Cameron, who has said he is initially committed to following THE SAME fiscal policy as the Government, and then will presumably follow the usual Tory 'slash and burn' blitzkreig, and sacrifice public services on the high altar of tax cuts for the middle and upper classes to keep the middle-Englanders cosy. -
My first 'PC' was a Toshiba HX-10 with the MSX operating system, on which I enjoyed creating my own games. This was followed by a 'permanently borrowed' AMSTRAD 386 from work, which got me hooked on Premier Manager, something I have managed to ensure my sons have inherited, ( though of course it is now Football Manager that runs the risk of bing cited in any future divorce ).

Ferrari and their chums are upset because somebody else has found a glitch in the regulations that they had missed, so now they are crying to 'sir'.

As things stand, I bl00dy well hope we do.

My mother always said it was Basset Green , despite being between Glen Eyre School and the Uni.

Why the **** drive all the way up here if you are going to act like that ?

Something kicked off during the first half, and received a typically over-the-top response from the local plod. 'Andy Northern Saints' says on the post-match thread that somebody got jumped on for abusing the ref.
-
My son did comment that the ref was their best player.
-
What was all the kerfuffle about during the first half ? All I saw was a horde of plod piling in and a few saints fans trying to extricate themselves.

If you go back far enough, I am one of the ruffians from the flower estate, so be careful When asked where I am from it is always Lancashire first, England second, Britain third. If however, it is apparent the implied meaning is 'where were you born?", then of course it is the Royal South Hants Hospital, Southampton.

That explains a lot

We are just lulling the teams above us into a false sense of security.

And if you wanted an easy life, you wouldn't be a Saints fan

Indeed, if we can beat Charlton on April 4th whilst Blackpool beat Plymouth and Barnsley beat Forest, we will be out of the bottom three.

To quote the bloke sat next to me, ( yes I was with the home fans ), it shows how bad the division is if Blackpool can survive. Most 'Pool fans are still worried about the drop, despite their relatively hopeful league position. As for the game, we were much the better of two comparatively poor teams, ( my neighbour did also make comment about Sunday afternoon park football ), though the parlous league positions will undoubtedly have played on the players' minds. I thought we started brightly, Mule was putting himself about well, though we lacked guile around the box; with Blackpool losing out in midfield and tending to play nervously on the break the penalty was unexpected, and soft to say the least,. I think we lost our way a bit when Mule had to go off, and BWP replaced him, ( how on earth is he a professional player ? ). Gillett was making up for lack of inches with over-exuberant challenges, and was lucky not to get a yellow card. The save that KD tipped over was crucial, if we had gone 2 down I think we would have lost. Second half we pushed on, and left ourselves more open at the back as a result, but once we had equalised only 1 team was going to win. Saejis was superb, although he did get into a few awkward moments when he had to cover the RB slot, and Perry also did well. If only Surman's last gasp free kick had crept in. MOM Saejis for me. Stil reckon that Plymouth and Forest will go down with Charlton.

On the faint chance we do go down, why would Rasiak's value decrease ?

Somebody has to pay for the East Stand;)

And the psychiatric reports showed he was a pathological liar suffering from mental illness, and there was absolutely no corroborative evidence whatsoever, other than the fact he has the same blood group as one third of the male population.

Saint George will tell you that it is at best misguided, at worst deliberately slanted propaganda touted by the 'looney lefties'.
