I have spent nearly 6 decades being used to watching Saints play as the perennial under dogs, battling away against the odds, surviving by the skin of our teeth, but on occasion smashing one of the "Big Boys". Those teams didn't have superstars, ( well other than the obvious one ), but they played together, fought for each other, and left the fans proud of their efforts even if they lost more often than they won. Then for a while we had Adkins, Pochetinno, and Koeman and we were treated to some of the best and most exciting times as fans, even dreaming of joining the ranks of those Big Boys. How things have changed. Now I no longer have any illusions over what the result of our next match will be, and any joy I had in watching Saints has been completely drained away. Now I watch them to see just how much worse things can get, like some truly appalling yet somehow unavoidable bad TV comedy show, or those slow motion videos of crash tests. I can never stop supporting my team, but by God these muppets, ( SR and RM ), are making each match a test of my patience.
