The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?
badgerx16 replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
But are there any decent options on the bench ? -
Labour got a huge majority on less than 40% of the vote, so certainly unrepresentative. Agree about Meloni, much more pragmatic than the press would have had you believe.

Given the state of the main political parties in most countries, more obsessed either with image or slagging each other off; the perception that election results fail to proportionately represent the spread of political views, or that in many constituencies your vote is wasted as the local result is effectively predetermined, is it any wonder that "Democracy" is losing it's appeal.

When will we see the first complaints posted over Spain's unfair treatment of Brits ? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cr7enzjrymxo "Spain is planning to impose a tax of up to 100% on properties bought by non-residents from countries outside the EU, such as the UK."

As long as you pay attention to the tides. Bamburgh castle, right on the coastal dunes just south of Lindisfarne, is beautiful, and an alternative way to get to Holy Island is a boat trip from Seahouses, which would normally also take in visits to seal colonies. I also found Berwick a good day out for a history buff.

I live in Lancashire, born in Hampshire, family originally from Cumbria. Win, win, win.

From the tops of Pen-Y-Ghent, Ingleborough, and Whernside, if you look west, you are looking out towards God's own county.

Do you think he should be calling for Jess Philips to be jailed and for the Government to be overthrown, given the amplification that X provides him ? -

Yes. Neither Starmer or Philips is 'hiding' or covering up anything. Musk is just an ill-informed, not too bright, person with an inflated ego and the wisdom of a ten year old. -

How was he 'defending' it ? Musk was stoking the flames based on out-of-context and deliberately misconstrued quotes. Calling for Jess Philips to be jailed served no purpose other than to provoke personal attacks and threats against her. Conspiring to overthrow the legitimate democratic Government of the UK shows how unjustifiably megalomaniacal he is. -
My wife says he looks like Harry Potter with an owl stuffed up his arse.

That's twice I have gone out into the kitchen and missed a goal. ( I refuse to spend the second half out there ).

Probably won't appear until 5 minutes before kick off, that is what has been happening with other matches.

Or iPlayer or BBC website. What has Captain Jack done to not get into the matchdaysquad ? 😉

They quote "Government sources".
-
The Mail reporting that Musk and Domino Cummings are plotting via WhatsApp on how to bring down the UK Government.

If you go up Ingleborough from the west, park in Clapham. Great walk up, and a lovely tea room when you get back down.
