First time I have disagreed with you for a while. Until Dyer can learn to look up and cross a ball I'd leave him out. McGoldrich doesn't have his pace but he supplied three pinpoint cross/passes against Brum. First time this week you have said something I agree with. Maybe against Derby we should start a bit slower and pace ourselves if we are likely to run out of steam again.

Who would be your next offload to reduce the wage bill if required?
slickmick replied to TopGun's topic in The Saints
BWP, Skacel, Euell and Dyer. -
The plot thickens. Can't see Saga being recalled unless John,Bwp or McGoldrich are going. Even then it would have to be 2 of the 3.

2 v 2. Ater leading 2 v 0.

Because of them that we sold him. They will definately go if an offer comes in. Paul Wotton for centre half cover by looks of it.
-
Crouch or Wilde, who dealt out most of the contracts ?
-
Last year you could see after a few games that we were in trouble if we didn't improve quickly. This year there seems to be more unity about the club. More confident of survival this year.
-
I think most people can see what he meant except Wes.
-
Don't think Lowe was here when Burley was spunking £7m. Would he have agreed to spending that much, plus the contracts issue. Guilty of hiring Burley I admit. But I recall he was the fans choice when we first appointed him. So he was not the only one who was fooled.

2.5m will only keep us going until New Year. Then we will still have to offload Skacel and Euell, other wise another youngster with any value will have to be sold. Had Skacel agreed terms with Ipswich our position would have been a bit less desperate. Instead he would rather rot in the reserves and watch the club sink. Can you imagine the frustration Lowe must have, working with the man who dealt out these ridiculous contracts.
-
A contract he wasn't involved in. Say no more.

We will win this game without a doubt. 3 nil to the Saints. This is an important game. A win will lift confidence and a defeat for Derby could see them sapped of confidence and hopefully have a big struggle this season.

Davies 8: Most confident I have seen him. James 5: Skinned to often to easy. Very flat footed but is playing out of position. Could be one for next season. Killer 7: Without him things would have been worse. At fault with Perry for 1st goal. Perry 7: Played well but his lack of height is a concern. Surman 8: Best I have seen him at left back. Holmes 7 : Put some good crosses in the first half and looks a better and fitter prospect than Skacel. Gillett 8: Reminds me of a young Alan Ball, never gave up and looks to have a good partnership with Morgan. Morgan 8: Very cool and composed player, excellent passer with good vision. McGoldrich 8: Superb delivery of a ball from wide positions. We should have scored 3 from his assists. Not so sure when he went up front, not enough movement. Lallana 8 MOM: Full of energy, gets stuck in and has great skill and movement. Would like to see him swap over with McGoldrich a few times during a game. Think he might work the defence a bit more. John 7: Missed a glorious chance that could have won the game for us. Held the ball up and layed it off very well all game. Prefer him in that position than McGoldrich. All in all a much better team than this time last year. Had us down for a relegation scrap but not so sure now. My feeling is, that if we played poopey tommorrow I think we could beat them. Last season we wouldn't of had a chance.
-
Most fans who went to the game would agree with that. If we keep playing like that, we will give someone a real tonking, then watch the confidence grow.
-
Dead right unfortunately.

Curry it is then.

As long as the wife doesn't go into labour I'll be there.

If Saints have 8 high earning players and the bank says 7 of them must be released, who would you keep ? presuming the below list is right. Saga Rasiak A.Davies John Viafara Euell Idiakez BWP Plan A is to avoid administration and bring in a manager who Rupert Lowe believes is the right man to maximise our youth players. This I am sure would have been discussed with Portlievelt. If we stay up, all well and good. Plan A would have worked. Plan B would have to come into force if 4 of the above are still with us at the end of the transfer window. Sort the finances out first. Then we may be in a better position to negotiate with the bank. We also don't know what interest there might be in other players, such as Dyer being sold which would also be part of both plan A and B.
-
Little side bet with you Alp's. I bet McGoldrick will score at least 20 this season.
-
With no money and still having to sell to avoid administration, what would you do as a plan B Alpine ? You are trying to hard to find every concievable fault. Sit back and relax a bit. You never know, you might enjoy the ride.

Is Chairman Lowe Mk II any different to Chairman Lowe Mk I?
slickmick replied to TopGun's topic in The Saints
Sure Scooby will tell us his views of his master. -
Certainly used to be. Back in the seventies we were three nil down at half time and as we kicked off the second half, Lawrie was walking behind the goal when Ted McDougall (I think) smacked one into the back of the net. Ended 3 v 3.

Loan or sell ? How much ?

This is really starting to bug me so appreciate your efforts to find out. My first game I saw was Aston Villa in 1975 (start of cup run) but I have no idea how long after this date the said incident took place. I'll happily forget the wager of forfeit. The bragging rights will be more rewarding.
